- Hey folks! Please enjoy my first BTS video for the new fan-made animated Batman film "Batman: Broken Promise"! This video is a draw-a-long style demo of how I personally draw The Batman, and the thought processes by which I designed my own iteration of the Batsuit.

I loved the short film, so I was super excited to see this peek behind the scenes, especially since I loved your take on the batsuit design. Your script was fantastic, your fight choreography was stellar, and Your visuals were stunning. I think my favorite shot is the shot of two face’s screaming red skull like face coming at the camera through the darkness. Bloody brilliant. So much can be done in animation that live action just can’t touch. I am constantly making iterations of batsuit designs, because as you said, Batman is infinitely reworkable. Keep up the amazing work!
Everyone should do their own Batsuit, it’s a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!

Just watched this with my kid, who was totally in awe, brought back a memory of meeting Norm Breyfogle and getting a pencil sketch by him at a comic con in London in 1990 and we swapped tips on making costumes, 32 years later I'm still doing bat-suits, my latest cowl is on a short on my channel and will create something with the current costume sometime this year

While I will always have my favorites from the comics, your design of Batman is easily becoming one of them for sure. I can say for a fact you have my second favorite Two-Face (heh heh) and definitely my favorite Scarface. Keep it up please, I’d love this to be more than a one time thing!!

@@dkminer9954 Those are amazing rogues! If I did another Batman, I may well go down the more sci-fi/fantastical route, as it’s a huge part of the comics and the movies probably won’t be touching them for the foreseeable. 🦇

Definitely would love to see more BTS content. Looked like maybe you utilized Blender Grease Pencil? Am I wrong? Anyway, film was amazing. Loved pretty much every second of it. Love to see anything more you'd like to share. Really enjoyed hearing your take on variability of design in the character here, and why you made the choices you made. Great stuff.
Thanks so much!!!! I didn’t use grease pencil, but I really want to give that a go! The 2D elements of this was done in Animate and Toon Boom Harmony and then composited in 3D shots using After Effects.

Broooo when is your Batman Sequel? I’d love to see an episode revolving around the joker or maybe mad hatter. I know this animation and art style is a lot of work, but I can see this becoming a chain of episodes, all loosely based off of each other, with different stories.

Great behind the scenes look on your version of Batman and I dig the Bat logo myself. I also enjoyed the subtle details and design in the suit.
Speaking of subtle details, I noticed a couple of them and I imagine more in Broken Promise. Some easily spotted, ie (Harvey Dent / Two-Face standing underneath the "I" in BELIVE with the red part of his suit to create "I BELIEVE.") The other subtle detail was and correct me if I am wrong, but did I really see the Bat logo on the back of the drug package that Batman picked up in the warehouse? After he finds the switch that changes the color of the package?
This animated short has certainly knocked it out of the park. Very well written, timely done, fantastic animation, and great voices and music to go along with it. Very excited to see what the next phase holds.
Thanks! And yeah, I love that people are finding some hidden details. The "I" in Believe, but also "LIE" very prominently framed behind him in the shot, showing his disaffection from the system. The Bat logo you saw on the drug packet was actually on the plastic case he was carrying the evidence in - That's right, Batman has branded evidence bags!

Your short film was so amazing. Who does Batman fight nxt? Bane? Scarecrow? Penguin? Whatever you decide I'm sure it's gonna be amazing. How about Black mask hires Deadshot to take out Batman? I dunno, you just got me excited about Batman again.
That's awesome!!! There's so many great villains to choose from. I loved how people have responded to Two-Face and The Ventriloquist, and so if I thought about doing another one I think I'd try and use more "underrated" villains. It's always great to hear who you guys would pick!

Can you do a video drawing the bat suit ? The full suit from top to bottom, cowl, bat symbol, utility belt, boots, etc. I want to see you go in depth with how you came up with the suit
I 100% agree with the bat symbol on the utility belt, I’ve always been annoyed by the hyper accessorized Batman suits + equipment with have vat symbols everywhere,

Hey Stephen the spikes on his gauntlets are little knifes you some time uses them as a weapon
I’m well aware! I have him use them to break a sword in half, I just wanted to make them less like exposed blades as I feel like they’d be a bit of a liability. I kind of have my cake and eat it, in that he can use them to block or shield himself and then use them as weapons of he chooses to use them at the right angle.

@@stephentrumbleanimation2579 🤔 No Idea, but I've seen some comics artists who sale pieces in about $40 (a price that I can't pay😅but I think that's the price and probably people from USA could pay it without much problem) *but I didn't mean the physical poster in my first comment, I want it on digital, in the highest possible resolution, an uncompressed png* I can show you an example of what I mean if you want. *Also, what do you think about uploading the film to some server like Mega or Drive and share the link, because RUclips compresses it and it looses image quality*
