    There were a big challenge for Saudis. They changed the desert to industrial cities, farms and high ways. They built over 45 sea water desalination stations. So, they have their own rivers. During 50 years they achieved silently the greater projects in the world. Changing coumunity, and changing desert environment to a real developed state. Cities are specifically designated for the education system and health care. It's true that they are different but, they absolutely succeeded.

    To be real, until I started watching these documentaries, I really believed most Saudi women, specifically, were unhappy, oppressed, etc. But it seems most are happy, normal working wives,mothers etc. The education rate is astounding, many hold various degrees in science, medicine, etc. They do these things despite what the world thinks, and to me, that makes them some of the strongest women in the world. The western mainstream media is a joke. If you want to know Islam, ask a Muslim. If you want to know Saudi, ask a Saudi, Pakistan ask a Pakistani. At least research these things your self, and drawn your own opinion before deciding anything negative. Much love from USA ❤️

      +RvngeOG oh you are very welcome! My fiancé (who's Pakistani), his 3 brothers and their wives all love on Saudi and they seek quite happy there! (Kind of worried because of Yemen,etc) BUT I just hate how they will show a Saudi woman (who was treated horribly,etc by husband, father,etc) then they'll interview said woman in western media, and of course she's going to say she was oppressed/forced/etc because for HER, Saudi Culture, the birqa,etc,Islam were ALL BAD EXPERIENCES--However that doesn't represent ALL Saudi women which is a HUGE misconception here in USA. I've been studying the Quran,etc and I now know the burka is the woman's choice (in most cases), is Saudi culture (more than it is Islamic), and I have the up,oat respect for any Muslim women but especially Saudis because these educated, awesome, God loving women CHOOSE to cover themselves out of RESPECT AND LOVE FOR ALLAH (GOD) AND because as per Islam, a wife is her husbands QUEEN, she is only meant for HIM to see her body-

    • @elizabethlancaster6219
      @elizabethlancaster6219 9 лет назад +4

      +RvngeOG (sorry ran out of room) (and others can see her like father, brother,etc) but seriously, that is awesome to have that much respect for God, AND for not just their husbands, but other woman's husbands,brothers,etc. I commend you all !!!

    • @davidhynes7850
      @davidhynes7850 9 лет назад

      fiphykhatx They daren't do anything to offend fellow Muslims. They must stay within the guidelines and parameters set by this totalitarian regime.Even medical people wear them and they must be aware of the health problems of not letting enough sunlight onto their hair and bodies, and which will cause health problems in their future, and yet they are too 'frightened' not to wear it. This is a modern phenomena. Lots of Muslim women in the 1980's didn't wear these overall coverings.

      Are you even read the Quran!! It says that allowed 😄 do you think that you know more than Allah!!
      (27) (22:27) and make a proclamation to the people to come to you for Hajj from far and near, on foot and on lean *46 camels *47
      (28) (22:28) so that they may witness the benefits that have been made available here for them: *48 and during the known appointed days, they should mention the name of Allah over the cattle He has provided them : *49 then they may eat their flesh and also give of it to the indigent and needy.
      And about what you said about our women 😃 will excuse me, but I’m a Saudi woman, and I wear my hijab willingly (any Muslim woman doesn’t wear it for another reason tell her to remove it coz there’s no rewards for it anyway) and I can go anywhere Mr.drama Queen, as long as it’s not a travel that takes more than 3 days, and I can drive my own car, but be known that I respect my parents so much so if they tell me to not do anything I’ll not do it, 😊 I can but I’ll not if that makes them happy and rest, same things for my brothers, because God tells me to do so, not the government or anything else, I know that something can’t be reasonable in some countries but it’s very much here, for both males and females, kids and adults, specially in Muslims countries, not the government or any others opinions of any creature can change it😒, I only care about my God and my parents first, then myself, my family, my people, my nation, my country, and my society, you really don’t know anything about our society or how its people think, and there is no power on this earth can make me believe that you’re care about us like our fathers and brothers do.. and I don’t know why are you talking about them as if they are our enemies, they are our families!! 😄♥️ they are my father, my brothers, my uncles, and they are will be my sons and my love, 😍 say what! Men and women are equal! ☺️ sorry not till the man can be pregnant, otherwise they should work for us and pay for everything, as fathers and brothers or as husbands, 😚😚😚 so keep calm and don’t put your nose where it’s not belong ..specially when no one ask for it 😊

