Scooby Doo zombie island isn’t just a good zombie movie, but the best piece of Scooby Doo content
13 ghosts of Scooby-Doo would like to disagree funni destiny meme man
@@gestaltblitz8296 Nah Mystery Incorporated was way better.
@@lusiek9 indeed
I wonder if it's the Drifter's favorite movie. After all zombies tend to eat as much as he does.
Very accurate, even though I personally like Ghoul School more
Zombie Island was excellent from start to finish. It gave suspense, horror, & comedy. It was dark as hell, but I loved every minute of it.
Correct
This with Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders, and Cyber Chase are some of the best pieces of media EVER.
I agree it😅
Cyber Chase would be a great movie if they didn't skip 6 out of the 10 levels in the game in a 2 minute montage
The game is based on the movie, not the other way around. They extended those montage clips into actual levels, you're looking at this the complete wrong way.@@zaneheaston8254
Best was zombie island in my opinion
Zombie Island and Mystery Incorporated really show the full potential of Scooby Doo. In some ways it's a shame we haven't had more of this quality but not having much Scooby media of this quality makes it all the more special.
When I was little I would always stop the movie around the time Fred and Daphne figured out they where actual zombies. Not because I was scared of the zombies themselves, but by the fact that this time it wasn't just some guy in a costume. I think that was my first experience with psychological horror
Man, terror time still absolutely slaps. Thank you for posting this video today.
Big facts
it's bizarre how good the pop punk made for scoob movies can be
For once the zombies are actually the good guys, wow I never thought that can be possible but it makes sense, they're scaring people away so other don't become victims like them and they're thankful for finally being released (though I still blame the pirates for causing everything)
This movie and Coraline are what I describe as kid friendly horror that is still scary due to tone, animation, and good voice acting. It helps that the movie echos the opinions of the kids watching it, to want to see actual monsters and then demonstrates why real monsters are something you should be glad are not real. A case of "Be careful what you wish for."
Bro I read the book Coraline back in like 2nd grade, wayyy before the movie even came out. Book was wayyyy spookier as I didn’t have some of the light hearted moments in the movie to sort of compare it to. While there were bits of that same character in the book, it is just so very overshadowed by the dark side of the story. Could be just my memory as I was quite young and impressionable. Lol cheers!
I don't know about the zombies but watching the settlers forced into the water with the gators. As a kid probably the most horrifying point to be left to my imagination such a great film.
Shut up then
Fun fact, something similar happen IRL during World War 2. During an invasion of an Island Japanese forces started to retreat through crocodile waters, on that day in that battle the crocodiles ended up killing more Japanese troops then the Allied troops did. I believe they were Salt Water or Nile Crocs, one of those two.
@@HUNKMrDeath-lt7kq i dont think of it as a ,,fun" fact but stil a fact
@@blackiewolfie1240 It was fun for the crocs. XD
@@HUNKMrDeath-lt7kq Like how more navy members got eaten by sharks than killed by bullets/shrapnel/explosions in some pacific theatre battles.
I'd completely forgotten about this movie. Total Nostalgia trip. I (now) remember wearing out my VHS copy.
The series of movies like this, Cyber Chase, Witch's Ghost, and Alien Invaders were perfect examples of a studio respecting their audience. Also that the people working on the movies wanted the monster to be real, because they thought it was silly to do a movie long fake-out like it was a ordinary Scooby Doo episode
I love Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island because it's the first movie I remember where the monsters were actually real and they explained how and why they were the way they were.
I also like that they swapped the roles and made the "villans" aka the zombies, the good guys and made the supposed victims the actual bad guys
The priate zombies ares till villains. The tourist zombies are innocents.
True
But they were only bad when they were alive, hence the two ladies killing them.
When they came back from the dead they helped the gang plus the other zombies to defeat the ladies.
@@kat7135 But that was selfish, the werecats losing ended the curse/was revenge.
So The pirates aren't evil because they are zombies. they're evil for being pirates. Who knows what would have happened if the curse didn't end. Maybe it would have been like the first Pirates of the Caribean movie.
The other Zombies are all good though (well, at least we have no idea if they commited crimes in life)
Bro, the scene of Morgan Moonscar lumbering towards Scooby and Shaggy haunted me for a while. It’s a genuinely terrifying moment that you wouldn’t expect from Scooby Doo.
What's the matter, cat got your tongue?
I was 16 when this came out. It literally rekindled my love for Scooby-Doo. I had grown up on 13 Ghost of Scooby-Doo, A Pup named Scooby-Doo, Scooby-Doo and Scrappy Doo ect. By the time this movie came out I thought I was too old for Scoob. But this movie changed it all.
Honestly, you’re never to old to keep on loving the things you enjoy
Since I was little I was remembered this as being the best piece of Scooby Doo media there is.
I watched this hundreds of times on VHS growing up. It's still my favorite Scooby Doo movie. I actually like the live action ones too lol, even if they're not popular. Matt Lillard is a great Shaggy
Lillard is seriously the only logical choice for shaggy. He was basically perfect.
Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island truly deserves its accolades as a top-notch zombie film for the family.
