You don't have to untie the string. Just loop it through the hole and loop the string through the other side and pull tight and it should be secure. ☺️
@@CassiyJohnsonthat’s a great point, not everyone has run into this little tricks yet. Might be a good thing to proactively mention in the product description.
I Do my own production (sublimation) and can tell you that the purple / blue spot on the ceramic ornament is what happens when you don't clean your blank properly. The ink can fuse to a piece of lint, which then can leave a spot on your blank. Just a little info 😊. Great video, thanks!
I sold a lot of ornaments last Q4. The ceramic one was my best seller next was the metal ornament. Im so glad you did this because i moticed last week when i was makin some ornaments that the ceramic one now has a glossy finish. I need to update all the photos for those from last year and update the info carss too.
Have you had anyone complain about the blurry factor or low quality printing on the circular ceramic ones? I ordered a few samples of this one and they were quite bad.

Thank you so much for posting this review. I use Printify often, but don't sell enough yet to justify the premium monthly fee. So this helped out a lot! And Fav Christmas movie is definitely A Christmas Story! :)
HI Cassiy, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on all the ornaments. Super helpful. My favorite Christmas movie is National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. :)
Thank you! I also ordered the sled as a sample. It came in a bag vs a box. As such, it was flattened and the metal rails were mangled. Maybe a one off, but concerned what shape they will be delivered once the holidays pick up.
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is my annual tree decorating movie and one of my favourites!! Thanks for your videos, I love Christmas and these ornaments are great!

