I am enjoying this series very much, especially in "isolation". The choice of your music and the way in which you swatch, timing and everything makes your work very meditative. In an odd way, I couldn't help but link your background with math with this work as well. Your work supports my impression that we learn best when we can "waste" time with whatever we are learning. Beautiful work on your part. Again, thank you.
Aquarius has a fantastic range of blues and yellows. Initially the only green I had was Aquarius green, I did some swatches of various green mixes and actually they are fantastic and so rich, with movement and depth according to which blue and yellow you use. The AG added will mute things if you want and deepens the mixes, I was very pleased with them. And of course some of those muted yellow earths also add to the range. Unless your art practice demands exact colours that can be accurately reproduced over multiple pieces I think these mixes will more than satisfy a need for diverse greens.
I’m loving this series, Oto. This is my favorite paint brand so it is nice being able to see all the colors painted out. It makes it easier to choose which ones to purchase next 😍 thank you
The Aquarius Green looks amazing, but that Green Gold is right up my alley. I am really impressed with the wash colors on all of these greens, even though that Sap Green isn't yellow enough for me. I am hot and cold on earth tones right now. I am more willing to buy every blue and green paint on the planet ☺
Thanks Oto. I love the separation in the diluted Aquarius green. Plus the mast tone is also impressive. Boy, they really make PY43 work for them. Nicely as well.
Thank you for another amazing color swatching. I really like the Aquarius green, Natural sienna light, Naples yellow deep.. so pretty!! So happy to watch these right now especially with all that is going on. Oto it is a comfort and relaxing.
Thank you so very much for swatching this brand. Roman Szmal paints had been on my radar for about a year but I didn't have a lot of information or availability here in the states. The downside to watching your videos is that now I want all the paints! I don't need them, I just want them!!!:)
I am a bit obsessed with earthy greens, well all the greens to be honest. Granulatimg greens give so much life to floral paintings and illustrations as well as landscapes. I love the Hookers Green for landscapes and florals, and the Aquarius Green too. Now I sort of feel like I might want to try out the Olive Green light. I also have the Naples Yellow Deep on my pallette, I love it for the mixability and the granulation. It makes lovely earthy greens and even beautiful warm greys for skies when I've mixed it with french ultramarine. It surprised me how good it is for mixing, since originally I bought it for a soft yellow glow for skies.
Another “thank you” for swatching this brand. Yes, Aquarius Green is now on my list. It seems to have similarities with DS Cascade Green, which I just cannot get enough of. Would live to see a comparison of them. 🌺
I usually only see a couple greens in a given brand that I would use straight from the pan, they often have so many unnatural looking ones. So it's nice to see a small but lovely selection of greens from this line! Thank you for your videos Oto
That's a lot of pretties in a very short amount of time! How are there so may lovely colours to play with!!? Also, this brand looks very lovely to me in general.
If I were to choose three colours by Roman Szmal, I'd pick Aquarius Green, Perylene Violet and Przybysz Grey, three strong and interesting colours that can give various results depending on how you use them. I'm learning about the ochres/browns from your swatching, never was good with those colours and now I can feel I want to use them more in creating natural landscapes. *^v^*
ja bardzo lubię 344 Ocean blue, 334 Mineral violet, 336 Shadow violet, 401 Przybysz's grey i 239 Caput mortuum. bardzo lubię też wszystkie pigmenty ziemne
So many pretty colors 😭 I'm making a list - there are so many pretties I know I'll want once I'm able to spend money on fun stuff again! From this particular selection I'm definitely getting the aquarius green, I have a massive weak spot for paints that shift and morph and do beautiful things 😍
Loving the series! I tried to buy just max 6 of all of these colors but now I have a list over 36 colors 😂 I am in so muuch trouble. ANd don't know how to choose which colors to buy and not loosing all of my money.
Dear Oto, can you tell me if there is a comparable RS colour to the Daniel Smith Terre Verte? Maybe the aquarius green in a very light wash? D.S. is SO expensive I am searching for another brand, maybe even Schmincke or Holbein or White Nights is more affordable for me. Your expertise is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much! Your videos are a delight to watch 🙂
Did you notice any granulation at all in the Naples Yellow Deeps swatch? I have that colour from Roman Szmal and when I was testing out some mixes with it I noticed that it was separating out of the mix and creating what looked like a granulated effect. I checked the Jackson's website and it is listed as non-granulating. I was just wondering if I got a special one somehow, because I love the effect it gives and I don't want to run out and find out that the colour doesn't normally behave that way. Hope you're well and thank you for uploading these swatches, its really helpful :)
The Giraffe Whisperer I have the Naples Yellow deep on my pallette and it granulates and separates in mixes and makes wonderful surprising effects. I really enjoy it both as is and as a mixing colour.
I've been watching this video on 2x speed since my battery was dying. And oh my dawg, the music in the beginning gave me huge anxiety xd Thank you for this series, it's really helpful for those who want to get some paints of this brand.
Do water color tube ever dry out or go bad I was given 100 tubes of Daniel Smith paint that had barely been used I don't know if I should Pan them out or leave them in the tubes
Oto hope you and family is ok in this troubled period that we are all facing right now. You are making me go nuts for the entire range. But unfortunately Roman Szmal Range is not available in India. And due to this Covid19 lockdown home delivery or international shipping is out of limit right now. Hope to see better days soon. Love all ❤.
I wouldn't call Aquarius Green unique since it's similar to DS Undersea Green, except for using PBr25 instead of PO48. Alyona did a RSA review video (ruclips.net/video/LmraUWs9vao/видео.html) and said Aquarius Green was very close to UG. I know you did a showdown with Undersea Green before, would be fun if you compared them and maybe compared Moonglow with Przybysz's Gray. I'm okay with Roman Szmal making similar colors, it seems like he took the best from a number of top artist quality watercolor brands and made them his own.
Aquarius green is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!!! This is so relaxing to watch/listen to.

Aquarius Green is a stunning color.. I really like all the "Aquarius" colors. This paint is one of my favorites. TY for doing this series.

PBr25 is permanent brown? I’m going to see if I can mix my own Aquarius green from the tubes I already have 👍🏼
geckonia it’s called red brown in the mission gold line

Thanks.

Why did you write PG36 for phthalates green and say PG7