Also, I chuckled at the thought that the cats are luring in people to the island only to have the visitors have their life force drained away by the resident werecats. But at the same time it's completely plausible because who would ever resist cats?!
Also, I truly appreciate you using the final boss fight music from Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story during the segment focusing on the werecats.
I remember when me and my brother were younger, we had a sort of fort under my bed that had a TV that plays VHS tapes, my favourite movie to watch in our fort was Scooby-Doo Zombie Island. Needless to say, I'm super happy you decided to review this film, so, thank you
This movie was always a favorite of mine, and it was such a treat to share it with my Mom when she finally agreed to watch a Scooby movie with me.
It's just a perfect spooky kids movie that doesn't dumb itself down for the kids, has fantastic atmosphere, and just is a peak representation of Scooby and the Gang in general.
This film has held up incredibly well. It had no right to be as good as it was, but it is truly a masterpiece.
What really impressed me about this movie and still does is it's one of the few movies to ever show the Confederacy in even the slimmest of positive lights. That the horrible pirates and soldiers would do anything within their power to save others showed a common humanity you really don't get in especially modern media where everything is made as black and white as possible.
Honestly the background music while you spoke over clips this time was super clever. Genuinely enjoyed this alot more and not even because I grew up in Scooby-Doo
My family had this on VHS. (Early 2000s gang, where ya at?) It was basically baby's first horror movie for me.
2003 baby, and I remember only ever having a VHS player for most of my Early childhood life and just replying this movie over and over and over with my younger siblings, I still quote this movie to this day. I actually remember crying the first time I saw it on cable tv, because I was so excited to see it 😅
Did you just become my favorite zombie content creator with this? Yes, yes you did
So it's all he talks about?
I’m 23 and I watched VHS tapes all the time as a kid, so you’re not too old lol. They were still very common when I was little
Literally same, that movie is just amazing as a kid watching it on loop as it is watching it now as an adult
I’m 29 years old and I still watch this movie by myself this movie is truly a great masterpiece.
What a fun movie, perhaps my favorite Scooby movie. By the way, happy April Fools everybody!!!
This is one of my favorite movies to this day. This is one of the best pieces of Scooby-Doo media to ever come out. It was a different direction for the franchise yet capture all the original personalities of each character
This movie was the best of all the movies, great animation, story and music. Was also super nostalgic to hear you talk about it, this was my childhood
I'm still obsessed with this movie to this day
0:16 OH MAN THE INSTANT NOSTALGIA OF THE MUSIC!
The music is peak. Like they had no right making it go this hard for a kids movie, but dam I loved it
i love the good plot twist of instead of zombies being the side another enemy into being actual good people that were people before trying to scare everyone away from the island to not become one of them.
Best not to call the zombies good. Well, certain ones that is. Some of them committed very heinous acts. It is just that a commonly shared goal aligned them to unite against a larger threat.
I remember scheduling time to watch this movie when it came out on Cartoon Network for the first time because I didn't even know it was out on VHS. I would everything when it a rerun came on.
To this day, I rewatch it. Especially since it is free on RUclips!
Yes this was my first zombie movie and I Iove it
I always loved the music in this movie as a kid and I'm pleased to announce that as an adult it still slaps
I always loved the soundtrack as Shaggy amd Scooby-Doo was running from zombies.
i definitely loved those straight to video movies as a kid, they had to be some of my favourites
Haven’t heard Terror Time Again in so long. Thank you, Skycycle
0:15 .... WOW! What an intro! I watched this over by itself a few times just to fully appreciate how it highlighted the best parts of the video. The use of the movie's banger music, the sequencing to accent the art style, the way it focuses on the darker stuff that made the movie so amazing On that alone I give my like.
..... now excuse me while I watch it yet again before continuing.
Scooby Doo zombie island é um dos meus filmes favoritos!
Concordo com todos os detalhes no seu video :)
22:55
This is by far the best Scooby-Doo movie. Terror Time kicks way more ass than a song from a kid's movie has any right kicking.
This movie was so cool when I was a kid. It made me the zombie fan I am today
I remember that one scene that scared the crap out of me as a little boy. Where Fred rips the Zombie's head off. I used to have it on VHS.
By far that's my favorite Scooby Doo movie.
The zombie island music was probably my fav out of all the movies
The old scooby doo movies are amazing
The zombies scared me as a kid, but I still watched this movie SO MANY TIMES
Terror time again goes hard! 😂 I remember seeing this movie as a kid
this movie shaped me....i think this is the movie that made me like horror as much as i do honestly. i watched it so much as a kid and the other scooby doo movies in this era, but this one is still the best...just thinking about how old this movie is makes me feel old
I still listen to the music to this day 😂 this movie was absolutely the foundation of my love of zombies
my first zombi movie and damn......it was so good
This is one of my all time favorite movies!
