One thing to add, the gear ratio on linear tracks, hinges and pivots can be a little weird.
Changing the ratio will always change the speed, 1:1 is the fastest.
1:1 should also be the weakest, however depending on the weight of the body connected to it, it is sometimes stronger.
I have no hard and fast rule for this, just use trial and error.
If it struggles to move using a high ratio like 1:16, try using a lower ratio like 1:1.
It doesn't make any sense, but it may save you some frustration to know about this little quirk.

Amazing extra tidbit! I didn't want to go into that because like you said, it seems like a glitch that the ratios do not work in a logical way ahha

Also if you want to use the compact tracks for their asterisks and you want to still be able to stop them precisely with a microcontroller/pid you can always use a (laser) distance sensor to get the distance. Depends on the situation of course but there are times it comes in useful.

Ah this is a good idea. I used to use touch sensor but that took too many rooms

I know this is unrelated, but in your How to build a Functional Boat tutorial, I couldn't find the microcontroller that you used for starting the boat. If it's in a video I hadn't checked, or a steam workshop post, then a link would be greatly appreciated!
