Underrated comment
When it's my first time at the fishing convention and I'm nervous about telling everyone my favourite fish
Dan Saunders gold
Next video title: "Jacob Collier harmonizes the birds in his backyard"
Please
I wouldn't be surprised anymore
I would actually watch that.
I will literally watch that!!!
Marina Herlop already did that!
If you think a u-bass isn’t versatile, the answer is that you’re not versatile
No more government subsidies for the u-bass!
NO MORE GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES FOR ACTIVE BASSES
*points aggressively*
If you think it’s derivative, YOU’re derivative
No, this is a 1982 single-speed bridge-stone; you're eating 4 pounds of white flour pasta a night, just put it in the work, cut from a tree, okay? Stop whining!
I imagine him repeatedly hitting his head against something and that's what's keeping the rhythm
I like that
Laughed way to hard at this lmfao
The sound you hear is his brain hitting his forehead.
he's hitting his head against the black bar!
thats some serious Parasite vibes lmao
This makes me want a ubass now
Is this with an amp or is he just playing really loud?? Can't figure it out lol
shad3 Mostly likely without since he’s playing outside unless he’s using a portable amp or something like that
i don't know whether to get something like this or a normal full or length bass as a first. i already have an acoustic guitar which still i'm learning on but my main instrument is keys.
@@GrumpyStormtrooper full length bass i would say
saucy risi bruh why is this exactly me
This instrument sounds weirdly similar to your singing voice and I dig it
It's strange I hear a lot of his vocal inflections in the instruments he plays and vice versa.
It's cause he sings like he has a fucking pool ball stuck in his mouth
@@brandonandalexander you mad cause you have no talent
@@brandonandalexander on a classical level though, it's interesting seeing someone sing like that because it creates this space for vibration, like an acoustic instrument
@@brandonandalexander shut up 🙂
He could create a whole album with just these snazzy bass vibes and I would devour it all day!
Snazzy bass vibes 🤮🤮🤮
There's a funky feeling in my bones...
Get me one of those Thicc Ukelele’s.
Ye same aha
Thicccccccccccccccc strings man
thuucculele
@@ryderlippman3105 thucculele dudeeee REEEEEE
Nutsack theory is in the same limitations as bass
An absolute clinic on groove, phrasing, melody and harmony. Been playing bass longer than he's been alive and I've never been this deep into the music. Perfect pitch meets perfect dedication. God's gift.
Perfect pitch on the fretted bass?
When I first saw/heard this, immediately picked up my bass and learned it. After about 10 minutes of playing it, decently, my roommate knocked on the door. I stopped and and opened the door and my roommate was like, “Dude, I came in here to tell you that’s a dope ass bass line”.
First time he ever interrupted me to tell me something like that hahaha.
Fucking Jacob Collier, Thanks for the songs and inspiration!
I'd die to hear a song with this as its bassline
fucking jacob collier!
Where did u find the tabs? Dying to learn this
@@bloodymess7413 I just looked at the frets he was hitting in this video and filled in the blanks by ear. Also slowing down the video helps!
@@bloodymess7413 if you got some experience under your belt this bassline is actually easy to learn by just listening to it and trying to replicate it. Just pause every few seconds and learn it piece by piece until everything comes together! it's really not that hard except for the faster jazzy parts
The GROOVE is immaculate!
@Lisa Medvetsky yeah it is. As if this guy hasn’t already mastered enough other musical techniques. 😆
He should play a fretless and become Jaco Collier.
According to the video, the weather report looks clear
@@bonjourmssr Not a fan of that remark you made
Jaco Collier is also Am pentatonic
@@youcantkeeprunninginandout7240 But his garden is definitely Birdland
Good one hahaha
it looks like he is holding back in every way to not use his vocals for the sake of this being just an instrumental
_me listening to any music ever_
He starts singing at the end
I once tried fretless u-bass in a store, thought "wow so cool but is it like... seriously playable?"
now I really feel like going back and buying it after the quarantine is over here
gosh I even feel like making one from stuff I find around house
thanks jc, you always make me wanna try new stuff
..2nd option...if you possess that skill set. Bass💗Love
You have to have a super delicate touch on these because if you press down on a string and slide upwards you could be stretching the string behind your finger, due to friction, so the note you are aiming for on the slide may be flat when you get there haha
because of him i want to buy an Oud, a bass, and a djembe.
i don't need any of these except for maybe the electric bass.
saucy risi Don’t forget a Harpeji
already started making one haha. also I kinda want a wooden tongue drum & I figured out maybe if I make the tongues on the front side of the u-bass, I might be able to play it with little tuned percussive slaps added.
found a wooden box, wish me luck
Good lord, his timing and groove is otherworldly!!! Pretty sure metronomes practice to Jacob Collier.
Chuck Norris has met his musical match…
Your playing never fails to make me smile, thanks Jacob.
I am so grateful that you’re making music during this hard time it’s brightening my day! But on the other side i feel guilty not practicing enough to be able to express myself as freely on the instruments...
Anyway you’re truly my hero thank you for everything
from 0:23 starts a bird solo with a beautiful hammond tone. Beautiful things that happen in this beautiful ART called Music or MUSIC called Art 😍
This is one of the most "bassiest" videos I've seen in all my "bassy" life. Well "bassed", Jacob, well "bassed"!