Thank you for your amazing videos!! I finally opened my Etsy shop this weekend thanks to your informative videos ❤️ Would you mind sharing which fonts you used on your ornaments in this video? And A Christmas Story is my favorite Christmas movie ❤
Very helpful video. Did you see that Etsy told Pam from Erank that POD sellers MUST only use mockups from their print provider? Purchased mockups are not allowed, even if they feature the actual product being sold. Crazy I know, but that's what they have told Pam - who has been pursuing them for clarity on mockup policy for quite some time.
Just in time. I was researching the ceramic ornaments. I made some but I wasn't sure if the print would be accurate like the pictures. Because I ordered a sample of an apron and part of my print was cut off. I had to redo it.
Oooof Bummer about the apron but I hope the second sample comes better! I don't think the ceramic ones are terrible but the quality of some of the others was definitely better
Great video!! If you have any pull with Printify to address the ceramic ornament, please share this feedback! There were also several shipping, lost ornaments, and poor quality issues. It would be amazing to get this optimized before the holiday season!! Thank you!
Hi Cassiy, I'm curious about the back of the acrylic ornament. Is it like the front, only mirrored? Or is there white behind the print to help the colours look correct?
Cassiy, Question regarding the ornaments... I uploaded a design to Printify for a ceramic ornament. When I downloaded the preview, the colors (in my case), were much deeper. I realize there's a lot that can affect this. But, is it typical that maybe the preview is different than the actual printed product that is being received? Are you aware of how we need to adjust colors for them to print as we desire? I'm trying to match these colors to other products that I've used the same design on and those products seem to be more true to color. Would appreciate any feedback from others who may be experiencing the same situation as well. Thanks All!
Can you make a video on designing ornaments (all the things, designing, listing, etc.)? I feel like nobody can really do it quite like you. Christmas with the Kranks!
This is a complete Godsend!! Thank you so much!! Does the metal one feel like it would bend easily? And what was the packaging like for the sled, metal and acrylic?
Great timing showing all these! The metal ornament has an option to print on the other side - do you think that it’s worth it? Only adds $1.50. Would have loved to see your pricing/listing/mockup strategies for each kind too - maybe another video 😊
Hmm I don't think the printing on the other side would be worth it unless it was like a custom name or something that would make it even more of a fun gift that someone would want to buy someone! I will definitely do more ornament videos this year on how to actually list them! Here is one I made last year that goes over some of that stuff if you want to check it out! ruclips.net/video/eiAGqc_vCfc/видео.htmlsi=gFOagFgQ03fPMgZJ
I got the ceramic circle one and hated the quality..it looked blurry and washed out. My art was at high resolution and it was vector art. Will try the other ones. They look better.
Elf is my absolute favorite Christmas movie that gets me into the holiday spirit! I really enjoyed this tutorial however I noticed you used a thin script font which I’ve been told by printify that the lines are too thin and that they recommend 5 pixels in thickness to ensure crisp clean design. I design in canva and i’m not even sure how to know the pixels of the lines in my design. This issue has really hindered me moving forward in doing POD. Please let me know how to get around this because I really love my thin and script fonts even distressed fonts. Thank you in advance!
Thank you for helpful video! Could you advice please the pod company that offers ornaments with gift box included? The most successful etsy sellers all offer gift boxes along with ornament...
Awesome video and just what I needed to kickstart holiday designing in July! Any chance you are planning to add mock ups of some / any / all of these ornaments to your mock up store?
You mentioned at the beginning you'd talk about packaging, which I didn't see/hear. What do they ship in? If it's for a gift, I'm guessing the recipient needs to go out and get an extra gift box?
Sorry about that, I ended up cutting out the packaging parts of the video because it was really long with those and I didn't think people would want to see but I should have left it because you aren't the only one who's asked! I might record some RUclips shorts videos and post about the packaging but they all just basically come in padded mailer envelopes and no receipt inside or they may have a packing slip but it does not say any amounts that were paid on them. No extra gift box or anything on any of these options!
I want to change the mockups with my own mockups for my Etsy listing. when I do that, it changes from "published" to "unpublished changes". if I get an order on my Etsy shop, will it still process my product that shows up as "unpublished changes"?
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. * Question if someone orders more than one with different family names as gifts for example. How would we accomplish that in Printify?
So with personalized listings you need to make the listing on Etsy instead of publishing a listing from printify like normal. So here is what it would look like 1. Make listing on Etsy with no SKU numbers 2. When you get an order for these, they will show up in your "other orders" section on Printify because it's not connected yet. This will keep orders from accidentally going through with the fake name on it like "Johnson Family" 3. If they order 2 ornaments and want different names on each, then sometimes this can be confusing because it will only let you upload one design file. So what you'll do is upload one of the design files and then import the order. This will NOT send it to production yet. So once you import it, then go to the orders page and edit that order. Change the first design to quantity one, and then add the second ornament onto the order so that now you have one version with the first name and the second ornament with the second name. Hope that was clear enough!!
For the metal ornament was it a transparent background? By this I mean "is the white the natural white of the ornament itself? I just designed one and made the white bits transparent BUT the mock-ups show gray where it should be white. It says on Printify that the ornament is white.
Thanks for the video Cassiy! Too bad your least favorite ornament is the ceramic one because that's the one that I sell in my etsy shop. Now I'm a little worried about how they will turn out!
