I have the best father in the world and he passed on what he knew about fishing to my brother and me. We don't live close to the water here in SE KY so our time on the water has always been limited. Richard Gene has taken my knowledge base to a whole new level. I am catching fish now that i hadn't even thought about before RGTFM. Keep up the good work and I hope God continues to Bless you and yours.
Aww heck yeah he done broke out the Sasquatch shirt! Thanks for sharing so much information with us Richard! Because of you, I have caught more and more fish using what you share here with us! I’ve learned much from this man!
I "loop" it a lot especially if there's current an moving the line in a bow past the float. Wind can push the float one way and the current can take the line another. Another lil trick I do,on windy days is cast and grab the line right before it hits to straighten it out. Then I dip the tip of the rod to the water real quick. This gets most of the slack/bow out of your line and gets it on the water quick to keep the wind from creating another bow.
The one and only richard gene the fishing machine a fisherman a carpenter a framer the best videos I watch on RUclips I'd say I've watched every video many times been here for years and never miss one learned a lot from richard thank you sir God bless you and yours I build homes as well but don't catch fish like you buddy much love richard good luck to you and yours
Your always thanking everyone for supporting your channel but I just wanted to think you for sharing so much of your fishing knowledge with us. I use to only bass fish but I’ve ventured into some crappie fishing and you have helped me a great deal to get a few crappie in the boat. I haven’t been able to get out a fish lately my wife and I have been remodeling our house but soon very soon I’m gonna go out and get a line wet. Again God bless and thank you for your channel one day I’d would enjoy spending a day on the water with you. Thank you for your channel.
Good one Richard, your knowledge of fishing and crappie especially blows my mind… Thanks for passing down that knowledge to some good ole fellers on here.
Great trip fishing, Richard. 1/100 of an ounce, not gonna get any smaller unless you use a double knot. Thank you, my friend, for everything you share with us. God bless y'all, tell mama Sue howdy. Y'all be safe out there on the water.
That pin tail looks like it would pull in a lot of Penna rock bass in our warm slow flowing freestone streams. Same rig but short lead below bobber to bounce along the bottom through riffles and eddies behind rocks
will you be putting that t shirt in the shop soon? it looks great. i love using small jigs, i catch a ton of fish that wat. thanks for another great video.
I am grateful beyond words that you teach fishing from the banks. That's the only way I can fish right now, I just have too many mobility issues to get on a boat safely. As I get more experience my darling hubby is going to rent a pontoon I can get my wheelchair or rollator parked on. Your videos are so enjoyable even though my sweetie doesn't like fish or fishing, he loves your videos! Thanks & Lord Bless!
I used the same set up today when I noticed they started to get finicky, I got bigger fish than when I was using the normal 2” bait. Thanks again for helping out more fish on the bank
Hi Mr. Richard. As always, this is another great teaching session. I know you have several other videos out on fishing from the bank, but I think these last two are the most recent. I really appreciate this as I do not have a boat. So have the latest and greatest is very helpful and inspiring. I will be adding that Nikko Pin Tail Worm to my lure box as well. Thank you again for always sharing these great techniques. God bless.
Man im in love with my Falcon Evo Light rid, got it with Zebco 33 Trigger reel. Sooo much fun catching blue gill and crappie. Had a Micro Light Gx2 awt before that just so flimsy and the Falcon has so much more control but still light.
Ive been watching your videos for years learning how to catch crappie but ive yet to catch one. in this spot i fish we have a sand bank and 100 yards to the left thers a bunch of big rocks by the bank going to half the length of the river. Im gonna need to find someone in person to show me there ways lol
RGTFM needs to make a fishing blooper vid or few.... We all goof up once in a while...heck,look at commercialized Bill Dance,he's probably the king of bloopers.
I know this video isn’t about loop knots but I watched your video on how to tie but every time I do it I get this huge loop. Am I pulling the wrong part of the line, I usually grab both lines and tighten it or should I be pulling the tag end? “HELP”
Watch Richard gene the fishing machine, cause it's good for ya. Most awesome show on the tube

NIKKO Pin Worm, if you can put it on the hook, is just hard to beat. But you HAD BETTER have some small hook for them! : )

Pink always works for me
Richard, I learnt when I turned 50 years old to put a 5 gallon bucket with cedar chip in it in my boat when I go fishing.
Why
Cause I may have something to put in it that don't smell like fish.
350 thousand?!! Awsome!!
That bait did work good.
You are missing your handle cover on the right side of your Pflueger reel. Great video as always, God bless
Richard an you tell me where I can get a Zman flashback mini for crappie

Ive been watching your videos for years learning how to catch crappie but ive yet to catch one. in this spot i fish we have a sand bank and 100 yards to the left thers a bunch of big rocks by the bank going to half the length of the river. Them crappie is dark color! Beautiful sammiches yummy!!!
Hi Rich where do you get this bait
Great video Richard. So if I fish off a rocky dam the crappie should be there even after spawning?
We need adrelagine shirts asap😂
Could you put a link where to buy those 1/100th oz sickle hook jigs?
God bless you brother
Richard, so in the hot summer crappie will always be in structure or ramps/docks/trees?
Every time you show a new bait setup I have to go spend all my savings. Lol
So Richard Gene, what part of the Tennessee River are you fishing?
I know this video isn’t about loop knots but I watched your video on how to tie but every time I do it I get this huge loop. Am I pulling the wrong part of the line, I usually grab both lines and tighten it or should I be pulling the tag end? “HELP”

You can get the 100th ounce jigs at simply crappie

I use a weighted float with the light lures
@@BIGplanetLife ill have to give them a shot
@@kevinstevens5519 You can also use a small split shot beneath your float. Hope it helps. You can get the 100th ounce jigs at simply crappie
@@BIGplanetLife sounds great thank you
Gene, do you ever run into snakes fishing those rocks?
