- We always wanted a hammock or a swing in our yard but we don’t have a good spot to hang one. Having a pergola is the answer so we decided to build it this spring when the weather is cool and not humid for a yard work. We spent a little less than a gran for this project and it’s worth it. Our family loves it and it’s now our favorite area to hang out and roast hotdogs and s’mores!

Wow sissy.
A year late how did the post hold up with was thinking of the the same post size and hole size .. to save on $ and labor lol … I notice other diys doing 12feet post with 3 foot hole ! And the post with the egg swing that’s the post you but a beam on top ? Or all of them have a beam on top ?
Hi! So happy to have found this video, this is exactly what we want to do with our fire pit. What size of posts did you use? How far down did you put them in the ground? and is there anything you'd recommend we do differently now that you have it done? THANK YOU!
Hi Im glad you liked it! We used 4x6x10 for the posts and it’s 23” deep. But you can use 6x6 instead. Our ground is uneven here in TN so we just worked the measurements out. ☺️
I know this video is old but thought I would chime in that if anyone is looking to do something like this buy your gravel from a landscaping supply store it will save you a lot of money
What was the spacing between the posts
I think it’s 7 feet apart
What was a rough cost of this project?
It’s less than 2k
