    I love the tutorial, very cool technique! After flaming your knife, you may find, dipping it in thickened alcohol or hand sanitizer is a better way to keep it sterile.

      Strong alcohol is a good sanitizer, and we use it in the field for sanitizing gloves and hands. In the propagation greenhouse we process hundreds of plants a day and the alcohol jar gets dirty very quickly. Burning the blades after each batch is the easiest and most cost efficient way we found to eliminate bacteria and viruses.
