Harem of the Ottoman Sultans in Topkapı Palace -Istanbul Travel Guide 2020

- The Topkapı Palace served as the headquarter of the Ottoman Empire for centuries and many Ottoman sultans have live here. The palace in located at the best possible spot in the historical peninsula that oversees the whole city and has a wonderful panoramic view over the Bosporus. The Harem section of the palace is a large complex inside the palace and needleless to say was the most private section of the whole complex. Walk with me inside the Harem of Topkapı Place and see it yourself!

And to think Hürrem walked through these halls centuries ago... Is amazing
Nice valide sultanlar ,cariyeler ,sultanlar gecti
💔💔💔💔
Hurrem was kidnapped as a young teen girl as her parents and brother were slaughtered… she was sold into sexual slavery to a king twice her age… we glorify her as if she was well
To do princess but she was nothing more than a sex slave…it’s a shameful part of Turkish and Muslim history
Yes absolutely

I had the chance to see this wonderful palace 2 years ago and it is splendid and extremelly well preserved! Visit Turkey if you have the chance because it is the heart of civilisation and history! Respect Turkey! Greetings from Romania!
True 😍🥰
That might be partially true. India is the heart of civilization for over 50000 years of history. Also India never invaded other countries.
@@ravikuppuswamy9044 LOL even rabbits have better historical facts then you andh bhakts. India was never a country. It was always either tribal or emirical. Even Hinduism (name given by Arabs) was branched from Vadic religion whom the Anglo Europeans followed. Hindu emperors not only fought themselves but fought for more land. Unlike Turkey which was an empire built by native Turks, India on the other hand was united by British as a whole (Pak, Ind, Bang).

Oh, how I'm imagining Hurrem Sultan walking down that golden road for His Suleyman, wearing those beautiful gowns, having that beautiful smile on her face and her eyes glimmering with happiness .. 😊 Her style, her aura, her strength, every single thing about her is crossing my mind right now .. 😭🌹
Knowing that she’s now a slave & can never escape. She’s lost her entire family, & now must take her revenge. The place that was her jail, now becomes her home. She out powers them all, & rules those who destroyed her family. Harem has them all on their knees
And she also participated in enslaving younger girls.

They do a next level job of recreating everything on the TV show. It looks so much like this it's nearly breath taking. They spared no expense in bringing that moment in history to life, even if they obviously dramatize a lot for the sake of the show.
There's a video here on behind the scenes of it, including set building.

Not: Bir yıl sonra yorumuma yeniden dönüyorum.

Actually, initially the harem was not at Topkapi, but at Eski Sarai. The sultan was visiting it when he wanted to see his mother and the concubine. After Hurrem gained power, she insisted to be near the sultan when he works, so a pavillion was build for her in Topkapi. The clothes where very different too - harem pants and kaftans, not European dresses. The men had long beards.

I'm obsessed with the management in magnificent century. A wonderful sample of a real management should be.
Architecture has always interested me - Looking at this palace the first thing that eye notices is the exquisite tile work. The artists who created them were truly masters of their craft.
Though not directly related to this video -Magnificent Century was one of the best series I've ever watched. Though not completely historically accurate, it was a wonderful show that gave life to an incredible period in history.
As well - I appreciated that it wasn't vulgar or disrespectful. There was thought and effort put into the dialog, characters and lavish sets and costumes.
I will never be able to travel to actually view this palace or other sites of history, I appreciate all the more the chance to see this magnificent palace through the eyes of someone walking through it without the distractions of a narrator. Thank you for this video!!

Wonderful palace of the ottoman king..amazing palace in turkey..
