Where swinging the ball both side was expertise of asif but due to lack of character he trapped himself in match fixing but on the other side with accuracy, killer mentality and discipline fast bowling McGrath played for 15 years and dominated over legendary batsman..... consistently for 15 years, which makes McGrath distinguished.....

This is some high quality seam bowling, even more so considering this was in sri lanka, one of the hardest places for a fast bowler. Asif had the perfect attributes - fast medium, smooth repeatable action and masterful control over seam (and also a bit of swing) that was difficult for batsmen to pick . Big pity his career ended in a ungracious manner.
And he sets this up on the LAST ball of his over, where the batsman is MOST LIKELY to leave it after seeing so many others pass the outside edge. This is not just technical but also psychological mastery in bowling. The stuff of movies. Just brilliant!
The delivery by which Asif got the wicket of Sanga, was in different style from the previous deliveries. If Sanga would watch carefully the right hand of Asif, he would have been able to judge the line of delivery.
Beautiful bowling. Still one can't class Asif as high a level a bowler as McGrath,Pollock ,Philander ,Anderson.,Davidson... Ability wise certainly but longevity matters hugely.Form ,injury and confidence play a major role over a long career. He averaged 60 with the ball in Australia? His career was way too short to rank him amingst the greatest ever.