Hi Cassiy, I have a question to ask. When selling on Etsy, do you recommend focusing on selling a specific product such as mugs, or is it better to offer a variety of products like mugs, t-shirts, phone cases, and more? Thanks
I've sold lots of products within one store over the years, the best products I have found are Sweatshirts, T-shirts, Mugs, Ornaments and Tumblers. I would suggest if you are just getting started to focus on one product to get your shop going and to learn what it really takes to design for products on Etsy, then when you get some consistent sales coming in, then I would branch out to other products.
Totally agree, hope you get some more fun options in the future! What I've found is that most people end up selling just to the US even if they don't live here because it's a little simpler.
@@CassiyJohnson LOL, After watching this, I went and made 95 metal ones I'm uploading now. I just have a fear of having a lot of returns on my new ornament shop due to printing errors beyond my control. my mockups are really crisp and it seems the actual ornaments are kind of fuzzy. Good to know you haven't had too many complaints! I'm also nervous about when to make the cut off date for orders before Christmas. 😬 (this isn't my first store, but it is my first POD store that will have a ton of products)
I'm confused. I don't do POD but I thought the product went straight to the customer. How would you be able to intercept to retie the hanging ribbon. Love your videos!
Hello! So from the Printify site all you would do is enter your address for the order instead of a customers address. I've followed Cassiy for a while and in a previous video she explained that she manually fills her orders (unless something has changed that I missed) though you do have the option to have printify fill them automatically. Manual fulfillment is typically done for custom orders and automatic is typically non-custom orders. Hope that helped.
I think that one is called beautiful wildflowers from creative Fabrica.com and here is a video on how to use "glyphs" that's what it's called when you have those long ends. You have to actually copy and paste them into Canva because they don't write out like that with just the font. Here is the video on how to do them! ruclips.net/video/om2I4VYzjJ0/видео.htmlsi=caIkboV4kXGb0OX6
I have seen them make good quality shirts before, I’ve never checked out their ornaments. They did have some longer production times compared to other printers but again that was on clothing so you’d have to do a test for yourself and check out the quality and shipping time to be sure!
Nice video, Thanks Cassiy. BTW do you think is is ok to add ornaments to my T-shirt store? I am new on this and I dont know how to handle 2 stores at the time
I add both of those items to the same store personally and definitely would recommend having a general store as a new seller instead of trying to grow more than one at once!
I have a question. I've watched your RUclipss and your free POD class. I set it all up and it looks like I'd have to charge around $45 a shirt to make even $5 profit. It doesn't seem worth it. When I look at Etsy people are selling shirts for $25 but I know from looking at printing (yes with premium) that it costs more than that just for production and shipping. So how can anyone make a profit? I'm not being a jerk, I legit want to know because I've made a few products but feel like I'd have to charge ridiculous amounts to make any $$
I have the same exact question. Those who are doing all their own work, are charging way less. I'd go in the hole if I lowered my cost to what they have.
Dear Cassiy, you mention to put more ornaments into one listing, but if they have different print providers, how can they be made on the Printify side? You can only add one shipping option, and that is basically the manufacturer of the item. Don't all items in one listing have to come from the same print provider? Would be super cool to offer more types of product in one listing. Oh and the movie is Love Actually 🥰
Hello cassiy, i was doing my setup on Etsy, they required one time fee to open the store. Or is their way i ain't did something wrong? I'm asking you because i was watching all your Etsy + printify videos you made for us
I actually recorded that part but it doubled the length of the video so I ended up cutting it out! They all cal in padded mailers though so it was pretty simply packaging!
It's painful to watch your videos, because I keep feeling like I'm being kicked in the backside - LOL! I know, I know; I need to get moving on all of the ideas that are spinning around in my head. Oh, and I love the "old school" fave, It's a Wonderful Life!
FYI, I ordered a ceramic ornament sample also, and it had random speckles! Larger than this and on both sides (they print two-sided). I hoped it was just mine :( They still look nice, but I wouldn't sell them and expect good reviews.
It came in a nice padded mailer and in a plastic bag within the mailer. I might film some little videos of what the packaging was like since quite a few people have been asking!
Please give me your opinion - I have a shop where I sell embroidered items and sublimation (not listed yet) - I'm very serious about trying POD - should this be a separate shop aside from embroidered/sublimated items? I would truly appreciate anyone's feedback! Thank you for your videos!😍
I would just go ahead and sell it all in one store! You can separate by categories if you want but running one shop is way easier to manage, and you get to have a head start with those items since your store is already established I assume with sales/reviews. I strongly believe in having general stores on Etsy where you can sell multiple types of items/niches!
@@CassiyJohnson That's the problem - I put 50 listed in at the end of 2022 then was called back to work (pt) - have not added anything since - 3 sales. I'd start it over, but I don't want to lose the name. This is why I thought this should be separate/new. Thank you for responding.
Hey great video. 1 problem tho and it's not with the video. Your link for INCOME/EXPENSE REPORT WITH PROFIT CALCULATOR is flagging on my PC as blocked due to phishing, it might not be but I do not F around with the alerts. Is there a way I can search this in etsy to find it?
Oh interesting, that's so weird that you are getting that error! You can find it on my website Cassiyjohnson.com and just purchase it there instead of using the link
Put the tied string through the hole and then pull the knot through the loop.
Thanks for the suggestion, now you know you'll get some silly customers like me who won't get it! LOL

