    Thanks for the share. I am sorry on behalf of my species for the rude comments! Every kite is a bit different, but I have found that by using a bar with double the normal deposed trim range (I use an Ozone race bar) all kinds of kites, from single skins, race foil kites and certainly normal tube kites, I get a ton of extra ability to handle being overpowered.

      thanks for your kind comment on comments :-) ; I should admit this kite has not a good depower, or I would say it would need long depower bar stroke ; as you say , a longer stroke would have helped a lot (however be careful a 4/1 race trim is easier to actuate but does not necessarily means longer depower stroke ; on my (other) custom bar I put a longer stroke but keep a 2/1 classic trim system to avoid very long floating rope in the air like race trims

      @@regisboulard thx, the Ozone race bar moves the split about double the trim range on the regular bars. I found out when I used it with my 12m lei and suddenly had tons if depower to deal with being massively overpowered.

    From what I see I believe you are not that experienced. There are many ways to handle that situation Z I don’t define this as kitemare

      I did not find better word than kitemare but indeed I was not in death danger.
      ok, thank you teacher ; we are curious to get one or two tips in this case...
      ps: probalby my 730 hours practice on my 30 different foilkites is low compared to your own experience ... or you have judge too rapidly ... 🤔

    why would you put your kite into zenith when wind picks up?

    • @regisboulard
      @regisboulard  Год назад +2

      i never did it on prupose ... tried to keep the ,ite as low as possible but a foilkite tends to go upward in gusts .... so to keep it low you need to sheet-in a bit, which gives more pull ... so in gusts, it sometimes goes to the zenith unvoluntarily ...

    honest curiosity: why didn't you pull the safety release and let the wind drag you to shore to end the session? You could then change kite, or wait a few hours for the wind to settle...

      It’s a fool kite so it will fill up with water like a trainer kite😊

    Undesired speed? My max at this moment is around 50k/h, undesired would be 60k/h, ut its what u used to i guess

    I drag my back hand / arm in water great trick for slowing down and forcing kite forward to edge of window to manage speed.

      yes it is a very good tip ... I did it a bit in the end , when camera was off ; hand and also full ass sometimes :-)

    you are a rookie right? first thing is to depower the kite fully via trim. dont hold the bar at the ends.. it leads to unwanted steering inputs... better use a good softkite.. flysurfer is the way to go when using foil kites. gin kites are china trash tbh

      @regisboulard  Год назад +3

      Yes i am a 15 years experience rookie on both foilkites and tubekite. Flysurfer makes good kites but far from beeing the best in very light wind. You seem to miss some expérience and tests my Friend for such basic comments . By the way i own and ride 7 foilkites, i think i know them.

    "Oh there was a strong gust which pulls me out of the water. It's obvious a good idea to start with a downloop..."
    Really?

    • @regisboulard
      @regisboulard  6 месяцев назад

      As you can see , i am not overpowered during the loop. Wind was not that high at that moment. Downloop was a way to ebsure keeping kite stability in this turbulence area of the start abd get quickly out of this zone. With a high AR foilkite, launching a loop is not very oowerful if you over pull on the innerline like ivdid. And it orevents sudden hindenburg and risk when reopening. My view abd exoerience at least.

    I mean why not stop & go smaller?

    • @regisboulard

      I tried after the 3-4 first minutes only, but wind and lift where so high that i had difficulties to stay upwind and come back to my departure point ! I even lost my small shoes twice when pulled above water surface. When back (after kite safety release close from shore to avoid injuring people), i switched to a 5m + hydrofoil.

    It is awful to be overpowered. I know because I am permanently overpowered on my racing bicycle.

    Don’t
    “ cry wolf “
    Take a lesson for foil kites.
    Stop moving it around so much for one thing
    …….
    Or use inflatables maybe , they fly differently
