The 70s definitely had a LOT of variety shows. Some ranged from classics (ex. "The Carol Burnett Show") to best forgotten ("Pink Lady and Jeff"). I was a Captain & Tenille fan, so even if the show's humor wasn't the highest quality, the music was cool for me. I think their show only lasted one season, so I guess I was in the minority. As far as the Angels go, the original 3 will always be my favorites.
I WAS A KID OF THE 70S SEEMS LIKE BACK IN THOSES DAYS LIFE WAS SO MUCH SLOWER TIME DIDN'T FLY BY SO FAST I LOVED SO MANY SHOW'S FROM BACK THEN CHARLIE'S ANGLE'S BEENING ONE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN BIONIC WOMAN WONDER WOMAN AND SO MANY MORE BUT IT MADE YOU WANT TO GO OUTSIDE AND PLAY RUN JUMP MAN IT WAS SO FUN WISH I COULD GO BACK LOVE AND MISS THE 70S
..."Charlie's Angels" was BRAND SPANKIN' NEW when this aired Sept., of 1976....Kate's doing her best 'Jive Talkin' Mama' bit, here (2:35) / (2:25)... they all look SO ELEGANT!
LUV THESE THREE GORGEOUS WOMEN TOGETHER KATE JACKSON AND FARRAH FAWCETT AND JACKLYN SMITH 🤗🤗 YOU CAN TELL THAT THEY REALLY ARE FRIENDS IN REAL LIFE 🤗🤩🤩
The Charlie's Angels crew must have had a busy 1976! With the first season of Austin City Limits under their belt, the three leading actresses of the show, Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith, made an appearance on Captain and Tennille's variety show. The Captain and Tennille variety show had aired earlier that year on ABC, the same network that premiered Charlie's Angels that year. I wish I could have seen this episode of Captain and Tennille. It must have been a treat for the audience!👍
Farrah and Jacqui both did hair commercials. Farrah had her own collection of Farrah Fawcett shampoo and conditioner with vitamins and herbs. Videos are available on YT. And women had beautiful hair back in the 70s because they CARED about their appearance. Now women are WYMEN, fat, tattooed, foul-mouthed and consider themselves ??equal?? to men. And they wonder why men run a mile from them........There is now a 'new' movement referred to as 'leveling-up' where some ladies are trying to regain their femininity. Sad to think they ever lost it when you see these lovely ladies. The good old days.
They were ALL drop dead gorgeous! Kate Jackson is an underrated beauty. Because she was no Barbie Doll. One of the many reasons why I love her. Beautiful and charismatic woman and boy could she act ❤️ Kate Jackson anytime 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Farrah fawcett and Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson are charlies angels these girls are the best superstars on television I remember watching charlies angels when I was a kid I growing up with my favorite show on television 📺
FARRAH FAWCETT KATE JACKSON AND JACLYN SMITH ALL WERE FANTASTIC TOGETHER AND THE ORIGINAL CHARLIE'S ANGELS AND THE BEST 🤗🤗 I DIDN'T WATCH THE SHOW AFTER FARRAH LEFT IT WASN'T THE SAME 😫🧐
In 1977 the US population was 220 Million. Out of that 220 million, 1 person was deemed to be the most talented to write television comedy. This skit was the crap that that person was paid big $$ to write.
Look at that beautiful Christmassy outfit Ms Toni is wearing. i like it. She looks so ... Sears catalog. Nice hair, modest jewelry, coordinated colors. She looks very nice.
I'm 55 now and a grandpa and I had the poster of Farah and the action figure of 6 million dollar man although bought at different years 🤔 ,anyway after my (action figure days ) these ladies were my 1st crush other then Ginger and Mary Ann...😟😊
I'm sure Kate was cringing throughout this whole skit. The skits they came up with on these variety shows back in the 70's were so bad and cheesy, right down to the canned laughter, and were just pure filler just to present the celebrities of the day. Captain and Tennille were too good and talented to be part of this craze...having said this, I'd still rather have this than the garbage they shove down our throats today,..like too much reality television.
Laugh tracks were needed here - because no audience would have laughed at this. Parts of the 70's are nostalgic, but this is just bad TV. Which is why even back in the 70's this show didn't last.
Ben Dover All shows weren't THIS bad! lol. This skit is embarrassing. But yes, there were a lot of garbage variety shows like this, including the abortive BRADY BUNCH VARIETY HOUR and others.
Jack Bauer The networks were capitalizing on the success of these artists. They were milking it as far as they could. The artists were also grabbing all they could before their time in the spotlight was over and the money stream dried up. MANY music artists had there own variety shows/specials back then: Sonny and Cher, John Denver, The Carpenters, Donny and Marie, etc. They were ALL like this... it was the formula back then. Their music was great, but these tv shows were often corny, campy, silly and filled with lousy jokes. Remember, it was the 70's.
@@fool4singing Farrah was a supreme Goddess no doubt about that. But they were all extraordinary beauties who were unique and majestic. How much today's sour and charmless world could use their elegance and charm to make it a brighter place.
@@tedhellirand8383 When Kate left, the ratings went downhill. Seasons 4 and 5 were a parody. The magic was gone without Kate. She was the one who co-created Charlie's Angels! She was a superb actress that got nominated for the Emmy awards. Not just once but twice. For a show like Charlie's Angels! That's a testament to her amazing acting skills. She was the best and most experienced actress, the best Angel. The woman was irreplaceable.
A happy time back then. Frivolous TV reflects a culture at ease. We were poor but didn’t know it.
I grew up with them.. Brings back such great memories! There was some sort of magic about the 70's, maybe I'm just remembering the good about it.
It was a magic time.No doubt about that.

