Hoid having a bandoleer of Hemalurgic spikes not implanted makes sense so that he has the powers available to him (i.e. pop one in as an earing for a while while he needs it), but remember that there was a First Age Mistborn novel where one the characters being spiked was an end-of-series reveal that is an important turning point of the novel, and an entire second-age Mistborn novel written about why one of the characters removed their spikes on purpose. Hoid may be afraid of giving Harmony more access than he's comfortable with, or worse, that isn't the only Shard that weakness would apply to.
I’d even wonder if the spikes are for (temporarily) giving to other people, as even one spike lets a shard get in your head. In fact, I wonder if the book Brandon was referencing was Tress, where Hoid could have powered up the Crew.

7:36 - if that is the case (as expected!) and really push back on THE AUTHOR having the final say, if I was Brandon I would drop the TV show for now. Go for independent creators, they will definitely give you the lead that the story deserves or just go full independent yourself. The Stormlight story doesn't need to be flashy or heavily marketed, it just needs to be done on film EXACTLY AS IT IS in the books. It will market itself.
I disagree about EXACTLY like the book. Most adaptations would be boring af if they're done exactly to a book. Even moreso with Brandon-sized books. There's gonna have to be liberties made to make things flow well onscreen. Even Brandon acknowledges that.
48:16 "You would fall upward faster. But that's not how gravity works". Sorry, that's exactly how gravity works downwards. You fall with a speed FASTER (time squared).
@@TheAgamidaexYou're right. I misunderstood the question. You fall exponentially faster as time passes (that's what I meant), but not even faster if you add weight. Galileo demonstrated that long time ago without feruchemy. :)
Guy at 19:09 is doing Cosmere Arithmetic. He'd love Word2Vec (King - Male + Female = Queen), but that's not how it works. He's missing a step, as Brandon says. He's missing the emotional plot to structure the spiritual mumbojumbo.

So, any theories on the identity of the mysterious dragon that dated Hoid?
Pretty sure Brandon just confirmed renarin can bring in different versions of characters we have from his powers, as in if odium gets control somehow, dark dalinar vs knight dalinar
40:08 THE COSMERE HAS DYSON SPHERES?! HOLY SHIT!
Anyone else notice how he almost said canticle was built for a person before correcting himself to built for a purpose???
I love how Xzavenus is the craziest name Brandon can think of and that's 2 letters off to someone I know in real life XD
I think the feruchemist would fall up faster?
I've been wondering about the rude or obscene gesture. 😂
I always thought it was the middle finger
Crazy theory of mine:
Jasnah Kholin is the Shard Hoid dated. She will become the new Honor somehow you heard it here first!
What evidence do ypu think you have? I've yet to see anything remotely hinting at that. Other than her mysterious ailment as a child that we know nothing about. I don't see her becoming honor, that's gonna be kaladin if he doesn't die or become a herald
I think if she ever does get a shard it will be the hinted Intellect shard (hinted at in the spoiler stream on KHMD)
you're taking this too seriously my bro, we're all just having a little fun here together ok @@seanhalpin87
Came here to say this. You beat me.
No evidence, just a cracked theory. She def would fit in a different shard but who knows,a certain mistborn character only took 1 book to become the perfect vessel for one half of his shards.@@seanhalpin87
Could someone answer me if this has WOT spoilers?
It doesn’t
I’m so glad multiverse isn’t in the menu 🎉🎉🎉
I love spoilers. It lets me wonder how the narrative in a story builds until it fulfills that spoiled portion of the plot.
Stormlight absolutely can't be adapted 1 to 1, it will never work as a series if it tries to do the book exactly, the pacing won't work
48:16 "You would fall upward faster. But that's not how gravity works". Sorry, that's exactly how gravity works downwards. You fall with a speed FASTER (time squared).
you don't. Your mass doesn't affect your speed, it's just 9.8 m/s2
@@TheAgamidaexYou're right. I misunderstood the question. You fall exponentially faster as time passes (that's what I meant), but not even faster if you add weight. Galileo demonstrated that long time ago without feruchemy. :)
@@p-j-y-d heh, Galileo the Feruchemist would be a fun book
in the series of Lincoln the vampire hunter
I’d certainly pay towards a kick starter for an anime in the style of Chainsaw Man or Cowboy Bebop
Taln GOAC confimed.
Adoooonalsium
I mean in terms of men becoming gods on Roshar, Tarabangian did so like
Guy at 19:09 is doing Cosmere Arithmetic. He'd love Word2Vec (King - Male + Female = Queen), but that's not how it works. He's missing a step, as Brandon says. He's missing the emotional plot to structure the spiritual mumbojumbo.
Jasnah a dragon?
Edit: last question squashed this.
I can't believe he confirmed that Hoid Amaram is canon!
Now we just need to pester him about the existence of Stormbones
Time stamp?
@@bestintheband5114 4:20:69
@@ikemeitz5287have you ever said something funny?
Future me, I've put this in watch later so you watch it after reading the sunlit man
I'd rather have no on screen adaptation than have one that's been twisted and bastardized
Wait so hes not doing the ketek but hes still going with Wind and Truth? Ugh, Why?? Its such a weak title for a really important book. Just look at the other titles and then Wind and Truth... Why wouldnt he want a really good, strong title for this one? Im sorry, i gotta say it, it sucks!
You know, as someone who HAAAAAAATES "rafo" with a passion, getting a rafo card does not feel like a trophy. It feels like salt rubbed into an open wound!
I like Kaladin Stormblessed. Not you
Okay, I like you 😄
Idc what people say, but my god the fans are so awkward.
