    Oh yeah the Alesis looks so late 70's-early 80's Digital....Classic...I love it!
    When you got super excited and said, "I definitely heard a kick" it reminded me the of the "Robot Chicken" intro...
    (which I believe was borrowed from the original Frankenstein Movie, "It's Alive". Lol...all joking aside (I do believe you to be a jokster)
    I totally get how thrilling it is it, when your "old gear" works with your "new gear",
    Super cool, when you at the end, finally played the drums and triggered the OP-Z. Loved it, more like this for sure!

      Hahaha you have correctly identified a jokester! And yeah I was ecstatic! Even now, just thinking of the possibilities that this opens up makes me quite excited. I'm going to be trying a similar experiment with my electric drum module, because if that works it will cut down on a lot of setup time haha.

    Dude I remember back in the day when I worked for Pintech I was testing all kinds of drum pads with various drum modules and I started experimenting with midi and various drum machines. It was amazing all the combinations you could trigger. The Alesis io is the real star here, that’s a versatile piece of gear. Theoretically you could combine multiple devices via trigger and midi combinations. Like an OP-Z and Novation Circuit ETC.. Midi never stops being useful to those creative enough to use it, even in USB form lol! Anyways, cool vid!

      Danggg I used pintech gear for a long time! And yeah, I'm so glad that I picked up the trigger io when I did! It's saved the day for me many times haha. Thanks for watching!

    Great man... I have a Roland pm 16. It has only midi in & out . So I guess I’ll need a op lab module

      I believe there's another way to get 5 pin MIDI, but I think it was pretty convoluted haha. I want to say Cuckoo had a video about it!

    Great video and a device! Answered all my questions, so tnx 😀 what other devices like this are there? I heard about the Roland tmc6, so far can’t find it anywhere near and I do have a friend that has this alesis unit! Can I use my Roland spd30, to do the same thing? Cheers from Tel Aviv !

      What exactly are you looking to do with it? There's quite a bit going on in the video here hahaha.

      @@FreeBeat well , I’m trying to add more triggers to my tm6pro setup . I already got the alesis unit in my studio and it works great, I was asking what other devices can be used to maximise more trigger inputs. Tnx!!

    I’ve been thinking about this for days! And it would be awesome to record live sequencing beats with the pads (Maybe i’m the next vídeo? 😉)

    How does open/closed hihat work on the Alexis trigger??

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  4 года назад

      I'm not exactly sure, but I believe it has a dedicated input for a HH foot control pedal. I think it has to be an on/off pedal, not a variable one though. I could be wrong!

    Does your Trigger iO work flawlessly ? Mine seems to trigger on its own no matter the amount of threshold I use on the triggers

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  2 года назад

      Yes it does, have you played around with the other settings as well? Thanks for watching!

      @@FreeBeat Its been many years since I gave up trying to use it. Yes, I tweaked all the parameters crosstalk, threshold etc. Yesterday I read that the problem of random hits arises when using the usb connection. That it should be connected on the "front" or "back" (I dont remember). Ive always used it with a laptop so there is no front or back usb input. Anyway I will try using a Midi to usb cable instead to test that theory
