  • After a bird stole my wax a couple of months ago, I have been putting off buying new skate wax. I had this old broken candle lying around and thought, why not make my own? After some googling (links below), I set out to make it happen.
I couldn't find instructions on the oil ratio to wax, so I winged it. It was raining today, so I'll test the wax soon and keep you posted. This is my first attempt, and I think I'll try some of the other versions next time if this doesn't work eg. adding butter or soap.
    WHAT YOU NEED
    - Candle wax
    - Vegetable oil (I used Olive oil)
    - Knife
    - Tin can
    - Saucepan with some water
    - Something to stir with
    - Silicone mold or similar

You can also add a piece of crayon if you want to add color.

Hey Shorty! Really been enjoying watching your channel and reminding myself of stuff after getting back into Bowl & half pipe skating after a hiatus of nearly twenty years. Couple of Questions. How tight Vs Loose do you prefer your skate trucks to be? and also how loose vs tight do you prefer your skate wheels to be?
    Like what’s your preference?

Hi! I have my trucks pretty tight and my wheels on my axles loose enough to spin well but not rattle side to side.

@@ShortysSkateSeries Sounds similar to my own setup. Have you ever done a short video on your preference for how loose/tight you have your own trucks and wheel’s?

      No I haven't but maybe I should 🤔

Did you end up testing the wax? Curious how it compares.

I did. I think I needed to add a little soap or butter to make it a little more "spreadable" but it worked well.