How has this video not hit 1 MIL VIEWS YET 😂😂😂😂... ITS GOLD....THE NOSTALGIA
I was born on the year 2000 so being an early 2000s kid was a prime time to binge so much Scooby-Doo content and I loved every second of it but nothing compares to zombie island. By the time I watched it in 2007 I was kind of tired of it always being people in masks or costumes so when I saw the first zombie on screen 7 year old me was both scared as hell but also engrossed into the story. I was waiting with baited breath for the next zombie scene because of the emotions they made me feel and when "Terror Time" started playing as the zombie horde grew larger nothing could've pulled me from my seat because the scene was just so badass. I'm also glad to see i wasn't the only one that loved the animation of the zombies and werecats dissolving, that shit was so damn good and I would also rewind the vhs to watch it over and over.
Great scooby doo movie idea + awesome soundtrack = memorable masterpiece.
GOD I forgot how hard that song they had goes.
and ya those 4 direct to VHS movies were probably some of my most watched movies in childhood
Man i felt that intro song so hard. What a child hood movie. I will give a rewatch to that movie
The direct to DVD Scooby Doo movies were always great, zombie island and alien invaders are my favorites
I can still remember going out trick r treating that year and being more excited about coming home to watch this air on cartoonetwork. I now watch this with my daughter ❤
My kids and I love this movie, thank you so much for covering it!!😊❤
so Scooby Doo Zombie Island is just the Mystery Gang going through the Swamp Fever and Parish campaign? damn......
This was my favorite Scooby-Doo movie. 🧟♂️
Still unironically one of my favorite zombie movies
Gohan Angers is not a track I expected to hear in a Scooby-Doo breakdown. Well played.
Dude that was and still is my favorite Scooby-Doo movie!
this was also my first interduction to zombies and i loved it as a kid and i love it even more now as a adult (mostly for that kick ass song).
Man, I loved this movie when I was younger, and it is still one of my favorites.
Scooby doo on zombie island... man, back when the scooby doo movies had freaking guts to be dark. It's honestly THE best scooby doo movie 😁
Holy shit this movie is one of the best movies ever. Not just cartoon, but MOVIE. I thought it was just me simping for this movie since I was a kid, but I'm glad to see it's not just me!
Loved the vid!!!
Awesome video bro.
i love this so goddanm much, and seeing a video about it makes it so much better than i remember, i watched it so many times, i was like, 5 the first time i've watched
@11:11, I fully agree, that montage was Awesome!!
25 years later (yes, 25!) that song from Zombie Island is still an absolute banger
Ahhh thank you! I freaking loved this movie, I used to watch it over and over again after school.
This is one of the best Scooby Doo/ Zombie movies I’ve seen also the music 🎶 is so good!!
Man the scooby doo movies always slapped. Haven't watched or thought about them all in years
Skycycle did not have to go that hard but they did and its still my favorite song from any scooby doo movie
Banger of a film and a banger of a video
I think that Velma and Ray Stantz would be great friends or rivals seeing that they both own an occult book shop
ironically, Scooby Doo on Zombie Island was also my first zombie movie.
But i always enjoyed the song when the zombies first showed up.
IT"S TERROOOORRRRR TIME AGAIN!
The best horror movie 10/10 why that's why not about childhood or nostalgia its about the quality they make in this movie and when the soundtracks was put it this movie was kickass and my blood pressure go skyrocket because this movie was so awesome and great
Hey man I know the Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders and Cyber Chase aren't zombie movies, but I would genuinely love it if you did reviews of them. Those were my favorite animated movies as a kid and I can see they also hold a special place in your heart, so I think your review of them would be rock solid.
This was my introductory to Scooby-Doo AND zombies as a kid. Also, I really appreciate the highlighting of the kick-ass Soundtrack
Thanks a lot! Because of you I had to rent Scooby Doo on Zombie Island!! Man this was my first zombie film and now I feel so old. Lol
My very first and ONLY Zombie movie 🎬 I love Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island
0:16 11:00 21:58 with the best banger song ever 🔥
I was born the year this came out, that probably explains why I love this movie 😅😊
You my good sir had filled my brain with nostalgia filled dopamine with this one video
Probably a departure from the standard zombie media you cover but I’d love to see your pov on the Sonic IDW comics Metal Virus story arc. Basically it’s a robo-zombie apocalypse caused by Dr. Eggman
I love this movie. It's held up really well and is just a good spooky Scooby-Doo adventure that's such a big part of my childhood. I watch it at least once a year.
Great breakdown. Like the Left 4 Dead 2 references!
You brought back a memory I forgot I had.
My first zombie movie was actually Resident Evil, than Dawn of The Dead, but I remember having scooby doo zombie island on VHS and watching it. Ghoul school was my favorite
i adored scoob doo and the cyber chase and the realated ps2 game. so freakin good. the which one i remember terrifying me. never watched it for a second time, maybe i should, or maybe i should let it stay terrifyng to me
Man I can’t wait a year from yesterday for the prequel to this masterpiece
This movie hold suchh a special place in my heart ! My all time favorite closely followed by The Ghoul School and Legend Of The Vampire
I love this movie so damn much and the absolute banger of Terror Time.
Always loved the song in this movie
I watched this movie religiously as a kid and was my favorite Scooby doo movie and that terror time song became my favorite song that I would rewind countless times just to hear it again
*Terror Time elicits immediate head banging*
