James snapping was kind of expected, he was the only one out of the three that didn’t really want to go through with the strike. I’m honestly surprised we didn’t start the episode with James getting pissy with Gordon and gradually having his anger build up
Too bad his ego got in the way of it. Also, even if he didn't join them, there's no guarantee that he'd actually be _the_ express engine. He'd probably have to double-head with Edward, or be stuck with goods trains.
I adore how Percy is handled here. He may be a little naive, but he's eager to help out and not afraid to stand up for himself. At the same time, his little backstory in the other railway was quite sad. That way, it became so satisfying for him to have an actual home on Sodor. It was so heartwarming. As always, the rest of the engines are written brilliantly. It's nice to see Thomas go through another humbling experience even after gaining his branch line. It was also nice to see James step up and apologize for the strike. Even Edward admits that he worries too much. The best thing about the Trampy movies is how it amplifies the heart of Awdry's storytelling; we can easily identify with each of the engines' personality. You've managed to make these stories more relatable and even wholesome.
Percy's character reminds my of perrito from puss in boots last wish. A cute little sweetheart who's too naive and oblivious to realize how tragic his story is.
I found it funny when James screamed “Shut up”. Screamed the sheds down, practically. Plus I found it funny when Thomas was being childish. I also like the hypothetical backstory of Percy.
Hearing about Percy's backstory here is rather sad, but I'm glad he has a new home on Sodor! Thomas certainly deserved that reality check on that hill, but I do agree that he and Edward were at fault. Also, James snapping at the beginning is amazing! He's finally had enough of the two big engines, and it's so cathartic to see! Lastly, the Fat Controller's speech at the end is very heartwarming. I can agree that they're lucky to have him as their controller, especially in later years when Dieselization takes hold of British Railways. Another banger, Trampy! I love it! Keep up the good work, but make sure to take care of yourself as well! As Topham Hatt puts it, "Don't strain yourself!"
Very much disagree with the point about Thomas and Edward both being at fault. Sure MAYBE Edward COULDVE kept his cool a bit more but Thomas by and large was being a douche most of this episode and even taking it out on Edward even before the hill incident. Hell, if anything Edward was probably TOO lenient.
Well, that’s because he’s tired of Gordon treating him like shit. Hope that was clear. And what do you mean that Thomas is a jerk?! He’s just standing up for himself against the neighborhood bully, Gordon! 😠
Considering we all know them today as best friends, it would be interesting if they started out on poor terms. Not to mention Thomas can be as much of a jerk as Henry, Gordon and James.
@@tonybusch8771 That’s the thing. Thomas isn't standing up for himself all the time. He's capable of being as much of an asshole as Gordon. He more or less brought his misfortune on himself in Tricked. He deliberately stalled the express and mouthed off to the Fat Controller.
"I'm filling in for his brainline" is the sickest Percy Burn I have ever heard Edit: "We will never have you sleep in any sidings, ever" oh my foreshadowed heart ;^;
Definitely my favourite episode yet. Genuinely really profound work. To James finally taking a stand and his coming out moment. To Percy's ditty and innocent charming personality and connecting with Annie and Clarabelle on a good level And to Thomas learning that the number one isn't just purely a symbol for being best and biting him in the back later on. You write these characters in such a way that makes them feel appealing but implementing more additional character to them is absolutely impeccable. I feel like there is more to Percy than meets the eye. But we'll see that when it comes around.
Man, I just watched the first 3 mins and had to rewind because I loved the beginning so much. James taking the stand was moment of truth and Thomas roasting Gordon was hilarious. Def episode by far!!
Okay, I just want to say a few things so sorry if I ramble a bit. 1). I can say that, without a doubt, this is one of the BEST rewrites of the Thomas series and makes me wish that this was the actual reboot. The way in which each character is unique and feels like an actual person, both human and metal, is something that is very difficult but you managed to pull it off. 2). Thomas is such a little shit before his season 4 character growth and it shows here. The way in which he taunts the big engines, in addition as to how both his ego and sense of worth has increased after receiving his branch line is in character for him at this point in his character arc. I was a bit surprised as to how he reacted to Percy, but it fits his character at the moment, and how his ego bit him on the bunker on the hill was the cherry on top for this episode. You can feel the remorse as he apologizes to Edward, and you reaffirm the bond that these two share. 3). Edward deserves a branch line at this point just for dealing with everyone’s bullcrap and a brand new coat of paint. You really do Awdry’s first character justice in a way the main show hasn’t done in years. 4). Nice to see that James’ character arc is showing itself when he put Gordon in his place concerning the strike. I do hope that he gets another chance because he felt the most remorseful when apologizing to STH about the strike. 5). Now, we get into the the little green caterpillar with red stripes himself, Percy. Can I just say that I want to wrap this version of Percy in a blanket and protect from the world. Even though he gives clues as to a pretty rough working environment before coming to Sodor, Percy still retains an innocence and caring side to him that’ll feel like a breath of fresh air as compared to Thomas’ grouchy attitude. I do wonder if you’ll keep dropping hints that Percy’s previous railway treated him poorly because I can see this coming up after Duck arrives. I can see Percy dropping information like how at least the big engines didn’t force him to sleep outside or something like that. I’m not asking you to write a scene like that, but it would be interesting how Percy starts to realize that the way he was treated before arriving at Sodor was toxic.
