    Hey Shane, I’m curious what poundage you went with on your new bow? I currently shoot a Tomahawk SS 40#@28 with just under a 28” draw. I’m looking at your long curve and was thinking I should move up to 45-50lb. I love the feel of the reflex/deflex but would like to try one with the recurve limbs. Seems to me it would be the best of both worlds. As much as I like the sound of the swift performance, I just love the look and feel of the smaller riser in the 50’s style. Keep up the great work!

    Loved the end that was great. Can you put different style limbs on your mod b 3 piece riser like the reflex deflex or the such

    • @caseysmith544
      @caseysmith544 Год назад +1

      @@greatplainsbow Yeah, just make the options for both risers to fit the limbs, this way people could have your flat limb longbow for some instances and a recurve for others. without having to switch the riser handle style they like the best be it the notched type you do or the recurve style handle.

    Your videos are very informative! The hunt at the end of this one is top notch. I've read somewhere in one of your video that you shoot 3 under. Do you see any advantage of gloves vs tabs for 3 under? Thanks man. keep making these. Super helpful for noobs like me

    • @greatplainsbow
      @greatplainsbow  Год назад +1

      Honestly there are pros and cons to both tabs and gloves. In general a tab delivers a little cleaner release as it has better weight distribution vs a glove where each finger is hooked on the string. I shoot 3 under with a glove. Gloves have the advantage of allowing the archer to feel the string better. It really comes down to what you get used to and what you personally are more accurate with

    • @SmallGameHunter
      @SmallGameHunter Год назад

      @@greatplainsbow I also shoot 3 under with the gloves. Which gloves are your favorite? Also, whats the pro's way of selecting a proper nock fit to your bow string? Thanks man

  • @caseysmith544
    @caseysmith544 Год назад +1

    I always use 2 nocks on my bow one on top of the other to have it easier to tell the correct up and down of the string. Also, this helps with the nocks potential for sliding not that I have had this issue. I like and will be putting on the Bowjax II their silencers orginally made for compound bows; these come in a 4 pack and using 2 on each bow. I like the rubber too for the same reason but wanted something smaller less visible then rubber of cat whiskers as bigger like the puff balls/cat whiskars ends up being a distraction to me when shooting.

    Your anchor style is interesting. Is the arrow under your eye or off to the side? If its off to the side how do you aim? I shoot thumb draw sometimes and i have to cant my bow to get the arrow to land under my tip.

    Just so I'm clear once I set the brace height on a take down bow when I unstring it will I have to measure the brace height every time or will the string stay where it is initially set?

    • @greatplainsbow
      @greatplainsbow  Год назад +1

      If you keep the string on the bow unstrung the brace height will remain the same, but if you take the string completely off the bow it will slowly untwist itself and you'll have to reset the brace height

    I used to always leave a gap on the inside Bottom corner of the shelf and carpet, but after watching several slow motion Videos I noticed that the fletching is nowhere near the side of the riser. If I'm missing Something please feel free to correct me.
