My husband has been dealing with what I believe is schizophrenia (his grandfather had it from a young age) and I'm trying to cope with the changes it has brought into our life without hurting him. He is a true believer and is in the word every day-its so heartbreaking because he doesn't believe there is anything wrong and I don't want our children and our marriage to suffer. Your description of pain and suffering not only applies to the suffering he is experiencing in his illness, but also the suffering we are experiencing in our family. I will remember your words.