This was honestly such a great episode. How Percy is portrayed in this episode is amazing, how Thomas acted throughout this episode shows how him having his Branchline gave him a bit of an ego and him insulting Percy when he first met him was funny and makes more sense than just them becoming friends when they first met like in Season 1, and having Henry and James roast Gordon was hilarious. 10/10
This installment has taken the "A new character shows up and Thomas doesn't like them" trope introduced in Series 7 and done something new with it. I've always said that everyone in Trampy's takes (except Edward, the Fat Controller and now Percy) is morally grey. Gordon is a pompous dick, but Thomas is a bolshy twerp. We've all gotten so used to seeing Thomas as the underdog overcoming the bullies, that him becoming a bully himself seems implausible. But here we are, and I adore how it's portrayed. Thomas stops by the sheds to gloat about how the big engines' selfishness has landed them in trouble. It's typical Thomas banter and completely warranted. The moment he sees Percy, though? Thomas starts unnecessarily putting him down. He's only just met the new engine and gives a terrible first impression. It's not because Percy has never run a branch line before, but because he’s smaller than Thomas. We're seeing Thomas projecting all the taunts the likes of Gordon have sent his way onto the new engine, simply because he's slightly bigger. If Strike mentioning how Thomas is going too fast and too early foreshadows the adaptations of him leaving the Guard behind and racing Bertie, then his attitude now foreshadows how he'll act. After going from being a station pilot to running his own part of the line with his own coaches, Thomas becomes cocky and arrogant. In the Railway Series, he gets humbled by a chapter of silly mistakes and that's it. Here, he's in genuine danger of turning into another Gordon: becoming what he has complained about throughout these movies. That's why I love how this episode is essentially a sequel to Edward. Only this time, it's Thomas who's the antagonist. Also, Edward will stop double heading trains because his partner acts up.
Technically that trope existed since the railway series books, lol. And it's almost always tank engines. He's been hostile to percy, duck, arthur, Stanley, Rosie, Ryan, etc. The only new tank engines he wasn't mean to off rip were Oliver (who was the steam engine equivalent of a war vet) and Belle (who thomas wasn't threatened by because he knew she'd be too busy fighting fires to pull coaches). I don't count Charlie and Billy because Charlie and Billy do not exist.
The opening of everyone ragging on Gordon was perfect- and then Thomas rolls up purely to rub the salt in. The faces you chose absolutely cracked me up. Edward still bein the mature one really balances it all out too, and his interactions with Percy are just so sweet. Then Thomas rolls in and it becomes a laugh fest all over again. I love the way you write Percy, he's not just naive but charmingly innocent- he's seen the world but it just washes over him like a puppy that's too happy to be here to care. I also love that you've already set up his habit of spooking the big engines. Then there's Thomas getting a big head from his branch line and being too egotistical to like a new engine at first until Percy proves himself. You still have one of the best takes on Sir Topham Hatt I've seen- he's so fatherly with the engines. He knows they can be stubborn and downright idiots at times, but he's still understanding and forgiving when they've learned their lesson. He cares about them too much to scrap any of them, no matter how unruly they get, and we all already know that makes the NWR an exception to the rule. That little 'you don't know how good you have it' is wonderfully chilling foreshadowing to how dieselfication on the mainland is going loom large over the plot even when it doesn't impact Sodor directly.
Probably my favorite installment so far. It’s so nice seeing Edward yet again being a mentor to the new guy. Dropping little bits of information about Percy’s pre-sodor life here and there was great too. The ending at the sheds was fantastic too. Love that Henry didn’t share the enthusiasm towards Percy. Makes me wonder what he plans to do later on… keep it up Trampy! Your telling a wonderful story here!
And once again, your movie shines with greatness. Time to geek out. -I saw that preview on Twitter so many times, and it still is great here. I especially like how Gordon still isn't entirely agreeing on tender engines shunting by the end, and instead of forcing others around, James and Henry force him to say what they said instead, no longer even siding with him at that point. We call that karma. -Thomas actually needing to learn again once he's on the mainline makes sense. Since the tender engines went on strike, he has no one bossing him about and, even with Edward around, he feels like he can do what he want, like running late just to tease the engines in the shed. -The green caterpillar with red stripes himself is here and he's an oblivious but precious little guy. He didn't even seem to really care about Thomas' insults ("I've got TWO names?!"). Makes me wonder how Trampy's gonna make the story "Thomas, Percy and the Coal" work with what he has, since those two are bickering in that one compared to right now (Though, maybe Percy will get some development in between here and that story to make it work). -Even when I saw the Percy Wheesh coming, I still chuckled. Maybe it's how the scene was delivered? -Henry's got a grudge on Percy, and I'm wondering what Trampy's gonna do with this little detail in the future. What episode could it be? We shall find out in the future. Yeah I'm probably gonna do this everytime a movie's made. These are too well made. Keep up the great work, Trampy!