Un-funky-believable!
🅱️ass

My God, the transference of musical information from this man’s head to his soul & fingers is amazing. Quincy Jones should be canonized by Rome for finding Jacob.
lol we would have found him anyway!
Quincy didn’t discover Jacob. We did. He just noticed after enough of us watched his videos and raved about him
Jacob you are THE man . A constant active imagination brought to fruition through your music , videos and motivation. Thank you for the breath of much needed fresh air 👍👍👍👍
He always seems like he’s half hanging out the song this the end then he brings it back for a resolution. It’s amazing the flow he creates
U-Bass is the best!! I wish you are safe and taking care of yourself, thank you for spreading joy to the world in such a difficult time
I just had to smile at the fast descending line; there is always something unexpected with Jacob. Rock solid beat, as well.
The way you imply such an awesome harmony with just the bassline is incredible.
My man playing my favorite instrument! U-Bass is the way. Great playing as always, Jacob!
Collie504 mode on
Lmaaoooo😂
Luna Bhattacharyya EPICO
Don’t forget to SLAP like .👋🏾
Just needs some SLAPP!!
Absolutely!!!
Dude... this is one of your coldest,
rawest videos. Can’t stop watching. So bad! More 🔥
Awesome. Nice to chill once and awhile
Such a beautiful and talented soul
This just isn't fair. How could Jacob jam so hard and not also give us the power of his voice in harmony with the Ubass 😭
Jacob Collier sharing love and joy with the world as he does
I always find myself coming back to this song, it’s so good
The vibessss,,,, are imMAculate
Sick -- funky, fun, and nicely played. Hints at more, just beyond the notes. Really enjoyed it, man.
..the world needs this man's Music..I need that Kala. Bass💗Love
Such a nice timbre!
Eres el mejor Jacob... Te amamos saludos desde México
This just got me even more hype for the kala U bass I just ordered!
Dude I’ve been on such a JC binge and now this?
Lord thank you
Jacob literally is THE MUSIC
Dude... the talent. I'm literally shaking
the vibes are immaculate
Etonnant ! On n'est pas champion du monde parazar ! 😁 Bravo pour ces précieux moments et renseignements !.
Groovy as always
Have always loved the bass in this tune!
Loved the sound and the melody!! 😃❤
You're my new favorite after your TED songs!!! You are brilliant!!
2:05 he hums a harmony to finish out the video wonderfully.
Revisiting this a few months later, I really feel like this might be the best thing Jacob has ever released. Of course his music is wonderful but here is such a raw and natural performance where we can really see how gifted he is at this instrument. I feel like every song now has so many parts and layers and harmonies that you end up missing the simple beauty of his talent on so many instruments. He is brilliantly talented, I just wish he simplified it every once and a while so we can really take it all in.
Easily one of my favorite SW tunes. Nice man.
Thank you for your music 💚
Please post more videos like this! It freakin grooooooves!!
I love music and have spent inordinant amounts of time with it, but ... this guy truly lives it.
What an excellent song to pick !!
i can't stop watching this video!!!
I just ordered my very own kala U-bass! Maybe one day i´ll be a thousandth as good as Jacob!! that'd be great :)
Wonderful cover jacob! Cant wait to see you in berlin!
Jacob Collier is pure music.
Nice to see you on a sunny day :-)

You can’t hold no groove if you ain’t got no pocket. You got dat pocket boi! Sounds 👍🏽 great.
This makes me happy i love your music
Yeah big thumbs up from a bassplayer :) Great Stevie song!
That's a lethal groove right there.
Happy Earth Day to you ! Thank you for this awesome bass version of the song.
I would like to wish, that we (the whole world) become better inhabitant on our planet after the deconfinement . (from Montréal, Québec,Canada).
Urgh yes, I needed this in my life during quarantine, thanks Jacob, you're saving the day once again :D
This just oozes summer feelings, just what I need!
my ears have been blessed
This was my introduction to my current favorite artist :)
You are my inspiration bro
AWESOME 👏🏽
Such a mood guy! Amazing!
Boogie on dude, never stop inspiring 👍👍!
Just got a U-Bass, this will be the first thing I learn on it. Much love, Earthly friend :-)
Did you learn it?
This guy has too much talent. It’s unbelievable
this is gold
Sometimes it is hard to understand that you are a full human being with heart and mind if I see those fingers work on an instrument (Yes, I know, that heart and mind have a slight influence), loving greetings from Germany
Tone is in the lips, rhythm is in the neck, and funk is in the squint
Sweet, on the spot kid. Keep em coming!
... and my bass face immediately comes out to play along ;) Very, very cool groove JC :)
absolutely GROOVY my dude!!!
This man's emphasising beats 1 and 3 🤯🤯 in a pleasant way 😂
Jacob, you cannot distract us. We are all waiting for No. 3 😁
Brilliant!!
amazing man! love your content!
ah! i love this!! i’ve been trying to pretend like i’m as cool as jacob on my U-bass too during isolation! haha
Nicely done! You make that thing sound suh-weet!
NICE! One of my favorite of his lesser-known works.
