  • Bhagavad Gita 18.26 - Chapter 18 Text 26
    BG 18.26
Hi, my name is Deepika, you can also call me Dee. This playlist and project are to study the Bhagavad Gita, one verse per video, one video per day. Since the scripture has 700 verses, this is an approximately two year project.
I started this effort of studying the Bhagvad Gita from multiple sources, from the impersonalist Advaita perspective as well as the personalist Dvaita perspective, in February 2023. The goal for me was to study the Gita from multiple sources, to get as accurate an understanding of the Gita as I can, to understand God's direct words as authentically as I can, to share that with you, to learn from the greats and to ask questions, to expand my consciousness, and hopefully through the process of asking questions, find some answers eventually to lead us to God.
Having gone through this process and having heard people like Swami Sarvapriyananda from the Advaita school of thought, who has helped deepen my understanding immensely, I have chosen my path as the one outlined by Srila Prabhupada and have now become a firm believer in the personalist Dvaita perspective. My goal is to attain Krishna prem through Krishna bhakti and go to Krishna lok (Krishna's abode, which is Goloka Vrindavan in the spiritual sky), since I now firmly believe that Krishna bhagvan says in the Gita that that is the ultimate perfection of life.
This is the Gaudiya Vaishnavism school of thought, or the bhakti path. My personal growth world focuses more on following our heart rather than our heads, which feels very right and good to me, and since the bhakti path is all about love, this path feels very aligned to me. I therefore spend time volunteering at and praying at the Isckon temple. The movement is more widely known as the Hare Krishna movement.
I would love to meet like minded people through this effort, so please feel free to reach out if you feel inspired to. It will help me continue to feel motivated to create and post these videos and deepen my study and share it. You can reach out either by commenting on these videos or emailing at radhakrishnprem@protonmail.com.
I am doing a multi pronged approach to do an in-depth study the Bhagvad Gita.
    1. I am studying one verse daily, which is the one I'm uploading here.
    2. To deepen my understanding I am taking one Chapter at a time and listening to multiple lectures on each verse, mostly by Isckon preachers. I have started with Chapter 3. After I feel complete with that Chapter I will start on the next one.
In my videos I talk about all the insights I get from all sources and I try to remember to share as much as I can.
    Resources:
    1. Isckon - Srila Prabhupada: His entire 'Bhagvad Gita As It Is' has been uploaded on this very easy to read website for your reference. vedabase.io/en.... He is a Gaudiya Vaishnava. Vaishnava means he believes that the ultimate truth is Krishna bhakti, or devotion, and this takes us to the highest peak or spiritual delights. Gaudiya Vaishnavism means the school of thought that believes that the Madhurya ras, or the connection with Krishna through the form of becoming is lover, is the highest perfection even amongst the various forms of loving Krishna, such as the Shanta ras (peace), Dasya ras (servant), Sakhya ras (friend), Vatsalya ras (parental love), and Madhurya ras (lover). This follows Caitanya mahaprabhu's teachings from 500 years ago, and the main tenet of bhakti is the chanting of the mahamantra Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare as the primary means to obtain Krishna bhakti.
    2. Swami Mukundanada - the entire Bhagvad Gita has been uploaded in this very easy to read website. www.holy-bhaga.... He is also a Vaishnava, which means he believes also in Krishna bhakti and Krishna prem. As far as I understand the main difference between him and Srila Prabhupada is that he does not believe in chanting the mahamantra as the primary means to obtain Krishna bhakti.
    3. Bhaktivinod Thakur's translation.