I miss these shows. Great job by all.

I miss the 70s too. They were great.
Charlies Angeles on Captain and Tennille is a charming example of the 1970s TV variety show with plenty of sax and violins
The ladies ARE spectacular !!
..."Charlie's Angels" was BRAND SPANKIN' NEW when this aired Sept., of 1976....Kate's doing her best 'Jive Talkin' Mama' bit, here (2:35) / (2:25)... they all look SO ELEGANT!
This was back during the fall 76/77 season on a Monday night, I remember it very well. I was 10 yrs old @ the time. Thanks for the memories.
Each woman had such a unique voice: Farrah's was exciting and fun, Jacklyn's was warm and sultry, and Kate's was deep and caring.
No upspeak and no vocal fry.
A tip: watch series on Kaldrostream. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Mathias Uriel Yea, I've been watching on Flixzone} for years myself :D

The Angel's style of dress is all time classic.
Todas lindas! Verdadeiro show de beleza e graca. Saudade.
The angels look so marvelous here! My favourite moment is 2:40 when Kate makes Farrah and Jackie laugh.
Never saw this! So cute.
so cute....cause they are so beautiful.
I love Kate's voice!
Me too,..always had a slight crackle to it,..very sexy.
Lol

God bless Farrah. May she Rest In Peace. God bless Daryl, too.
Now, it all seems so innocent. Farrah, Jaclyn & Kate are stunning. They were the original OG Angels.
There were 6 OG tv Angels.
THey were Supreme

Incredibly shiny healthy looking hair in those days compared to today.
Yes why don't we see any shiny, full hair today?
If I remember correctly, at least one of the Angels did shampoo commercials.
Farrah and Jacqui both did hair commercials. Farrah had her own collection of Farrah Fawcett shampoo and conditioner with vitamins and herbs. Videos are available on YT. I still adore Farah Fawcett, Toni Tennille and Diana Ross. Three Supreme Ladies.
Both Kate and Toni are from Alabama.
"YA GOT A DEAL NEAL, COME ON IN!"
BEAUTIFUL FARRAH FAWCETT..R.I.P. 🙏🙏 MISS YOU ICON 😥😥
Who knew that Kate Jackson had some soul to her voice!
Frank Scott Course she did.
I always loved Kate's voice and still do! Her voice is sexy, cool, has warmth to it and yes, soul!
Kate had A LOT OF SOUL to her voice :)
SHE'S FROM ALABAMA!
So is Toni Tennille.
What would 70's shows have done without teleprompters! Every entertainment show back in the 70's has all the actors looking like they still do on SNL.
That was cool
That was so cute! I love the Happy Ending!
Jaclyn Smith is Drop Dead Georgeus! And Farrah Fawcett is.. DANG!
I was thinking exactly the same
And Kate is very charismatic and also drop dead gorgeous!

This skit was even better than The Bionic Watermelon!
JILL IS JUST BEING SO FUNNY 😂
Wow, this stuff looks so ridiculous today; But I loved it in the 70's
Ridiculous because people don't have a sense of humor anymore and take life too dam serious bro.
It's still good
To be honest, Daryl Dragon hated most of the comedy the network insisted they do.
From the night 🌚 of November 22, 1976, which originally aired 💨 at 8 🕗 pm Eastern on ABC.
love you Jaclyn

Charlie’s ANGELS AND TENIELE SHOW ARE SO FUNNIE
So funny ...thanks
TV had 13 channels back then, but it was better than the hundreds of channels with nothing but garbage today.

2:02 Whoops!

Jaclyn Smith one of the most beautiful woman ever all natural Beauty
This was cool.
Kids, this is the type of entertainment you get when you only have 3 channels on the TV to choose from.
My favorite part was where the PUA had no idea what to do when his schtick actually worked. Funny because true.

Why the first 3 girls don't want him?
Too much Sax and Violins on television! LOL
LMFAO this is just as funny as Jimmy Fallon's 'Peanuts'.
What can I say about this video that hasn't already been said?
Why does Daryl dragon look like Ted Bundy here
The only good part of this skit is seeing the original Charlie's Angels. Otherwise, it's not funny. It's actually kinda sad.
what’s sad about it?