It's a wonderful life! Your a wonderful RUclipsr!
Great movie and I really appreciate your nice comment today
Dear Cassiy, you mention to put more ornaments into one listing, but if they have different print providers, how can they be made on the Printify side? You can only add one shipping option, and that is basically the manufacturer of the item. Don't all items in one listing have to come from the same print provider? Would be super cool to offer more types of product in one listing. Oh and the movie is Love Actually 🥰
Hello there, have you been able to apply for she said?
@@BeverlyMiller-k8m I haven't got an answer to this yet. Many say, we shouldn't put items from different print providers into one listing.
Hello cassiy, i was doing my setup on Etsy, they required one time fee to open the store. Or is their way i ain't did something wrong? I'm asking you because i was watching all your Etsy + printify videos you made for us
Hi there! Has anyone sold suncatcher ornament yet? Could you provide the name of another POD supplier that has this product?

@@duyenhoang10402 hei. I heard they provide free pictures and videos of products to sellers. I do not believe much? Is your experience of this real?

Why didn't you show how they come? In a box or in a USPS bag? It would have been interesting if you showed it., thanks for the video by the way 😊
I actually recorded that part but it doubled the length of the video so I ended up cutting it out! They all cal in padded mailers though so it was pretty simply packaging!
@@CassiyJohnsonthanks was really curious and waiting to see that part! Wish they would come in little boxes for better gift presentations!
@@CassiyJohnson thank you so much ! I'm very interested in that ❤️☺️

I'm so glad it was helpful, thanks for watching
It's painful to watch your videos, because I keep feeling like I'm being kicked in the backside - LOL! I know, I know; I need to get moving on all of the ideas that are spinning around in my head. Oh, and I love the "old school" fave, It's a Wonderful Life!
Has anyone sold suncatcher ornament yet? Could you provide the name of another POD supplier that has this product?
I'm selling suncatcher ornament, you can refer to Merchize

FYI, I ordered a ceramic ornament sample also, and it had random speckles! Larger than this and on both sides (they print two-sided). I hoped it was just mine :( They still look nice, but I wouldn't sell them and expect good reviews.
thats amazing, ty for sharing
How did the sled ornament come packaged?
It came in a nice padded mailer and in a plastic bag within the mailer. I might film some little videos of what the packaging was like since quite a few people have been asking!
Do any of you all have trademarks on your Etsy store name? This is the one area that I am finding conflicting info on. Thanks!
Do any of the printify ornaments come in a box? Many sellers on etsy highlight their nice ornament packaging.
No unfortunately none of the ornaments come in boxes, only padded mailer envelopes!
WeEngrave offers ornaments that come in gift boxes
Home alone 😍😍😍
Do you know which sup have glass ornament?
hi! I have sold Glass Ornaments from merchize in vietnam. I found their quality to be quite good compared to the average ^^ you could try
I recommend to you Merchize with a variety of quality glass ornament products

Hey great video. 1 problem tho and it's not with the video.
Your link for INCOME/EXPENSE REPORT WITH PROFIT CALCULATOR is flagging on my PC as blocked due to phishing, it might not be but I do not F around with the alerts.
Is there a way I can search this in etsy to find it?
Oh interesting, that's so weird that you are getting that error! You can find it on my website Cassiyjohnson.com and just purchase it there instead of using the link
@@CassiyJohnson that is the link that is giving the the alert. I guess it's just the website in gen?
amazing vid!!! ty
Really appreciate that, hope you have a great day
Nice. thanks for sharing
Why wouldn't you sell the sleg listing higher, it's obvious that it's a higher quality than the simple ornaments
