Armin van Buuren started sharing a very personal documentary about the early days of his musical career. The six-episode story takes viewers on a ride through the mind of the five-time #1 DJ in the world himself as he gives a unique insight into his life as an artist, from his days as a curious toddler to the struggles and insecurities he faced as an emerging artist. In the end, it all culminates in the ‘The Best Of Armin Only’ show at the Johan Cruijf ArenA in Amsterdam on May 12 and 13, his biggest show to date.
Friends and family can play a very important role in the life and career of an artist, and episode 3 of ‘Mr. Perfect’ tells the story of such support from loved ones. It revolves around Armin and his childhood friends Ruud and Vincent, and about how he met his now-wife Erika on Ibiza while he was there with Ruud and Vincent. We all knew how Erika grew to become his tower of strength, of course.

A real woman does exactly what Erika has done for Armin - remind him that he's human, remind him that there are more important things in life other than career and that even when he feels like he can't say no, it's okay to say no. Tbvh after my worst relationship, I felt like relationships were pointless. But seeing people in happy, healthy relationships made me realise that mine was a toxic relationship.
Some marriages end in divorce yes, but not all do.
In my case, I could say all men are terrible and women should stay single... but the truth is that there are both good and not so good people out there. We meet people for a reason, the not so good to teach us lessons and the good ones to be appreciated when they come along.
When we find good people we should acknowledge their good traits, when we find "bad people" we acknowledge what makes them appear bad to us and learn to not have such characteristics.
It's all up to you, the individual.
My God Armin, I want YOU to know that I cried at about half of this third episode. Seeing you happy with your fabulous wife for me it's great. Tears fell on my face a lot, I was happy and really really thankful to you and your wife, cause you made my best genre of music growing year after year. I'm 52 and love Armin. I was always worried that he was burning his candle at every end. However, with Erika, she protects him. I like where she says she didn't fall in love with DJ Armin; family will keep him grounded. May the two of them stay together forever.
