I just finished making this bag and I absolutely love it. It has such a unique shape and looks so professional. I felt like I was really learning some new skills since this bag has a lot of features I had not done before. This tutorial was so helpful as are the other Sallie Tomato tutorials I have used. Thank you so much for the video and for creating such a great pattern. I know I will be making more in the future.

There were no instructions (cutting or sewing) for the crossbody strap connectors at all. I'm so glad I saw this video because, otherwise, if you just follow the pattern one would assume that this strap (which is not even included in the pattern's photo) must attach to the handles on the front. I have yet to finish the bag but I imagine this would give a very different look.

Hi Judy, Thanks for asking your questions. You should find the cutting of the Strap Connectors on page 1, in the CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS, listed under EXTERIOR.
Then the instructions for making the Strap Connectors are detailed on page 4, under PREPARE STRAP CONNECTORS, and attaching them is located on page 6, step 11.
We hope this helps, and can definitely see how having both Handle Connectors and Strap Connectors to keep track of made it a little more challenging. If you have any further questions please let us know. Thank you for watching and happy sewing! :)

What type of thread works best on faux leather?

Thanks for watching this video and asking your great question! We highly recommend using a 40wt polyester thread because it is durable for both piecing and topstitching.
