I hate to say this....but it's going to be too big for that space....it shouldn't be longer than the banister.....not enough room for the walk way.......other than that it is amazing... :)
Well, at least they're in a rental...hopefully it will fit better in their next house. It was hard to tell if the sofa has sections other than the corner. If it did, one of the sections could be removed, or placed across from the "L". I guess they'll figure it out when it's delivered.
@@sallybp2484 they’ll probably buy another couch for whatever house they get next . I’d like to know what happened to all the furniture they had in the house or the other rental and what’s all in storage 😵💫😵💫😵💫
Hopefully your sectional is not to large for your space.Encroaching into hall is going to become an issue with traffic flow. Also, anyone lounging on the end unit will be watching tv at an angle, not a comfortable position. Just speaking from experience😅. Nice choices though. Good luck. Thanks for sharing.
There's too much going on with all the cushions and colours. The blues look good. Couch is way too big for the space hope in a future move you have a bigger living room to accommodate this very big piece of furniture plus its always nice to have room to walk around big furniture pieces. All the best to you both. 🌻
Love ❤️ the couch & pillow selections !!! I do suggest giving yourself more room on that narrow hallway pass tho …. Might be a bit tight to scoot past 😮??
Way too big of a couch. An outline on the floor doesn’t really give how much space it will be consuming . It’ll be all couch and nothing else in the room. Barely room to even walk around it
The couch and coordinating pieces are great, but I wonder if the sectional (the way you taped it out) is really too large for that space. Your walkway shouldn't be blocked at all. Although the general rule is that there should be at least 18 inches for a walkway, from a practical, and aesthetic perspective, perhaps a little more space than that is needed. It's always exciting looking for new furniture for a new space! I'm enjoying watching the two of you in this process.
Standard for an interior walkway is 36”, with 18” around ottoman/table from main furniture for leg room. Keep in mind safety issues in the event of first responders having to manipulate around your living quarters.
SUGGESTION: Pull the couch towards the TV wall and place a console table behind (next to the stairs) for lamp/s, snacks, etc. That might help to give more walking space for the hallway (which is now only 24" or so). Great colors in the pillows! You will have to be patient while the custom couch is finished (just like your customers)LOL.
Yes. I bought a sofa table on Amazon to go behind my couch in front of a window for plants. It would be perfect to go behind your couch in front of the stairs.
Have you thought about turning the couch so that it goes along the window wall and the living room/dining room wall? Looking at your tape outline it looks like it could work. Then mount the TV on the wall between the kitchen and dining room and put a media center there. Most TV mounts pull out and turn for when your watching it if you need to. This way your not blocking the walkway and the room may look bigger, just a thought 🤔.
Crazy that Neiman is nice and young and wants a couch he can sink into. One day (sooner that he likes) he will be looking for something hard cause it's killing the back and you need help getting out of. Love furniture shopping.
I def would not block the walkway at all. Also if you more loosely coordinate pillows for more mixed then matched you won't have to feel like every pillow has a place and it's more comfy and lived in while still being stylish.
It's a beautiful couch but design wise it's WAY too big for your space. It'll look like your living room is nothing but couch that is blocking the flow of foot traffic as you enter the room. And as much as you two move it may not even fit at all in your next home. Just MHO
I think the TV should be centered on the wall and the couch is to far out on the walk way. That would be too long of a cough. Room is not that big. For should a big sofa ❤️🧓😘
Too much sofa for that square footage. It protrudes into the walkway. No room for end tables or lamps. It will make your room look cramped and smaller than it is.
Yay, Y’all did it!!👏🏻👏🏻 Congrats on gettin a new couch ordered; Great choices on pillows (different colors, sizes, textures make good contrast etc); I love tha At Home store/lots 2 cover, tho; Now, can’t wait 2 c it all come together n that space…. TFS, Happy & Excited 4 y’all too!! Take Care!! Enjoy Life!!!💜🌸🙏🏼💐💚
Don’t put the couch so close to the window that you can’t get to it to open the curtains and/or window. The couch should also not be so big that it goes into the walkway, past the railing. Big couches are nice for a short time. Then it becomes a burden to manage.
I have a sectional. And I bought a creamcolored round ottoman with storage and wheels. Love it. It breaks up all the sharp corners and rolls anywhere. Good luck.
The position of your test chair is too far into the walkway. You shouldn't go all the way to the end of the banister. I'd also place the tv a little bit more toward the dining room, maybe just a foot.
Looks really nice but keep in mind this is a rental. For the ottoman go with a contrasting fabric because the sectional is pretty large. Love what you two do! Custom orders take a long time these days so just be aware (8-12 weeks or longer).
