- Download Actions and PSD files free: photoshopdesire.com/ In this quick guide, I'll show you how to turn any photo into a lifelike painting using Photoshop Beta.
First, ensure you have Photoshop Beta installed on your computer. If not, visit Adobe Creative Cloud to get it. Once installed, let's get started!
Inside Photoshop Beta, focus on the image you want to transform.
Double-click the quick mask icon to access its settings. Set it to "Masked Areas," red color, and 50% opacity. Click "OK."
Click the quick mask icon again. This time, switch the foreground color to a soft 40% grey. This adds subtle tonal variations, simulating traditional painting's "Tonal Gradation."
Click "OK." The red overlay indicates unselected areas.
To exit Quick Mask mode, click the same icon again.
Look at the contextual taskbar for task-specific options. If it's missing, find it in the "Window" menu.
Now, let's explore "Generative Fill."
Click "Generative Fill" to open the text prompt area.
Type your creative ideas or use prompts like "focus on detail," "vivid colors," etc.
Click "Generate" to see your vision transform.
Find your generated paintings in the properties window panel. If it's not visible, access it through the "Window" menu.
Choose the painting that resonates with you or generate more options. Your creativity has no limits!
Once you're satisfied, your artwork is ready to be shared, printed, or enhanced. With Photoshop's generative fill, your artistic possibilities are endless.

Mine is making a completely different photo
Me too i can't figure it out
Excellent information that I look for a long time. Many thanks!!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks so much, I'm blown away by this.
This is a very good explanation of the process. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
You are a great teacher! Thank you for the video
Fantastic! Love it!
Thanks so much!
Thank you!
I have tried to replicate on different images and I can never get the same generation over multiple images. How do I fix this?
the generative fill is altering my image too much from original. how can i fix that?
me too
Can an "action" be made of this process?
guys it's not working on latest photoshop update, mine is working at 25.6
Would like to know as well if this could be put into an action..thanks!!!!
great sir Thanks
PSDESIRE thanks for the tutorial. That's a really cool thing, altough the Problem is, that my face changes a lot when I apply the Generative Fill. Do you know any option or solution in the Prompt maybe, so I get the Oil painting effect but may facial features don't change? Thanks a lot in advance!
Thank you🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
question does photoshop show it's work? so that you can add that same "preset" to other photos
I did exactly what you did but it’s making a separate generative layer and applying the prompt onto that layer instead of my photo layer???? Please help!
Mine too. Did you figure it out?
Contents colors is greyed out for me. It's not working
It should.make all the layers of all the process
❤❤❤
I tried this over and over again carefully following your instructions and even watching other videos. I could never get it to work. It always filled the entire image with a oil painting like you showed in your video NOT how to do it. Finally I tried installing and earlier version of PS beta and sure enough it worked. There is something wrong with the current version 25.9
which version are you on right now?
@@billbir6113 right now I am using version 25.7.0 and it works perfectly. The latest version does not work.
My results are never anywhere close to these. They're always way off from what I want. People are always deformed.
i think one click ?! :D
misleading thumbnail, it's not one click
That's the point
Painting has done by AI, not by your self. You have jus given command to AI
Yeah it's not a big thing you used command not create by yourself
Great video, but, he obviously doesn't read the comments!
So not much point in asking any questions!!