Oh yeah and I also like how Henry's line before getting scared parallels his first line in Percy takes the Plunge. Even with a different context, it works!
I’m honestly pretty excited for the potential rivalry between Henry and Percy because I don’t think they got to fully interact with each other in both the RWS and the show so that’s a nice new change Trampy added that I can’t wait to see more of!
20:54 I just love this small tugs reference/similar line when Percy is welcomed to the railway. He's also the second one to get an episode named after him. Edit: edited cause i forgot that Edward was the first to get an episode named after him. Percy is the second
Percy bout to make me cry. He's too much of an innocent bean. Edit: "We've been running this railway for 6 years, Ted." Since the railway was built in 1915, this one takes place in 1921.
0:45 I was not expecting James to lose his shit at the beginning. It truly shows that he just wants to be one of the big bois. Then Thomas arrives and gets in on the fun.🤣 4:12 Also hearing Percy say hello to Edward was so cute. I love him for how much younger he is compared to the others. He’s like the Tails to Thomas’ Sonic and while he may not be as smart, he looks up to Thomas. Percy’s so damn cute. 🥰
Percy’s character is sooo perfect here it’s amazing! The innocence in his voice and his speech is amazing!!!!!!! When Thomas calls him Polly Percy goes “I have two names!?” 😂 it’s epic awesome job
Thomas insulting Percy while Percy being rather naive about it reminds me of how Lightning McQueen first met Mater while he was in the Radiator Springs Municipal Impound, lol.
I love how Percy was like in this episode! “I’ve got two names?!😃” that honestly made me laugh XD and I sure did like James‘s outburst. It really build his character so much. Fantastic job! 👍🏻
Edward has proven once again that he is a mentor to all locomotives. Thomas, who is becoming more and more successful, will also change his perception on this occasion. And Percy's misstatement made me laugh.
Edward is acting as the elderly father telling his son to let off the gas a bit while Thomas is the young teenager not listening and is actually hearing his Spotify playlist
I really love this story. It shows how clueless and oblivious Percy can be and that even though he's gone through tough times, he still manages to smile and be a little angel. Thomas and Henry feeling threatened by Percy is also quite a good way to build up to other stories. I really like how Percy has a moment of triumph and helps Edward and Thomas. Great story, Trampy!
Wow, James! What a scream! 😲 Percy's just adorable here. 🤭 Thomas can be way in over his head, especially in the early stories. Here, you'd have thought he'd learn what happened after leaving his conductor behind. Wonder how Henry's gonna get back at Percy...
It's really nice to see Edward being a mentor to a new engine. First Thomas, and now Percy. Love the added bit of Edward feeling sorry Percy after listening that he never slept in a shed before. Definitely worth the wait, and keep up with the amazing work with these movies.
Probably my favourite Trampy movie so far. The story is quite hilarious and sweet at the same time, James snapping at the beginning was an iconic moment. And of course, Thomas & Edward's dynamic.
T...... you are Legitimately SLAYING the game right now ,with these in depth versions of these stories. This series is So Awesome, dude.... As a fan , Keep yourself healthy , though. Don't burn yourself out on trying to reach an unhealthy , quote en quote, perfection that isn't there. Take time for you too, and the ideas fresh and new, will come to you to keep revolutionizing How these Original origin stories should be told. You are Amazing at this and this needs to be said more. You are legit one of the Best in the Thomas YT community going right now. You deserve your Praise and you've earned your spot as one of the Best. My late Grandmother, who just recently passed , was a Percy fan. She smiled so much whenever this four wheeled, Little Green Godsend , was on the screen. She Loved his Stories and his character arc. She would honestly have LOVED these stories told this way. Keep up the awesome work, but just remember to take time for you too. Much Respect from Nova Scotia.
My mother unfortunately wasn't a Percy fan, and I could see why, in the show he kinda was a bit silly, but with the addition little bits of his backstory from his old line, I can't help but actually feel bad for him, can't wait to see how my mother feels about him now after I show her this 😊
I love how experience is a major theme throughout this episode. Percy’s lack of working experience along with all the tough points in his life so far, the pressure of the main line causing Thomas and Edward to default to the showy and worrier traits over their experience, and the big engines having the humbling experience of realizing they weren’t appreciating the situation they had.
This has got to be the saddest but greatest episode yet. There was so much work and emotion put into this and it really shows. I also really like the extra bits added to Percy’s backstory, really makes you feel bad for him.
Loved seeing that bit of conflict between Edward and Thomas, it added another layer of depth to their relationship with one another, made them feel like they’re close to each other but not perfect, I like to see that in these types of stories Also I love the fact that James was the one to make the apology, I hope things go better for him as time goes on as you can really tell he regrets the choice he made
I'm really interested seeing how you build Percy from this ditzy, innocent little sweetheart into the cheeky, hot-headed, show-off you depict him as in "Water". Another banger, Trampy!