    I can in believe how nasty and rude people are being on this page. I have had 2 experiences with Saudi men. The first one I was around the age of 18 and he was a Saudi Prince whom I wish I could find him today so I can apologize for not continue seeing this man. He was so nice and very giving,and ordered a glass of milk in the bar, but like myself I think he had misconceptions about Americans. He was very generous to me, but it scared me because I thought that all Saudi men thought that all American women have sexual relations with anyone especially because I live in Las Vegas and that is so far from the truth! I met a man about 15 year's later and I didn't know his nationality but I did go on a date with him. Long story short I have a 12 yr old son with him and he is one of the most loving men I have ever met. His family(and himself) are from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and they are so beautiful and loving towards my son and I. They are now and will always be my family. If my father was not getting older and in need of my care I would love for us to move to Jeddah. I would love to have a driver, spend time at the malls, travel abroad and spend quality time with family. They visit us regularly and for the terrorists people say they ALL are they must hide it well, Lol! There are terrorists everywhere! Does Timothy McVeigh ring a bell with any Americans?On 9-11 my 6 yr old step daughter was asked if she would warn them if she was going to bomb somewhere. It's very sad that we can't find the good in people and instead talk about each other like we're a bad country, race , or religion. I hope my son grows up to be a very proud Saudi American. I want him to be educated about both countries and I pray to God that he never speaks the hatred I have read on here.

      They do have a woman race car driver and a female pilot, although she must be driven to the airport. She flies the very large royal 747. They have many women professionals, doctors, lawyers, accountants, running major banks. I think Saudi men in these major cities even prefer their wife be a College Grad and business professional. Then you have dual income. They have families to raise too. One thing I do love is that the families all live close together. Each with their own home but sometimes sisters, sisters-in-law live right across the street, or some have not only a private kitchen but a main kitchen so the whole family eats together. Very family oriented. Even the grandmother is there. I grew up with my grandmother living with us and it is very special. But there are small villages that are there and actually depicted in your post.

    Y do u guys want a replica of the USA in the middle eastern countries... I am an Indian and i have lived a major part of my life as in my childhood and my teenage in saudi arabia.. There is nothin wrong there... Life is pretty comfortable and lavish with better than the best infrastructure provided by the government.. Women are not oppressed.. Have you seen any Saudi Woman protesting or even saying such a thing on Social Media.. never right... because they aremch more than happy ovr der... Saudi Arabia has not been in any personal war against any country in last like 100yrs or so now.. it maintains peace inthat region and even with the USA..People are happy there with the govt as it is a welfare state which provides all the basic necessities to its citizens such as shelter ,healthcare ,job security and most importantly not a single penny of any person is taxed.. There is no Taxation system and all the facilities can be availed for free... I am not a Saudi and my father has been an expatriate in saudi arabia for mor than 2 decades now and i feel much more comfortable and safe in saudi arabia than i do in my own country..# PEACE

"Fun" is unislamic...unless you're a man. Also, I thought true muslims are supposed to be austere and live the way the prophet lived? There is no doubt that in Saudi Arabia you live a life of extravagance and luxury! Saudis get FREE health care and education up to the PHD level you can go to any collage of your choice such as (Harvard, MIT, Yale,.....) if you get accepted of course under the governments expense! You don't have to pay a dime! They also give you a monthly allowance to help you buy your necessities, you also don't have to pay tax like other countries and almost everything is dirt cheep you can feed a family with only 2 euros! And talking breakfast, lunch and dinner! You also get housekeepers and drivers. Now tell me again who has a better life style? Even expats love it here. They get to live in compounds that is exactly like living outside of Saudi Arabia (you said the "religion police" will come and make a huge fuss over wine) if you are not a Muslim you can do as you please, in compounds you don't have to wear the abaya or the head scarf women can drive you can go out in a bikini for all they care and you can also drink alcoholic beverages. So please don't mistake RELIGION with customs it's completely different. Thank you.

      LoveMusic &Life Everything the government provides in Saudi Arabia is paid for through oil revenues. You don't have to pay tax because there's just no need to while there are trillions of dollars flooding in.
      Guess what happens when the oil runs out...
      "You also get housekeepers and drivers. Now tell me who has a better life style?"
      Firstly, do the housekeepers and drivers have housekeepers and drivers too, or do they just not count as human beings?
      Secondly, we all know how famous the Saudis are for treating their servants well...(sarcasm).
      If the Mutawas thought they could get away with it they'd burn those compounds to the ground. The only reason they're not allowed to is because the Saudi royal family need to appear at least a little bit civilised.
      I didn't mix religion with customs... Both are a massive problem for Saudi society and the world in general.

