Unpopular opinion: Jessica is the most relatable girl on the show for those of us who weren't the most confident growing up and had self esteem issues. We all were young and stupid once and I don't see why they keep making a big deal that she was with Jason for a few months when she was only a teen at the time. Most teenage boys were idiots, and it took time for many girls to develop their voice and stand up for themselves. Maybe a bit too deep for a rewatch podcast but hey ho!
Very true, I was wondering if Kristin would touch on that topic. I think once they have her on, they’ll dive deeper into her low self esteem in HS. Most girls were more of a Jessica, rather Kristin whom seemed to have more of a grip on her confidence. I always wanted to tell the younger Jessica, “who told you you weren’t good enough?” She was so naturally pretty, but it only goes to show true confidence must show up on the inside first.

Honestly and truly. He never did anything wrong, it was ALL editing, splicing, MTV, or Kristin. Ugh. I'm past annoyed at it. I love Kristin so I keep listening, but ugh. 😑
I think it’s a bit of both. He truly cared and liked Kristin, and LC was his rebound/placeholder when he wanted some easy affection. It showed in the show, and he nicely explains it in the podcast, being very careful not to hurt LC’s feelings.
@@aesco510 yeah when i first watched it back in the day i thought he was then i rewatched it this weekend and i’m like damn i’ve been bamboozled and definitely get Kristin way more …. (Kristin was always my favorite btw) but i like her way more now after rewatching

This is why I was never mad at Kristin for dating the way she wanted to. Everybody was calling her the player but Stephen was playing just as much, if not more.
He was always *actively* running between Kristin and Lauren to keep both of them on the hook. But God forbid Kristin even looked in another guy’s direction, then Stephen’s feelings were hurt and he was ready for the get-back.
This is the only podcast I actually enjoy listening to

I'm sitting on my mom's porch in Laguna, drinking wine and listening to these, I love it! I'm not from Laguna but from So Cal. I'm the same age as Stephen so I've been invested since day one and I love these.

MTV had you bring Lauren flowers and chocolate AFTER Valentine’s Day 🌚 because you forgot to tell her Happy Birthday? 🤔 Although viewers already got to see you spend Lauren’s birthday WITH her in Mexico. (Where you denied hooking up with her) Talan exposes you in the next episode in Mammoth to Lauren saying that you saw them both on the same day. Just own up to your player ways and stop placing blame alllll on MTV
BUT; laurens bday is 1st week or second february; so i get why he could have brought gifts same weekend cause he was in town… even when LC said she hates valentines; she said Stephen did not call her im assuming it was about her bday because otherwise it would be weird for her to expect a valentines call….and here he says he didn’t call her on her bday
@@leratosiwela9251 her birthday is the first day in February, two whole weeks before Valentines Day. He literally spent her birthday with her. Next episode Talan asks Lauren how her Valentine’s Day was and after Lauren gives a smitten response he then tells her that Stephen went to dinner with Kristin right before. Stephen knew what he was doing. He likes to place blame all on MTV/editing but it was clear he was happy playing both sides
@@nickih1307 I'm pretty sure that the trip wasn't on her exact birthday, didn't they mention it on a podcast episode? It may have been to "celebrate" her bday but I think it was out of order and spliced in editing.

I thought/think Jessica was being 100% sarcastic when she said she deserved it, thinking he'd be like " no you didn't" but of course he didn't say that. And then she even asks WHY he treated her that way. Am I the only one?
There was a scene in the limo where he's obviously drunk and tired and over it and she's literally got her hands on him dragging him towards her. I always thought she just meant she realized she was being overly clingy.

I believed he dated both ladies at the same time and - he was lying to both so he loved Kristen but cared about Lauren I don’t think he ever loved LC but their chemistry ..is undeniable.. and he even admitted he lied to both .. so more friendship was going on between them 2 before filming started .. You gotta wonder how that exposed .. confrontation between Kristen and LC and Stephen went down 😂

Kristin is a saint to put up with this attitude especially considering we STILL don't know what happened in San Fran with you and stage-five clinger (c'mon just say you HOOKED UP with LC once and for all). You don't have to go into detail, but you could at least admit to it. Can this just be addressed once and for all because it adds to Kristin and how she reacted in S2 (which we WILL see she hints to towards the end of S2), but hey, who am I to actually bring logic to the conversation, huh?

Yes, sarcasm, Jessica was extremely intelligent in school and they advanced her up a year. As a kid she was as intelligent as kids couple years older so her sarcasm will be missed by the not so sharp amongst us. If you recall her run in with Lauren at the Fight the Slide event when Lauren slays her for sitting on Jason's lap and tells her to fix her own hair and makeup, Jessica replies with dripping sarcasm! Also Jessica dated a guy called Mike before dating Dieter/Jason and was devastated when Mike broke up with her out of the blue. Alex Hooser consoled her as they were bffs but when Jessica saw Alex Hooser with Mike shortly after she was shocked and she and Alex H broke off their friendship for a long time afterwards, lol!
She was fishing for the opposite, as in wanting Jason to say she didn’t deserve it and it wasn’t her fault. Sorry but Jessica and her attitude were *i n s u f f e r a b l e* so yes the breakup was partially her fault.

Kristin is always trying to justify her cheating actions by going back to Lauren and it doesn’t always work.
She does justify her cheating at times, but I respect how she takes responsibility for being a mean girl and admits she was just young and insecure. Kristin has truly matured, Stephen however takes NO responsibility. He hasn't matured as much 🤷🏿♀️

C'mon, Kristin cannot remember what happened back then completely, but she has APOLOGIZED regardless of that fact. Steph-EN seems to remember everything BUT his own behavior. Jason may have changed but back during these times, he was a classic example of a gas lighter. It was horrible how he treated not only Jessica, but Alex and Lauren as well. The gas lighting on these shows are hard to watch. Glad he has changed and did the work.

Stable?! I think they had a high school romance and it's great they can remain friends, but I don't find anything stable from what we saw on tv, half the time they couldn't stand each other and both have even said that they were more serious before MTV was there, they were on/off during filming. They were all a mess in hs!
