This video is amazing man. I totally feel the same way, my family moved to the states for a better life and more opportunities from PR. I feel like we got so much from living in the states and NYC specifically but I can see how my family lost sight of community and the joy of simplicity. I plan on moving back to PR soon for very similar reasons as your move to Mexico and to continue discovering my culture. I hope your life I Mexico is everything you hope for. I’ve been as pro USA as it gets my whole life even served in the Marines but my perspective has changed so much. Still love the ideals of the country but I’m so tired of the work culture. I’m 28 so I’m still fairly young in that culture but I see it with my 53 year old dad who hates his job and makes good money but it’s all he gets to do in his life and all for what, just so his car is a little nicer and he can retire and finally start living? I hate that idea of how to live life.

You're young, at 26 you've started to understand things some people will never get their whole lives. So, thank you for sharing your experiences and viewpoints with us, great job *8 ) Keep growing. Keep learning. You seem to be on the right track, and I think you'll know in your heart when you're not. Growing older can be great at any age, just be a little wary of 'growing up', as giving up often disguises itself that way. Stay curious. Enjoy your youth, and use it, you won't regret it. I hope those don't come across as directives, you can take them as suggestions if you like but the truth is they're the heartfelt requests of another interested traveller that thinks he and the world has something to gain from you being your best you. Honestly, the thought of leaving the U.S. has been ever persistent, especially since I traveled to Japan back in July. I thought about either Canada, Japan, the Netherlands, or Portugal (my paternal lineage is Portuguese, after all). I feel like for me that it would be easier said that done, but I am paying close attention to 2025. Because when a political party digs its heels in on culture war issues, passes laws that hurt minorities, and even get on a stage to call for eradication of a group of people and identity to applause, that to me is a sign that now is the best time to consider leaving. Fleeing a Southern state to a West Coast state was one thing, but the whole country...I am thinking real hard, especially as a journalist.

For many, it is not about surrounding oneself with material goods, but rather with rich experiences that involve others. Open hearts and open minds are about engaging in what is going on. It's not just about gathering information; it's about understanding our world better. If you're also constantly curious and eager to learn, then you're showing wisdom beyond your years. It means you understand that there's always more to learn, no matter how much you already know.
I believe every American should live abroad for at least 6 months to get de-programmed from what they have learned. I was fortunate to serve in the military, where my beliefs and world view were quickly smashed by just living with and in diverse places that was very different from my upbringing in GA.

True. People underestimate how hard it is to get a visa in most other countries and most people have too many commitments to up and leave. So I'm grateful to have the opportunity while I'm young
If you talk to mostly successful, double citizenship, Mexicans, you can see how the profit from both sides and that’s how it should be for most Americans if I was president, my slogan would be make North America great again I don’t got time for the Europeans right now
It's getting more complicated now than before, political situation, the awake agenda, recession, continuous sh00tings in public places happening right now, who wants to stay in USA but then again what are we Mexicans going to do with so many gringos and foreigners? ☹️😨
With remote work from usa obviously many countries are better to live than usa, but try to live there knowing their dime.. nah man you got it all wrong, look at all the millions of emigrants we get here in usa, and not the ones that came for free stuff but the ones that come for a more opportunities, even those American dream is going down the toilet with all the division is going on

Not everyone has the option of packing up and leaving the US, but if a lot of people could they would.