      Yes I agree, we get our money from our oil. And yes one day it will run out, when is that? Maybe in 10, 40,..more years? By that time (thankfully for me) I'll already be graduated and starting a life for myself. As for the other Saudi people with all this wealth in our country most of us still live in the desert, so technically we will be going back to our old roots. Look at our old king, king Faisal (May he rest in peace) he threatened to stop sending oil to the US and they asked what would we do without their money the king simply replied "go back to our old roots" simple. But the question is what will you do without our oil? And from how frightened they were they had the king assassinated.
      Of course they are human beings I never implied they weren't, so please don't put words in my mouth. I'm talking about Saudis not people that come from poor countries searching for a job. And don't say we don't treat our help with kindness, I have had my housekeeper with me for years! She's like a sister to me, we have had her since I was 6 years old 11 years ago. She travels with us we buy her gifts she is literally like the sister I have never had. As for my driver as well we treat him with respect and kindness. I'm not saying all Saudis are this way, but people in general aren't all like that you are implying that Saudis don't treat people with respect, don't generalize because not ALL of them do. But on the other hand there are people all around the world that don't treat people with respect. There is racism and cruel, mean, cold hearted people around the world, don't just point the finger at the "Saudis". I know what sarcasm is by the way. I'm Saudi not retarded...
      And you know this from personal experience I assume? Have you ever been to Saudi Arabia? How do you judge a country if you have never been to it. For your information they are very respectful. Me as a Saudi I choose not to wear the head scarf they simply approach me and ask me to put on my head scarf I say "inshallah" which means "if gods willing" and they walk away. You make it seem like they come and smack you with a whip and harass you tell you put it on or do what they want. Times are changing and so are people. You have no idea how much Saudi Arabia is changing take it from a girl that's living in Saudi
      How is it a problem? I don't find it a problem at all. But I live here. If you take a polar bear and put it in a desert it's not going to adapt it's like putting a camel in the North Pole. What I mean is you can't take a person and put them in an environment and surroundings they are not used to and expect it to adapt.

      LoveMusic &Life Oh I see... So it's a case of "pull up the ladder, Jack. I'm alright" then is it?
      Well I put it to you that if the Saudi regime ever did cut off oil supplies to the west then the western media would suddenly have a lot to say about the human rights record in Saudi Arabia... It wouldn't take much to convince people that the royal family had to go. That's how this whole mafia style client state business works, remember? Your king gives the mafia what they want or they'll come and burn down his house.
      Well I hope Saudi Arabia is changing, though no real change is possible in a society like that. I'm sorry to offend, but it just isn't.
      It's a problem because both religion and tradition are meant to preserve a crooked and unfair system. It's the same in every country.

You can't drive, you can't sing, you are considered half a man in law (even a male fetus), you have to have hijab, you can't have relationship with opposite sex while most of Saudi guys do and many more ... and the sad thing is that not only you don't try to change it, but you keep saying that you are happy with that! Saudi Arabia has to be the safest for women, and also the unfairest at the same time. Our religion teaches us to not go around opening our legs to men like American women do, and we have such a low rate of abortion and children with no rightful fathers. We sure do have a lot of problems, yes. But Saudi Arabia is still a developing country, and perhaps isn't open minded to homosexuals and women driving but it does hold a dear spot in my heart and always will. God blessed us with the oil to have us wealthy, and never of those Least Developed Countries, we will one day see our country rise upon countries and be a More Developed Country, we just have to be patient and educated, and please simply ignore pathetic and attention-seeking comments from some random guy/girl that calls themselves an American, when if actually DNA tested, you'd see they're also Scottish, Mexican, Irish, Cuban... etc. They call themselves rightful Americans when in reality they got more countries in their blood than they have fingers on both hands and yet they're racist, it's ironically pathetic.

      Minbae Kim I just find it funny that you compare tribal country with the west country. You said that blood of Americans are mixed. As a Saudi you might find it weird but in West society we used to marry by love, not by tribe. So DNA test tells nothing wrong. You call them racist. Fine! Then tell me please how do you call black people there? write it in arabic and we will translate it together. Speaking about racism, do you know that there are 70.000 stateless people who were born in KSA and they don't have passports or documents. Do you know why they are stateless? google it! It's a fact that Saudi Arabia has worst human right records in the world.
      You can write whatever you want, after all you are right I am just a username.

    wow all this hate on saudi... before anyone starts talking shit, please ask yourself this question: are the things i hate about saudi true things that i have seen with my own eyes? or was it something that i heard someone say to someone else...
    I'm sad that in the year 2014 people can still be manipulated by "facts" taken out of context and turned into something completely different. We -as humans- should be getting more enlightened and educated. We should differentiate between facts and claims. We should be critical and skeptical... not brainwashed...