Some sectionals come where you can switch each piece around. If you could move the corner piece to where the chaise is and swap the chaise with the opposite end piece (so confusing, I know) then I don't think there would be as much of the couch protruding into the walk way. If you can't move the couch around then some people had the idea just to move it forward and put a narrow table behind it, giving a little more space from the stairs to the kitchen. Just sharing my thoughts, I know that no matter what it will look SO beautiful.💛💙
Excited for you and it's like a dream in action. Glad you are getting a new set and not a used one so you have all fresh and nothing to redo. For your first couch it's pretty special. So fun. Please be careful about blocking off the hall too much. Love the colors you are choosing. It's going to be gorgeous! Yeahhhh happy days when all comes in and is set up. 🙂
Love your choices of pillows! And the sectional is gorgeous. Good thing about it is, if you decide you're too crowded at the top of the stairs, you can remove a small section and place it somewhere else alone. Possibly on the TV wall close to the dining room.
I’m afraid you’ll not be able to meet and pass another in the narrow walkway. Would hate to have to pause while someone passes before I could pass. The space should be as wide as the actual hallway so as not to be so disjointed from the size of the railing. I know you’ve already ordered it so I hope it works out. I love the style and color and understand why you fell in love with it.
I wouldn't have gone past the end of the railing. I can't wait to see it tho. I've never been a sectional gal but lately with the houses we've been looking at I'm leaning that way. Cozy.
Looking at the layout, it appears an impedance at where you come up the stairs… if you have people over it won’t allow room. Looks like about a foot shorter would work or turn the back to the wall and tv by stairs
Can't wait to see everything in your living room. I'm kinda not likin' the one gold one with the white squares but will wait until I see it all together. I love your blogs and FFT.
The couch and pillows are going to be gorgeous. I also like what another commenter suggested about putting a console table behind the couch, which would give a little more room to walk.
@@Mittenmarket I'm sure they'll end up doing this once they get the couch in and it's too big to go the way they currently have planned. It should probably be okay against the opposite side of the room though.
Love the colors! 😁 I can’t wait either!! With all the furniture issues in the past couple/few years I hope those issues are behind us/them and your new sofa arrives on time🙏🙏🙏 Please tell us you will be flipping a media center. 😁 In the gold color??😁
Congratulations on purchasing your brand new couch together. Once you have it in the room you can decide how you want it to function. The pillows look great. I think I would center the tv on the wall but you do you. It’s so nice to see how excited you two are
Nice choice on the sofa Lauren. It looks like the sofa is going to protrude too far into the walkway. Better to have it stop no less than the stair rail (shorter would be better but since you want something big, it would’ve been best not to have gone past that rail. Nice job on the mix of pillows. If you get a tv credenza, hang the tv 4”-6” above it so they relate to one another. Too much space in between will not look as cohesive. Also for the best viewing and neck experience, I think it’s supposed to be at eye level when seated.
The pillows will be gorgeous, are you an I D’er? Are your drapes, curtains matching the sofa since you have all the colors in the pillows? I’m sure anyway you do it will be perfect❣️
The more I think about it, the more sectionals seem to make sense, not just space-wise, but they look like family nests. Like a big cuddle. No one needs to leave the sectional all evening as long as there's one designated server. And then only one table, no end tables.
I’m so happy for you guys on your new couch- I can relate - I was so excited when we bought our first couch for our new home - can’t wait to see how it all comes together - love you guys ❤
💙💛🎉I can’t wait to see it all together! It’s going to look beautiful! And I love the pillows you picked out. And y’all are young and thin so you can easily get around your couch! Great investment!!🎉💛💙
It is a known fact that the sofa cushions density are of a higher grade on the show room items then the ones that you received .. So sitting from couch to couch isn’t the answer. Knowing how the couch is made is the answer . The couch is too big for your space. Wishing you the best as always. ❤❤❤
Too far into the walkway!!!😊
I agree it's gonna look too bulky for this room unfortunately 😕 Comfy looking couch though!
I agree! Too far into the walkway.
Agreed
Yes to far. And why not put TV in basement family room.
Yup.
TOO BIG!
Too big for that room imo
I hate to say this....but it's going to be too big for that space....it shouldn't be longer than the banister.....not enough room for the walk way.......other than that it is amazing... :)
I’d suggest to not having the entrance to the room crowded by the couch. Less is more sometimes. My humble 2 cents😅
Too big, your impeding the natural flow of your walkways. Take it from someone who did the same thing.
Yeah, I wouldn’t want my couch in my hallway.
Well, at least they're in a rental...hopefully it will fit better in their next house. It was hard to tell if the sofa has sections other than the corner. If it did, one of the sections could be removed, or placed across from the "L". I guess they'll figure it out when it's delivered.

