Now overall I tend to listen to Mariah more because I overall prefer her song writing, production and technician-approach to vocals. But to me Whitney demonstrates something that Mariah never had even in her prime (for me anyway), a sense that she could enter another soulful state wherein she embodies the lyrics. Whitney gave pure visceral energy here. Never replicated
I agree! Mariah's musicality is out of this world but Whitney had the power to transport you way up there with her... So full of soul... It's a shame most of her records weren't able to capture a fraction of the magic of her live performances.
@@michaelpatrick7888both were technically gifted and excelled in just about everything they did vocally, inside and outside their primes. They’ve even shocked masters of other genres, like opera for Whitney for example, while just playing around. Whitney was in vocal lessons since childhood because of church, and Mariah picked up what she could from listening in on her mother’s vocal lessons because she was a vocal coach but wouldn’t teach Mariah. Both have consistently shown capabilities that only masters, and not all of them, could do. They both studied and performed multiple genres and Whitney’s death had nothing to do with “wasting” her gift, which she didn’t do. With all due respect, you have no idea what you’re talking about.
@@michaelpatrick7888and if you doubt the validity of Whitney’s musical upbringing, old church music is in line with opera in terms technical difficulty. You can’t not know music, or not be well trained and practiced, and still sound good singing it. I really felt what Withney was singing. Best Singer ever!
I love how she also was the host of this show as well!!! That’s what makes the performance perfect!
Obviously she poured into this performance towards Bobby in this amazing👏🏽song. Wow i love it and play it over & over at times. It brings tears to my eyes 😢💔 so sad she's gone too soon! RIP Whitney🙏🏽🥀
One of my favorite LIVE performances…. LIVE!!!!
Ohmydearlord. There are parts of this that surpass the boundaries of perfection. And I didn’t know that was possible. Brava, Queen!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
God is near...that is what i feel when i hear her❤
@@michaelpatrick7888both were technically gifted and excelled in just about everything they did vocally, inside and outside their primes.
It demanded proficiency and Whitney was quoted saying that if she didn’t sound as good as the adults, she was back rehearsing and in lessons
When I tell you have chills all over my body. This Amazing woman has the most Angelic Voice ever. This is my FAVORITE song and this version is better than the recording. RIP WHITNEY..THE VOICE!!
2024 of June and I'm still here. I saw her in 2000. Absolutely EMACULATE!!! 😂❤❤❤😢
Why does it hurt us so bad that you're gone and never coming back💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Going out on a limb here… this is her best live performance…after of course the phenomenal Anthem.. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
