Instead of 2 amp power adapter, I used a Redmi 10,000Ah battery bank(Specs says it can deliver 2.4 Amps). It worked like charm!!!.
How much backup the powerbank provides?
@@lilu2580 I have never tested that, however, 10,000mAh should last more than 24 hours or 3 working days. Now I am using Mikrotik SXT-LTE kit with a WiFi router as JioFi is not suitable for working from home kind of use.

WARNING: Do not put battery inside while using more than 1A charger as it might damage battery or even it may explode. If you want to use with battery, always use original 1A changer only.

thank you for this hack... the question is have is like... if keeping it on charge the whole time without the battery, will it effect the dongle?? also is thus effective for a longer period of time?? is it better to use it this way or should I go get a new battery??
The hack works well, I used it for more than a week non stop as my CCTV’s are attached to jiofi. But due to frequent power outages had to get a battery for it again as I do not have power backup at office.
So its a workaround, which is ok for light users. For a full time service It’s always better to have it with a battery.

None faced during 7 days trial period. Had to buy a battery after that as I live in Rajasthan where regular electricity is rare these days.

Won’t work. Will turn on/off/on. It needs min 2A charger to work without battery.

It should not affect the internals if you use a branded power brick. Only thing that can damage the internals is excessive fluctuations in voltage which do not happen with branded power bricks.

बॅटरी निकाल के 5 volat 3amp से चालू तो हो रहा है लेकिन लाईट चली जाने के बाद दुबारा जब लाईट आती है तो राउटर शुरू नही होता है उसका वापिस से पावर बटन दबाना पडता है

You’ll probably have to click once as it goes to sleep mode.
As you saw in the video, I personally did not require it but most of those who tried said that they had to turn it on manually. Looks like there are 2 variants.
You can try it for yourself once, plug out the battery and use it with a 2A charger. Turn power off and then on again.

My dongle keep on charging and never shows as fully charged but after using it for some time it goes off and I need to restart my dingle again. Not sure what is the issue

I guess 2A is safe, but for long term I would suggest to get the battery instead. I only tried it for 15-20 days till I found a replacement battery for it.

May be the power brick output is not what is claimed. Try with another charger if possible.

I’ve not kept it on for that long.. It served me good for a good 10-12 days before I got a replacement battery. You may try it. Really not aware of long term effects of using it directly.

Its fine we are doing the same thing for our CCTV too and seems to be fine since God knows how long, I had mistakenly connected a higher volt charger and the battery died like 6 months back , I noticed today lol .
You need not worry till it's getting 5v input from adapter .... It will not damage the jiofi device... Just go for it... But remove the battery from it while making it permanent on power adapter...

The power of adapter is dipping below 1.2A. Use a different adapter.

hi. My hotspot battery is swollen and i am not able to connect to internet. I do use more than 12 hours per day every day jio for my work, but working without battery. Please tell me is it safe to use jio device without its battery daily. Pls reply me.
I used the setup for 15 days and it worked without any issues. I used a samsung 2A charger for your reference.
But since all chargers are different and if the charger has voltage fluctuations it may cause issue with the modem PCB in long run.
If you have heavy duty use, I’d recommend you get a new battery. Also battery gets swollen mainly because we keep it on charge all the time. So better to charge the device at night and use on battery during day. This will improve battery longevity.

No, not needed. The charger has to be 1.2A+. Preferably 2A.

Mere pas fi2 and fi3 dono hai.
Fi2 - 2 amps charger me chalata hai..(with out battery)
Fi3 - 3 amps charger me chalta hai.
isase kam AMPs power me nahi chalta hai off ho jata hai.
Note - signal kam hai to AMPs jada lagega ..jada amps ka charger lagana padega..muje koi problem nahi huva hai achha chalata hai.( mera bahut experiment ke baad ye natija hai..)

Me 24/7 on rakta hu abi 7/8 din huva hai ...(3amps 5 v ..me)aage..kuch problem hota hai to bolta hu..
It will work but internet speed will be very less i already try this my outlook connecting and disconnecting sometimes not responding that time speed is below 1 Mbps...while I insert battery and then connect charger of 2 A speed shown to 15 mbps

Both are very similar so that one should work too. You can try with any 5V2A adapter.

I am using 5V…4A charger to power it up without battery. But its not working. Its getting stuck in on and off loop. Any solution???
4A is too much. It may damage the circuit board. I suggest to get a new battery if you do not have a spare 2A adapter.

I am using USB cable which came along boats bluetooth speakers. Does this cable might be causing this problem?
No, cable won’t be an issue. Actually the voltage shown in the video is the sweet spot. Anything too much above and below will not work.
If any of your friends have a 2A adapter you can try it once. It should work. Cable does not make any difference unless it has voltage regulator built in. (Those are the old cables with bulky thick round loops in between, very rare to see these days)

Then your adapter is not throwing proper current. You need 5V-2A adapter for this. It should at least be 5V-1.2A+. Don’t use higher than 2A.

Yeah, there are probably 2 types of modems in the market. Some get on by their on and on others we have to click once. So it should he pretty normal and in fact better.