@@flaminbird1 I thought they left it as a furnished rental.
Don't go pass railing. Get pillows same size.

I can't imagine having 10+ pillows on my couch. What a busy PITA haha.
Love that teal color. Is the couch going to extend too far into the walkway, though? 😨🤔

Also turning left when you come up the stairs, I feel as if one will naturally bump into the sofa.

I thought the same thing about moving it and putting a table behind it.
Why are you buying a new couch for a house your renting???....not that you don't deserve nice furniture.....and it's too big!!....keep looking!!!....

Funny. I was young & very pregnant when hard upright chairs were most comfy!😂
Then he would need a recliner. 😅
I had the exact same living room layout. Put the tv on the wall opposite the window and the couch in the corner opposite the stairs.
I think the walk way. Is too narrow with it out that far………fire code to think of.
I def would not block the walkway at all. Also if you more loosely coordinate pillows for more mixed then matched you won't have to feel like every pillow has a place and it's more comfy and lived in while still being stylish.
Can’t wait to see your couch all set up! I’m a bit concerned that the couch is going to take to much space into the hallway. I love the accent colors!
agree! Also, the couch will be facing the kitchen instead of the TV. Live and learn.
Can you rearrange the pieces of the sofa for another configuration?
Why wouldn’t you put the tv in the middle of the wall
Too big unless you can flip it around the other way. They can make it however you want, correct?
Isn't it risky customizing a brand new large sofa for a rental? Unless you plan to be there for a long time.
That was my first thought as well. I wouldn't be putting out the money for a customized sofa for a rental.
It's a beautiful couch but design wise it's WAY too big for your space. It'll look like your living room is nothing but couch that is blocking the flow of foot traffic as you enter the room. And as much as you two move it may not even fit at all in your next home. Just MHO
Too big for the space. Don’t let it protrude past the handrail.
Way to big a sectional and tv to close to wall should be more towrd the dinningroom!
Suggest consider making couch even with top of stairs only. Too narrow a walkway
Otherwise....excited for you guys.
Center the TV over the outlets
At least move it down about 6 inches. It would be more comfortable to watch TV.
Stop the couch at the railing.
Just buy pillow covers for the ones u have
I wouldn't want to have anything in that walk way, you would be obstructing the traffic flow. I wouldn't go past the end of the railing.
Whoaaa, that’s the biggest couch I’ve ever seen. I think a family of ten could be in need of one that big, but you 2? Yikes.
Why so many pillows?
I think the TV should be centered on the wall and the couch is to far out on the walk way. That would be too long of a cough. Room is not that big. For should a big sofa ❤️🧓😘
Too much sofa for that square footage. It protrudes into the walkway. No room for end tables or lamps. It will make your room look cramped and smaller than it is.
Nice job matching the pillows! It’s going to look awesome! You’re becoming quite the designer! 🙌💯
You should stop at the railing, not the wall. Taking up too much room. Move the TV to the right more. It's not centered.

Won’t that hurt your neck to watch the tv at the side?

Really like the pillows you picked out…glad you’re taking the target pillows back. The couch looks sooo comfy! Y’all did a good job! 🥰🥰🥰
Careful it doesn't end up looking like a giant play pen. Been there done that.

I think you need 36 inches for a comfortable walkway. That looks a little too intrusive into your walkway
I loved everything you picked!!! It is good you take your time to think out what you really like...Anxious to see it all set up..
Blankets! That’s my specialty. I make the no sew fleece blankets. They make great gifts.
Move the chair out of the hallway. The couch shouldn't protrude past that railing. It will make the space look too small.

Looking at the layout, it appears an impedance at where you come up the stairs… if you have people over it won’t allow room. Looks like about a foot shorter would work or turn the back to the wall and tv by stairs
Golden rule: your sofa should take up no more than two-thirds of the room length to stop it from overwhelming the space.
My brother-in-law found a loveseat at a garage sale for $50 and the matching sofa had a broken leg so they threw it in for free and he fixed the leg.
It's way too big for your space. You need to take inthe arms of the item. Then it will encroach more on you walk way
Lauren you need to consider what Neiman wants. It’s his home too! Poor Neiman can’t have an opinion.
Oh that chair is way to far into the walkway of your hall. You should not extend past the railing.
That's a lot of pillows lol
Enjoy your lovely couch and buy the TV ASAP ❤🎉

Not facing the tv right, no bueno
Sectional needs to be on your tv wall and tv opposite end by the railing. Or smaller sectional!