I love these longer videos. More info, means more storytelling. Percy’s background makes this so much more compelling. He’s so innocent, he didn’t realize he was a pushover at his old job, which I can relate to. Can’t wait to see more of him. Also James at the beginning was a big highlight. You’re very talented, I can imagine your neighbors are a little concerned 😂
This in my opinion is the best version of Percy. Giving him backstory really makes you want to root for him. I see elements of myself in his character here. Great job!
Y'know, I didn't take specific notice of it earlier, but that whole bit with Edward and Thomas pulling the express together - none of that, much less the HEATED conflict, was ever so much as mentioned in any of the source material. And it works and is played out so well. Fantastic work, as always - I love your additions to the lore.
Wow, Percy’s workshop really took advantage of him, didn’t they? Nice to know that he managed to escape from such a toxic environment. Edward was the highlight as usual, I love the little arc of him being uneasy with double headers after the bootlace incident and seeing him and Thomas have a falling out. He really is the team’s father figure.
This movie is so perfect. 0:45 James feel so relatable. Thomas being an ass as usual and having him worry about Percy on the branch is good. Percy being naive is funny, and his cheek towards Henry is good. His backstory is so complexed and perfect. Perfect and funny movie
Love it! I can see why it was worth the wait! Percy was brilliant in this episode. I knew Thomas would be skeptical about Percy but I didn't think he would bully him this badly. Even though it was funny how he took the piss out of the main line engines, I thought it was pretty uncool of the way he treated Percy, hopefully, these two would manage to form a friendship as the series progresses. I also did like the fact that his dynamic with Edward was put to the test and how Thomas managed to see the error of his ways when he got extra cocky. Wish he would have apologised to Percy as well as Edward. I was surprised that Percy wasn't upset with the way Thomas treated him, and he just brushed it off like it was nothing, it really amazed me. I also loved James's outburst from the very beginning, I honestly do not blame him for losing his cool with both Gordon and Henry and that he was the first to apologise to Sir Topham Hatt, shows how much he's developed since the beginning of the series. I can't wait to see what Gordon and James's interaction with Percy will be like, as we know Henry holds some resentment towards him. Can't wait for more, I love your take on TTTE!! Hardcore Thomas fans really need this!
Well, this episode was worth waiting for! Percy is a sweet little guy who's still got a sunshiney personality despite his living conditions on his old line was a sad one where he was looked down upon, treated terribly, Huh, really makes you think that it's on Sodor, where he's got a family and friends, where he gets his most fed up (A Surprised for Percy, Put Upon Percy, Baa!, etc.)
One thing that stood out for me was how much of this episode is entirely original. But it makes sense to add content here since everywhere else Percy arrives and him being introduced to everyone is kind of glossed over
🎉 BEST. EARLY BIRTHDAY PRESENT. EVER. 🎉 Seriously though, I LOVE this episode. It's got a nice original story with a bit of Trouble in the Shed to go with it. Love Henry's reaction of Percy hissing steam at him, absolutely priceless. Fantastic work as always, Trampy. You have put a lot of effort into it and I believe you deserve a pat on the back as well as a rest after working on this video for three weeks.
I must say that thanks to you and your Trampy movie series, brought me more closer to Thomas than ever! You surely are the best example of putting all these concepts and characters in a best way possible! I will sure keep a eye for future installments from you, I know for sure you won’t disappoint, good job!
What did I say in the previous episode something of “every episode gets better and better”…yeah, yeah that’s it. Seriously, this episode is definitely my favorite so far! I like how Percy was handled he’s like a little kid who doesn’t know better but is still trying his best to help as well as his backstory which from what I can tell was not a really good one that’s for sure which makes me think that Percys old railway didn’t want him anymore and just gave him to the workshop (poor Percy). On another note Thomas’s inflated ego with him saying who’s number 1, but Thomas would make sense eventually and did apologize which is neat, I also like how Thomas was just not impressed which kinda does make sense, maybe he was thinking of a bigger engine to help them only for a small tank engine to be there in the first 5 seconds but he would come around. I really do love everyone dynamics here like Thomas and Edward’s relationship being very rocky or Edward and Percys relationship’s like a grandfather and grandson as well as setting up future storylines like Henry maybe wanting to get back at Percy and all the other shenanigans the caterpillar will get up to One last thing, when Edward told Thomas he was going to be in front and Thomas saying something of the lines of “I can’t be able to see anything with you in front” i immediately thought of bulldog when he said that which I think it might be intentional but that’s just me Edit: I almost forgot this moment where James and Henry put Gordon in his place
Damn. It wasn't enough for me to feel what Percy went through before coming to Sodor. But Sir Topham Hatt's speech at the end hit me in the feels as well. This was worth the wait.
5:25-this brings me back to when I was 3 years old and when I brother saw me for the first time he and his friend were like “a baby, do we have to keep it?!” and here I am now almost 25 years old and my brother still loves me!
I love how every movie is connected to each other. In season 1 most stories were connected, but episodes such as James and The Express never really connected to the next episode. I also love the custom story on how Percy wins Thomas over, really adds to the lore. I truly believe that this is the Actual lore of Thomas and Friends/ The Railway Series. Your movies always make my day!
