What a fantastic video. Just what I wanted and so clearly explained. Well done and thanks.
I'm very happy you found it helpful 🙏
beautiful. perfect. thank you. this is exactly what i have been looking for.
I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial!
Awesome, many thanks. I've learnt a great deal from watching, listening, and learning. Fantastic explanations of the synthesis engine. 👍👍👍
I'm glad you found it helpful! 🙏
Loved loved loved this video. Can't wait to start creating my own sounds and instruments. Thank you. I have been using pre-made instruments so far.
I'm happy you're inspired to make your own sounds now!
If Vulture Culture would have his own church, I’d go there every Sunday. :) Thank you very much, Vulture Culture, for another great video!
Hahahaha you're welcome ⛪🕊️✨
Thank you
That Greek Composer is "Elsewhere" now
RIP Vangelis

You should have an oscilloscope on screen, it will better explain filters envelopes etc. good luck with the channel I'm a bit to advanced for this, but would say this is a good classroom friendly style which will help a lot of people new to synthesis :)
Appreciate the good luck 🙏
Greetings from Madrid . Thia class is awesome.
So glad you're finding it helpful!
Just found this video via the discoDSP homepage. With regard to the number of views and the number of likes, this is a very underrated video. It sums up perfectly what I've learned with Syntorial so far and puts it into an OB-Xd perspective. I like your very clear and orderly presentation of all the elements that make up the basic synth sounds. Thank you very much and of course I subbed your channel.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed this video. Any ideas of what I should do as a follow-up?
Top notch exposition and teaching. You did an excellent job explaining the components of synthesis, the character of different sounds, how these relate, and the strategies for creating different sounds.
Thank you very much 🙏 I'd been getting requests from live stream viewers to do a basics explainer
Great explanation is entertaining and informative. Your explanation is perfect, though! ❤
I'm glad you found it helpful!
My mono/poly obsession led me to your channel. Such quality content and teaching here. Thanks
Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying the channel 🙏
Thank you! Thank you!! This is a true Master Class
I'm so happy you found it helpful!
Hey! Super interesting video, I learned it so much that I had to watch twice the full 95 minutes to take notes of the patch ideas 😅 Just a comment though: I think at 1:02:00 when you try to change the waveform for the kick drum, you don't see the difference with a square wave because you are changing the waveform of oscillator 1, which is off! Changing the waveform on oscillator 2 makes a noticeable difference indeed, with kind of an overdriven/distorted effect
Whoopsie daisy 😅 Nice catch!
A really awesome tutorial.... much appreciated, thank you!
I'm so glad you found it helpful!
Alwys the student. This rocked and unlocked a vital piece I needed to understand. thank you man!
So glad you found it helpful! 🙏
Any further tutorials you'd like to see?
Ahhh and your plug-in... is like the Boss CE300.... but for free..
Nice...
Feel free to enjoy it!
Ah, very nice! Cool stuff! I started to doubt myself at 11:10 thinking; that sounds like an octave. A fat octave none the less. So yeah, I get you confused it for a fifth! But I got it from the (second) octave you went for! 😂 All good stuff and great tips!
Yes! I'm not especially good at this 🤣
@@VultureCulture me neither...
Good video. I over-reached by getting a Roland System 8 (a Deepmind would have been better for my level), so this content should help me get to grips with it a bit more. I do know some stuff, but have trouble putting it together.
Yeah it can be difficult, and a powerful synth like S8 has knobs / faders that do multiple things, which can be confusing.
This is great. You taught the topics clearly. I might have to buy the iOS version. 🤔
I believe both versions are free with an optional donation :)
Hi there VC Hurricane wife made me move my studio out of our master bedroom to a different area in our home, ordering a new gaming desk to organize my things !!!happy Sunday to every one we’ll have to watch your class during available time. Have a have pleasant day everyone. 😎👍🎹
Hey Zombo! I hope you enjoy the video - let me know what you think 🙏
@@VultureCulture I was watching a bit of it. It looks very informative and I like the way you’re taking this time to educate not only myself but everyone else who wants to learn really more into synthesis. Thank you for publishing this video.
@TheZombo66 hell yeah!
@@VultureCulture 😎🙏🎹
1:02:05 the problem was that you activated the square on oscillator 1 and it was at zero volume in the mixer.
Well caught! Can't believe I missed that 🤦♀️
🫵🫵🫵 You ROCK Bro 🙏🙏🙏 you're the best. Peace from Paris.
You ROCK! 🙏
Mezcal! we have so much in common lo!
I'm a big fan!
During my experience with this product, I noticed a technical flaw in the waveform generation. While watching this tutorial video, I decided to measure the waveforms being demonstrated. To my disappointment, I found that the same incorrect patterns were being generated as I observed in my own usage. It's concerning to encounter such inconsistencies, and I hope this feedback helps improve the product's performance. I don't recommend and dislike this video.
What's the technical flaw?
Super Tute. Got any Mesc left...?😊
Killed that bottle.
@@VultureCulture Yeah, my inspiration goes down the plug-hole pretty quickly, too 😄
Great video man, i just downloaded the OB-Xd installed it opened my DAW "Fl. Studio" and no sound but sounds in Standalone mode! LOL
Really?? Try V2
@@VultureCulture worst case scenario I have the Prophet X with the 8Dio OBX expansion I’ll use that lol‼️🙏🏾
Hahahaha
@@VultureCulture Ok so I ended up purchasing the license for the $49 and now it’s working on FL Studio‼️🔥
@fayzmusikTV nice!
Great approach, thanks for your time and passion. ❤👌🏽🎹🎛️🎚️🎼
Appreciate you Gato!
Are you going to include sync and cross modulation?
Any analog? What about the modulation matrix? :)
This does include sync and cross mod as well as some basic modulation matrix stuff. Obviously modulation matrices can get incredibly complicated.
Hey, that was good. I have an Xpander...but you showed the basiccs.
Glad you found it helpful! I am envious of your Xpander! What an incredible instrument
I'm impressed at how far along "virtual synths" have come in the past 20 years.
You have some really nice real analog synths too. Still jonesing for that Polyvox.@@VultureCulture
Can you make a quick one on how to save patch and the midi with it. Everybody show the sound but not the basic. I tried to save sounds i created but i don't find them. Thanks
I'm not aware of how to save the midi file with the patch, aside from saving a project in your DAW.
You also save your sound in your DAW, that's the nature of VST3 plugins. What DAW do you use?
@@VultureCulture Cubase element 10. I got another question . I have a question. I put my midi track. I'm in E minor but even my OSC1 and 2 are at -12 keytrack at zéro coarse at zéro it's still half tone lower. Do you have an idea why ? Even fine tune is at zéro. Why it play half tone lower than my midi file ? Thanks
@nicolasroy6654 did you check global course and fine tune too?
@@VultureCulture Yes. Everything that can change the pitch is already check...i realy don't understand. I got near 20 years of experience in VST but now...i realy don't know why. Thanks
@nicolasroy6654 sorry man! I'm stumped! If you figure it out let me know!
The DiscoDSP version of OB-Xd is no longer free, but you can still grab an old source commit and build it yourself.
That's not true, I just checked the site and the download is for free. There's a suggested donation for $50 but it's not required.
@@VultureCulture Oh, really? That's new to me that it was only "suggested".
Still though, they have made it less "free" by retroactively adding all kinds of restrictions on the project.
@_DRMR_ I haven't run into a single restriction since downloading and using it.
@@VultureCultureThat's because you don't use the source-code.
@Vultureculture when for mac?
ObX-d is available for Mac now
