  • You guys requested it, so here we are! In this episode Carl and I revisit Birdlings Flat in the beautiful Banks Peninsula to give Carl and his CF Moto 450MT a shot at redemption on the infamous Birdlings Flat crossing! This time around the bike has more suitable tyres fitted, as well as a few tasty modifications that should equate to an easier time on the soft, sinking shingle. So, lets give the 450Mt another chance to "sink or swim".. Lets see how this is going to play out!

That's a good tyre option for this bike, you'll have loads of fun! Haha, yeah. That view of stones being thrown is a favorite of mine too!

So much better, right! The bike should have come with that as standard.

Birdlings is somewhat a rite of passage. 😅 My advice would be to not try it on your own if it's your first go. Lol.

The rear tyre on the 450MT is 150 wide, stock is 140 wide. How does it track/behave with the stock front tyre size, both off-road and tarmac?

Carl has been extremely happy with the wider footprint from what I understand. There are no clearance issues and it's done everything he's asked of it, so seems to be working well.