And once again Trampy proves why the Trampy Movies are the best things to come out of this franchise either official or fan made. The characters are great especially Edward and Percy in this episode and I love their dynamic with each other, Thomas being the cheeky little sh*t head he is always is just a treat XD. At this point I don’t have a favorite because this just keeps in getting better and better! A gotta say, your interpretation of Edward is my absolute favorite Edward in the any interpretation, I seriously love how he is a mentor to all of the engines and is very kind and caring for them but he is not afraid to call them out for their bad behavior like with the big engines going on and right now with Thomas. Can I also say I absolutely adore Thomas and Edward’s relationship in this movie like man this is probably the first time in any TTTE interpretation that I actually see Thomas and Edward actually arguing with each other which I don’t think we ever seen both in the RWS and the TV series or even fan made episodes for crying out loud and it just proves why their relationship is my absolute favorite. Percy is also a really great character in this, I love how you made innocent and childish without making him stupid and idiotic, you made him surprisingly sympathetic with the additional changes that add in the world building through the dialogue which I think is fantastic and the relationship between Percy and Edward is so wholesome and sweet and Thomas teasing him and Percy saying he has two names is freaking hilarious! XD
The last thing I want to address is the potential rivalry between Percy and Henry, when Percy scared Henry, it really looked like Henry wanted to get back at him after he made him look like a joke in front of Gordon and James which in context to Henry’s character and backstory in RWS and the show, it makes perfect sense, especially when everyone was celebrating Percy joining the team even Gordon and James expect for Henry who is still very crossed with him. I honestly can’t believe air for their rivalry in the following movies which has me both excited and curious at the same time!
I died at 'brain line'. Thomas is just an absolute a-hole here, and I love it! Did Thomas meet Falcon at some point? It feels like he's been talking to him. I can tell Thomas' skepticism towards Percy will continue into the second series, if you do an adaptation of that.
The fact that you managed to make a story in this time period really gives us the scope of how these actions impact the railway. I like how Thomas acts all puffed up like the big engines before now he's helping run the mainline. Proves to us that he's not at his best and not better than the three big engines either. Percy is adorably naive, at first I thought he was being serious that it wasn't the managers fault. Now we see that he's just denying that he was treated terribly. it's sad to see, but it's nice to see him being so cute and wide eyed. very interesting seeing as we know what he'll grow into be soon. Edward is a sweetheart like always and it's nice to see some friction between him and Thomas. Still shows that both engines have a lot to learn from each other. The big three are still a riot to listen too and having James finally stand his ground was really satisfying to see! Well done Trampy. Stellar as always!!
Yeah, when Percy said "I respect his decision entirely." I was like "Okay.... either your just really honest, or.... you've had a rough life pure child and are saying that to hide the fact your previous home was nothing but abuse." And now I know that's for sure. Wonder how it'll lead to Percy snapping and getting into his angsty fed-up side from Season 5
This was a wonderful story. I love the fight between Thomas and Edward and how Thomas gets confused and angry over Sir Topham Hatt getting a new tank engine, that's a nice little reference from the 26th and 28th RWS Book you've added. And those edited photos by you and Mason Dey look so fantastic, these videos are so great with these edits. The narration is wonderful as always. I love this Trampy Movie, and it might as well be my favorite untill further notice, and it's almost likely, that would happen for every new release of this little series. And i love how every Trampy Movie gets longer and longer. Imagine if the 22nd episode was 1 hour long, now THAT... would be impressive. Fantastic job Trampy.
Well this was worth the wait. I loved ever aspect of this, James going off at Henry and Gordon, Thomas being a douche the whole time, Percy's backstory, Edward's whole mentor vibe. You really worked hard on this and it shows. Keep up the effort Trampy!
First of all, congratulations on the FIRST Trampy ORIGINAL! No Awdry, no Britt or David, just Trampy, and it turned out excellent. I like the running idea of Edward as a mentor figure, and Thomas is very well written. He is the perfect blend of awful and snarky that makes him so entertaining. I like how this takes the idea of Percy being naive and portrays it in a more realistic way. Plus, he is a very sweet character. I like how the story fleshes out the time during the strike. Gordon is perfect, in how Henry and James have to strongarm him into apologizing. And while I don't know how Henry was moving, the scene was still hilarious. Also, 5:35
Here's all of the characters ranked from good to evil 1: Percy 2: Edward 3: Annie and Clarabelle 4: Terence 5: James 6: the fat controller 7: Thomas 8: Gordon 9: Henry 10: the troublesome trucks
I love the parallels between this episode and the last time there was a major announcement at the sheds following a major character arc, where one of the three big engines is unhappy about something. Last time it was Gordon being upset about having to shunt, and this time it's Henry being suspicious of Percy. Great work, Trampy! Very keen to see where the next episode goes :))
Haven't watched yet but I just want you to know I saw the notification and I fuckin SCRAMBLED LMAO Edit: Wow, there's... SO much that I love here to unpack. I'm not too good with long comments and just getting my thoughts out in general, but I'll try my best regardless! First, I really love Thomas in this episode and how he's become conceited due to him and Edward working on the main line, his outburst on Gordon's Hill being the culmination of that. The opening with James finally having enough of Gordon and Henry was also pretty cathartic for me considering how he was roped into the strike by the other big engines. The slow realization later that they struck out for nothing was absolute comedic GOLD as well. And then there's the star of the show, the green caterpillar himself! Honestly, you've REALLY endeared me to this interpretation of Percy. He reminds me alot of Perrito from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, where he's had a HORRIBLE life yet is oblivious to how bad it was and manages to remain innocent and optimistic anyways, it's honestly really adorable and I can't help but love it so much. I keep saying every new one is my favorite, but I think this might genuinely be my absolute favorite out of all of these so far, there's so much here that I love immensely, the wait for this one was ABSOLUTELY worth it.
