Boss: I WON'T PAY YOU! You're Useless!! Me: Cool Beans...[dials phone] Hello, Department of Labour, I'd like to File a Wage Theft Complaint against my Boss...Thank You. Boss: No, Wait! I'll pay you... DoL: Far too little, WAY too late...Here's your Fines, now pay him what you should have plus 3 times that in Penalties... 😄😄😁😅😂🤣
My oldest step sister is a retired prosecuting trial attorney, I showed her this video and she told me that the boss and the husband would be disbarred and charged with so many violations it would not be funny, she called the story fake.
Story 1: I had to jump the video back to relisten and read as I thought I was hearing things when it said “she sued the first one for her shoes.” ! I wonder what on earth these shoes were like to warrant a law suit. The mind boggles!
The last story, the reason Hawaii is so expensive, is that most goods has to be brought in by ships. Those koa trees should have cost the former neighbor more than they did. The former neighbor could have also gotten into serious trouble with the state as well.
I know the feeling about not getting paid for work which I have a rule if I don't get paid 3 times I'll quit without a second though which I only did a few times where the last time when I was doing handyman work for this old lady who isn't around town much but after the 3rd missed paid I messaged that I quit and just blocked the number.
Tree Story: Finding out how much he got from selling OP's trees is easy...if the Neighbour refused to tell them, just Subpoena the Tree Company that cut them down and bought the wood from him and ask then how much they paid him for the wood...the Tree Company is NOT going to ignore a Court Order to show their Records...
Had to look up Koa trees since I'm not familiar with them. The wood is gorgeous and can be quite expensive per board foot. The neighbor was a fool. I only glanced at them since I was also listening to the story. But with the family they're in, I'm wondering if the seed pods are edible. Think I'm gonna look it up. 😂
Thanks for the great second stories Ripe, you always deliver,, keep up the amazing work & I really hope Santa brings you all something wonderful,,😻😻😻⭐⭐⭐😹😹😹🥃🥃🥃🥃,, back to having Cocktails & enjoying the holidays,, Be safe & well,,,
The second story, it had me shall we say very very vexed. I have zero tolerance for racists. There are so many violations in that story, that the chavette the company was going to bankrupt with , but also she was going to personally go bankrupt as well. She should have also had hate speech charges brought against her.
Tree law came to mind on the last story and the guy was way beyond dumb for doing it. It's also laughable when these type of people do something to the trees and say it's not worth that much. Granted he did pocket the money but still way dumb.
Story 2: it can be possible to contract an intern, but it isn't possible to make a contract for no compensation. What makes a contract a contract is an offer, an acceptance, and *consideration.* Consideration is the thing being exchanged -- what you're getting in exchange for what you're giving. Both sides have to gain something from the other (though it needn't be something physical -- training counts, for example) in order to create a contract.
Also, if I remember right, an unpaid internship has a battery of factors to consider its legality. One is that it can't displace work normally done by a paid employee. Now, switching a paid employee to an unpaid internship is pretty explicitly that.
@danielhall6477 That's correct, at least if this took place in the United States. (The definition of a contract requiring something exchanged is universal.) But it's also a fairly recent development. The laws restricting unpaid internships to those which offer significant educational benefits to the intern (with a whole raft of specifics to make clear what that might have to look like) have only been around a few years. So it's entirely possible this story took place before then, even if it occurred in the US. It is also entirely possible, of course, for the Karen boss to be ignorant of the actual laws regarding minimum wage and unpaid internships. Or to know them herself, but count on her employees not to, for that matter.
The first story, if that happened it wasn't in the U.S. If it was then that law office would have been placed under investigation very fast, and their license practice would have gotten a court ordered suspension pending the outcome of an investigation being completed. Which would have ended the career of the lawyer, and criminal charges being brought. The former employees would have also with civil suits to match. All of the other impacted law firms would have brought their own suits against the firm.
How do Karen's get put in positions like manager? With all the havoc they cause they don't belong in positions over other people and their jobs. It ruins to many people their jobs before the business realizes the damage caused by karen and fire her.
Hawaii Fraudulent transfers have a punitive *2 punitive damage potential if malicious intention proven. So if OP had a better lawyer could have got base damage value of trees, then *2 punitive damages on top ie 3 times the value of the trees.
I just looked up photos of koa trees. Ugly?! Wtf is he talking about? Personally, I kinda hate palm trees. I grew up in sounthern California and the kind we have there A) are usually a haven for rats, B) make a huge ass mess during the fruiting season & C) require hard to do maintenence (cuz they're so tall, but those dead fronds need to go, or the afore mentioned rats will get crazy) fuk palm trees even the coconut kind if they are anything like these ones.😅🤷♀️ But also, all these tree haters in general baffle me. You hate *trees*? Really? W/o them there'd be no air to breathe. Not even the palm trees I hate are ugly. Some trees are "boring" compared to otger trees, but I don't know of any I'd call ugly. Some people are just weird.😅
time to make a class action lawsuit for harassment agains that toxic boss and I doubt it would take that much investigation to have her disbarred and for her toxic waste firm to crumble

Second story: That pattern of firings is against the law in most cases and definitely cause for a wrongful termination lawsuit

Tree law! Tree law! Tree law!
Love it
Story 1 is the reason I never tell my bosses where I am going to. I quite literally make up a reason for me leaving.
Merry Christmas ripe

Triple damages for trees in Michigan.
What the hell up with this stupid boss she's messing people up
How do Karen's get put in positions like manager? With all the havoc they cause they don't belong in positions over other people and their jobs. It ruins to many people their jobs before the business realizes the damage caused by karen and fire her.
They mask the Karen until they have power OR said power causes it to come out. It's why the HOAs makes lame people into monsters
Oh yeah I see a video on less than 10 minutes ❤❤
happy holidays ripe fans🌲⛄
And keep up on the great videos ripe❤❤❤
Story 2: As a black man, if anyone calls me a racial slur, they would be in hell by the time they finished that sentence
Not all houle's are idiots, but some DO fit the mold
Talk about throwing away money. Buying a business that could've made her rich but instead throws it right out the door because she's racist.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
if op knew her boss was so terrible then why op accept a job at this firm story 1
Merry Christmas Ripe!!
Isn't lack of CLE a reason to suspend law licenses?

15:15 Cut down Koa tree story. It is a nice piece of fiction. Treble damages here on the continent.
Does anyone else feel like a lot of these stories should be in r/That happened and should end with "Than everyone clapped"
