- An automotive journalist and a Cornell Researcher breakdown why the layoffs are likely happening now in particular, and what they will mean for workers.
that's what the record contract brings! enjoy!
Record profits. Record layoffs. Lol
@@gregorylyon1004 the writing was on the wall the whole time.
I can't speculate as to the reason, but I see dealer lots overflowing with jeeps in my area. The same is true with big trucks. The lots are full of unsold 22's and 23's. Anyone else seeing this your area?
With record credit card debt and high interest, it's inevitable.I understand EV'S are also ready available. 😂😂
one reason why so many cars are still on the lot is the low quality of these vehicles. Improve the quality will equal more units being sold.
I'm in Michigan and the dealer lots are full of inventory here. We got 2023 models
The prices are too high and the average interest rate for 72 months is 7% for well qualified buyers. That’s why.
The domestic automakers just don't get it. The higher the prices, the slower the sales. Lower the prices of Jeeps and full-sized trucks.
I was in the uaw. layoff friday!
Potential? What did you think the auto companies were gonna do?
You didn't see this in the making record contract got you a long way I see
What did you think was going to happen
UAW job security!!!
But UAW will still vote for Democrat administration... 😮
Stellantis engineers have really let those workers down designing junk
Nothing but lies.
Hey. All those workers can get a discount on a new vehicle right now. All they have to do is pick from dealer inventory and pray that they have a Job next year. Lol
Wow, as slow as our plant is here in Tuscaloosa. Making over $33 to $37hr, we have it going on. No layoffs. No pay cuts. Plenty of overtime.
My personal take on this. Save money. Fire all the UAW workers and keep the temps working. It's cheaper and no pensions to pay. Everybody wins except the people who voted for sky high wages and fringe.
They are going start bringing in those migrants for cheap labor to boost the profits for the stock holders
It's not just to boost stock holder profits. It's because they are still paying pension funds for past workers. Their pension checks out weigh the payroll. Duh
These jobs are going to countries that don’t have to employ union workers. Sad.
Unskilled assembly workers meeting reality. AI will be put on a fast track, also
reap it
Shawn will be fine, the rest can learn to code. Just kidding, they could never learn to code.