James: Ohohohhahaha Henry got scared by some steam! You did say you’d be right back Henry. Edit: Gordon: Ehahahahaha! Henry thinking: (I fucking hate you guys)
Your version of Percy gave me strong Purito vibes from the new puss in boots film and I'm all here for it. Can't wait for the next episode. Keep up the amazing work!!!
It was absolutely worth the wait! Everything was great, really liked your cheery take on Percy (sad backstory tho), Thomas still has a lot to learn and grow, but his dynamics with everyone were pretty funny and interesting, Edward is always a great engine to work with and learn from and I’m glad to see James having the initiative to ask Topham for him, Henry and Gordon leave the sheds, and Gordon nearly blew it away too, lol; and Topham saying how much the engines have on this railway and expressing his affection to them was truly heartwarming. Overall loved everything, will love to see how Percy will get his comeuppance from Henry, and I’m pretty sure the latter will be focus of the future episodes that are coming soon, but take your time as much as you need to do your work, huge props for everything you’ve done so far!
“I’ve got two names?”
I already am loving Percy.
Btw he has another name and that would Peter or 1350
James snapping was kind of expected, he was the only one out of the three that didn’t really want to go through with the strike. I’m honestly surprised we didn’t start the episode with James getting pissy with Gordon and gradually having his anger build up
Tbh I prefer James just absolutely bursting his boiler on Gordon and Henry, it's just absolutely hilarious hearing him scream so loudly
@@Raid_NRogersand what about the look on Gordon's face when James snapped? Absolutely priceless
@@Raid_NRogers, Just like Thomas, I, too, honestly didn’t expect him to level those two moronic and pathetic imbeciles.
@@scotthamp384 damn right!
Henry's was pretty good too!
I agree with you.
Imagine being a passenger on Thomas and Edward's train and hearing them argue like that while you're just trying to get to work lmao
Really fr
I have a feeling this is the first (and maybe only ever time) Thomas disrespected Edward.
I just realized. If James didn’t join Gordon in the strike, he could have been the premier express engine
I wish he realized that before
That’s no- *Uses big brain* Holy fudge your right!😨
I imagine James is aware of this too! He probably cried himself to sleep that night after he realized he made the worst decision of his life.
You actually have a good point not to mention he provided himself to sir topham hat as well so he basically just threw away all his hopes and dreams.
Too bad his ego got in the way of it. Also, even if he didn't join them, there's no guarantee that he'd actually be _the_ express engine. He'd probably have to double-head with Edward, or be stuck with goods trains.
Showing how the Big Engines’ bad attitudes rubbed off on Thomas was a really smart touch.
He’s a tank engine version of Gordon
Percy is actually the sweetest little thing I have ever seen. He is so innocent, like my heart just can't!!
He’s just like Perrito from Puss In Boots the Last Wish! Was treated poorly but saw the bright side in everything
"A green caterpillar with red stripes," Continued Thomas firmly. "You crawl like one too."
I can’t wait for Trampy’s interpretation of that story
C. Reginald Dalby: 😡
“I don’t!”
As Topham Hatt puts it, "Don't strain yourself!"
percy melts my heart sometimes
Very much disagree with the point about Thomas and Edward both being at fault. Sure MAYBE Edward COULDVE kept his cool a bit more but Thomas by and large was being a douche most of this episode and even taking it out on Edward even before the hill incident. Hell, if anything Edward was probably TOO lenient.
DIRTY PERCY
I'm proud for James snapping at the Big Engines
@@jordandorsett3106same here it was funny when I first saw the teaser on Twitter
Seeing Thomas be cheeky like in the original is damn good. After many episodes of him being so cranky and down.
The Trampy movies has officially earned it's title as the best Thomas fan series.
Considering Thomas is pretty much a jerk sometimes, I'm not surprised he acted like that towards Percy when he first saw him 😂🤣
Well, that’s because he’s tired of Gordon treating him like shit. Hope that was clear. And what do you mean that Thomas is a jerk?! He’s just standing up for himself against the neighborhood bully, Gordon! 😠
Thomas is a jerk lol a fair amount
Considering we all know them today as best friends, it would be interesting if they started out on poor terms. Not to mention Thomas can be as much of a jerk as Henry, Gordon and James.
