as a producer, yes this is very much true. if you want 100% accurate key readings you should check out mixedinkey plugin. automatically detects key and bpm of any audio file you drag and drop.
finding bpm is easy, just count a 4 bar loop where th song repeats, and line it up with the grid. Also with a beat always trim it so it starts at the start bcs yt downloads will give some dead space before the beat
Auto key works most of the time if you refresh it but ya this is a good way to find the key fast. Sometimes I’ll spit a few lines then highlight and isolate them replaying it while I’m going through each key .. trial and error