@@tonybusch8771 That’s the thing. Thomas isn't standing up for himself all the time. He's capable of being as much of an asshole as Gordon. He more or less brought his misfortune on himself in Tricked. He deliberately stalled the express and mouthed off to the Fat Controller.

Definitely my favourite episode yet. Genuinely really profound work.
To James finally taking a stand and his coming out moment.
To Percy's ditty and innocent charming personality and connecting with Annie and Clarabelle on a good level
And to Thomas learning that the number one isn't just purely a symbol for being best and biting him in the back later on.
Indeed.
“We’ll never have you sleep on any sidings. Ever.” ELITE foreshadowing well done
What's a ELITE?
@@ezeahrizcalupas6280 It means "best".
Thomas, Percy and the Dragon: hold my beer
Man I love how James just lost it with Gordon And Henry. And Percy is just adorable. Definitely a new favorite Trampy Movie. This was great.
The scream James made was one of the most realistic and genuine screams I've ever heard! 😂😂😂
I bet ya "Thomas and Bertie" and "Thomas and the Guard" will be one big episode
Technically that trope existed since the railway series books, lol. And it's almost always tank engines. He's been hostile to percy, duck, arthur, Stanley, Rosie, Ryan, etc. The only new tank engines he wasn't mean to off rip were Oliver (who was the steam engine equivalent of a war vet) and Belle (who thomas wasn't threatened by because he knew she'd be too busy fighting fires to pull coaches).
I don't count Charlie and Billy because Charlie and Billy do not exist.
@@PilloTheStarCharlie and Billy? Who’s that? Are they some random one-off book characters?
@@monolophosaurus (cosmo yelling meme) CHARLIE AND BILLY DO NOT EXIST
I'm thinking it will somehow play into Trampy's adaptation of A Scarf for Percy
I feel like Henry is the one to teach Percy about backing signals.
I’m honestly pretty excited for the potential rivalry between Henry and Percy because I don’t think they got to fully interact with each other in both the RWS and the show so that’s a nice new change Trampy added that I can’t wait to see more of!
I do know Trampy did a small clip of 'Percy Takes The Plunge' when Henry sent Bill & Ben away when Percy was boasting.
20:54 I just love this small tugs reference/similar line when Percy is welcomed to the railway. He's also the second one to get an episode named after him.
Edit: edited cause i forgot that Edward was the first to get an episode named after him. Percy is the second
Can I just say I like Percy’s character here much better than how he was in that early short.
He’s too pure and innocent. Bless him.
Same.
Then Thomas arrives and gets in on the fun.🤣
4:12 Also hearing Percy say hello to Edward was so cute. I love him for how much younger he is compared to the others. He’s like the Tails to Thomas’ Sonic and while he may not be as smart, he looks up to Thomas. Percy’s so damn cute. 🥰
For real though lol
If that’s the case, Thomas from S1-S2 is Fleetway Sonic but from S3-maybe 7, Thomas develops to Game Sonic

Thomas insulting Percy while Percy being rather naive about it reminds me of how Lightning McQueen first met Mater while he was in the Radiator Springs Municipal Impound, lol.
I like how Thomas and Edward have a similar interaction like falcon and duke in bulldog. It makes sense if Thomas will tell the story in a later movie

Thomas can be way in over his head, especially in the early stories. Here, you'd have thought he'd learn what happened after leaving his conductor behind.
Wonder how Henry's gonna get back at Percy...
This really does make Percy represent childhood innocence.
“I’ve got two names?!” Oh you sweet summer child.
It's really nice to see Edward being a mentor to a new engine. First Thomas, and now Percy. Love the added bit of Edward feeling sorry Percy after listening that he never slept in a shed before. Definitely worth the wait, and keep up with the amazing work with these movies.

Percy is so pure! Love to see the little dude in this! :)
Annie and Clarabel are such sweethearts to him. :)
This has got to be the saddest but greatest episode yet. There was so much work and emotion put into this and it really shows. I also really like the extra bits added to Percy’s backstory, really makes you feel bad for him.
I knew Gordon would be the most reluctant to stop complaining about shunting his own coaches. And Henry & James' screams were PRICELESS.
Loved seeing that bit of conflict between Edward and Thomas, it added another layer of depth to their relationship with one another, made them feel like they’re close to each other but not perfect, I like to see that in these types of stories
Also I love the fact that James was the one to make the apology, I hope things go better for him as time goes on as you can really tell he regrets the choice he made
I'm really interested seeing how you build Percy from this ditzy, innocent little sweetheart into the cheeky, hot-headed, show-off you depict him as in "Water".
Great job!
Percy - *wheeshes at Henry*
Henry - "...and I took that personally."
James snapping genuinely caught me off guard and I love it, one of the best, if not THE best of the series so far.
It might've been a toxic work environment. But somehow, Percy just doesn't give two shits. He's just too happy to care if he's being mistreated.
That's something to applaud, I guess.
This movie is so perfect. 0:45 James feel so relatable. Thomas being an ass as usual and having him worry about Percy on the branch is good. Percy being naive is funny, and his cheek towards Henry is good. His backstory is so complexed and perfect. Perfect and funny movie
Percy's backstory (as vague as it is right now) goddamn, This poor engine had it awful on his previous branchline 😭😭😭
4:21 *people getting other blue engines confused with Thomas be like*
Percy scaring Henry was pure gold!
And such a hilarious payback, too.
Thomas’s immaturity reminds me of early season Rigby in Regular Show
James' paint really did match his mood at 0:45. That had to have been the loudest he's ever yelled. O_o
0:45 It was at that moment, that James realized, he fucked up bad by joining the strike.
cannot wait to see when Number 7 Arrives. I'm sure the quick quips that Trampy usually has will be on full display.
Why is nobody talking about James’s “Oh, SHUT UUUUUUUUPP” at 0:45 ?
Bro legit sounds like he’s fed up with everything
Well, this episode was worth waiting for! Percy is a sweet little guy who's still got a sunshiney personality despite his living conditions on his old line was a sad one where he was looked down upon, treated terribly, Huh, really makes you think that it's on Sodor, where he's got a family and friends, where he gets his most fed up (A Surprised for Percy, Put Upon Percy, Baa!, etc.)
One thing that stood out for me was how much of this episode is entirely original. But it makes sense to add content here since everywhere else Percy arrives and him being introduced to everyone is kind of glossed over
I love Percy’s innocent demeanor when he’s insulted 😂

I really do love everyone dynamics here like Thomas and Edward’s relationship being very rocky or Edward and Percys relationship’s like a grandfather and grandson as well as setting up future storylines like Henry maybe wanting to get back at Percy and all the other shenanigans the caterpillar will get up to
One last thing, when Edward told Thomas he was going to be in front and Thomas saying something of the lines of “I can’t be able to see anything with you in front” i immediately thought of bulldog when he said that which I think it might be intentional but that’s just me
Edit: I almost forgot this moment where James and Henry put Gordon in his place
4:43
Sir handel?
@@OldEngine_25 He would have been known as Falcon at this point in time.
@@22Tesla We can only eagerly wait.
I love how Henry seeks revenge on Percy😂
Also, 5:35
engines ranked form good to bad.
1: edward.
2: percy.
3: thomas.
4: james.
5: henry.
6: gordon.
Thomas and James should definitely swap places
@@LenOnTheDoor0000I can agree with that. I feel like with time Thomas definitely got an inflated ego, probably as soon as he got his own branchline.
Here's all of the characters ranked from good to evil
1: Percy
2: Edward
3: Annie and Clarabelle
4: Terence
5: James
6: the fat controller
7: Thomas
8: Gordon
9: Henry
10: the troublesome trucks
I love the parallels between this episode and the last time there was a major announcement at the sheds following a major character arc, where one of the three big engines is unhappy about something. Last time it was Gordon being upset about having to shunt, and this time it's Henry being suspicious of Percy. Great work, Trampy! Very keen to see where the next episode goes :))
Haven't watched yet but I just want you to know I saw the notification and I fuckin SCRAMBLED LMAO
Edit: Wow, there's...
Percy is innocent and I love it
9:20 "Hey Pip-Squeak, what do you think your doing here. This shed is for sir top-WEEEEEESH, AAAAAAAAA. (Edward laughing)
Gordon: WHAT WAS THAT?!
Henry: HE SCARED ME WHO THE HELL BLOWS STEAM ON ANOTHER ENGINE LIKE THAT?!
James: Ohohohhahaha Henry got scared by some steam! You did say you’d be right back Henry.
Edit: Gordon: Ehahahahaha!
Henry thinking: (I fucking hate you guys)
@@warsthemarvel8608 Edward: My! I haven’t seen anyone scare Henry like that before! I can’t even blow steam like that! How did you do that?
Percy: Oh, that? That was nothing! You should hear them in the workshops. You’ve got to Weesh as loud as you can to make yourself heard.
Your version of Percy gave me strong Purito vibes from the new puss in boots film and I'm all here for it. Can't wait for the next episode. Keep up the amazing work!!!
We had the same thought!
“Enough about Perry.”
“Percy.”
“…bless you.”
I lost it 🤣🤣🤣
...gesundheit.
I think he said 'Barry'
3:00 Once you notice Edward’s whistle is crooked in this image, you will never unsee it
I love how you are able to tell where every conversation takes place even though most facial expressions are in different places.
We are getting close to the Henry arc, Can't wait for your take on Coal and The flying kipper.
Trampy's version of James is so loud and snappy, Mel Blanc would be proud.
That Gordon face when James melted down was hilarious
so was henry's
i love that thomas is kind of like a kid meeting his new adopted brother and Edward being a dad trying to get the kid to accept his new sibling.
I love how Thomas is such a piece of work to percy
My God this is probably the best Trampy movie ever! This was funny and emotional! Great job!
