Dana, I've seen several of your builds now, and I've got to say, you are GOOD! 🍺🍺👍👍 I can't BELIEVE that some people are trashing on tiny details like the tailpipe..... These are Basement Warriors in their Mama's house, who couldn't do something that nice if they tried!! 😲 Keep on Tiny Truckin'!!! Murph
BTW, My old friend who is a big follower of your channel and got me in, Carmine is NOT doing well..... If you know ANYONE that would be willing to help him and his family... paypal.me/pacbeltrr ANYTHING will help them, foreign currency is automatically converted. I'm asking, begging if necessary, because he is a good Man, thrown into an awful situation that he didn't ask for - but it has left them hungry and in great trouble! He hasn't been on, because they couldn't even afford $9.95/month for internet, so it got shut off. They're facing Eviction also. So if you, or anybody can help, please!
Amazing work Dana! You made the interior kit looking a lot better with your details! as always I appreciate the support from You and Chris @ GCM! I like all the attention to details.. even has an exhaust pipe :) Cheers - Ryan
Great meeting Dana at Uwharrie last weekend. I took the dive into your shelf on Sunday when I stepped on a moving tiny truck, lol. Hope to meet your partner at a future event. Fun times!
I remade my windows out of lexan too. .030. And added the divider with styrene. I wish photo bucket wasn't so lame... because I had a really good thread on my build. Using many gcm parts.
love the build! i am currently building one of these bodies as well! just so ya know in 1995 and 1996 the cherokee didnt have actual wing windows just mounted glass.
Bout the front door windows, just say it’s the 97+ door as those did not have the little triangle I did the swap on my comanche for those doors and got ride of the triangle
i really respect you guys build the nices rigs im the same way i still just look at my trail finder 2 after 3 months haha its as far as i can take it just need to hide the wires better and wheel wells
So I have a 2001 XJ and the "window thing" on the side window is not there. I believe on the older xj it had "the thing" but not on the 2001. Also the 2000 proline body does not have them either. Cheers, love the build!
Nice rig I unfortunately bought a bumper set for my jeep body from Yeah racing never again probably the worst bumpers didn't fit proper loose fit but was able to get a good set that fit like those anyway thanks for sharing your video
Absolutely amazing job! I have a forrest green xj and I just orderd a scx10ii kit with plans to replicate my 1:1 your build is stunning and I really strive to make mine like this. P.s the exhaust is on the other side :) would like to hear you guys talk about the electronics used in the trucks too. Like myself I'm researching for my esc and motor combo. Trying to get an idea of what's competitive now days
Thanks for the tips! We looked at a bunch of pics for the exhaust and saw it on both sides.. so we went with this side. The electronics are a team raffee 55t brushed motor, hobbywing 1060 esc (or 1080), and the servo is a powerHD 20kg. All these parts cost less than $100 all in, so it's a great and reliable setup for low cost.
Fantastic attention to detail looks great. I own this model and color scheme in real life. Even have the firestick on the back much like your model! Love the authentic 8-slot grill. Don't forget that all pre-97 XJs have wing window supports (they don't have a full front window). Most excellent!
I'll guess most hardbody paint jobs don't actually get enough paint applied to flow properly and make a nice gloss. If you have enough paint on it, then you can get a nice finish from a rattle can in gloss. This is just a rattle can automotive paint (not walmart junk) from a proper car parts store.
That was really hard to do. I cut out my hood on the XJ, and it's super thick material. I'd recommend using a dremel or another sort of tool to take out some of the material under the hood first, so it's thinner at the line, and then you can score it out with a strong knife or thread cutting. It was real hard to do, but worth it.
How do you mount the body to the chassis? I am looking to put this on my SCX10 as this body is far more detailed than the proline body that I have now.
but this xj is from 96 or earlier model. you can tell dash that he had made. but by looking at the lights, rear hatch, and flares it looks like 97 or earlier. but the dash makes it a pre 97 xj. the exhaust is on the wrong side because fuel line are on that side
Nope, Axial is still ok.It is just one of the factories in China which were producing all of the plastic parts for Axial have gone under. As far as I know Axial is looking for other options with factories in china but another problem was that all of the moulds are still in the old factory. So it could be quite long wait before we will see Axial kits back on the shelfs .

Nah, we just like to nitpick lol, Cherokee trait. They're all nice builds though.

Really nice detailed rig. It don't matter if it sits on the self some before wheeling time, the joy is in the build.
That is one sweet build!!!
Another great, inspirational build! Pipe on wrong side is better than no pipe at all!
Great meeting Dana at Uwharrie last weekend. I took the dive into your shelf on Sunday when I stepped on a moving tiny truck, lol. Hope to meet your partner at a future event. Fun times!
x2 meeting Dana, great guy! And don't worry, John...none of us saw nuthin' ;)
i actually got my wheels to fit under the jeep completely i havent tried driving it like that yet though
I remade my windows out of lexan too. .030. And added the divider with styrene.
I wish photo bucket wasn't so lame... because I had a really good thread on my build.
Using many gcm parts.
Yes you did! Great thread and pics. Really sad story about that. I do hope somehow you can get them up again.
love the build! i am currently building one of these bodies as well! just so ya know in 1995 and 1996 the cherokee didnt have actual wing windows just mounted glass.
The truck is amazing! Great work. I looked into those hard bodies, no go for me. $$$
Bout the front door windows, just say it’s the 97+ door as those did not have the little triangle I did the swap on my comanche for those doors and got ride of the triangle

Great looking XJ Dana!

what a very nice XJ - like your reviews - and please more "how to ..." vids
Nice rig I unfortunately bought a bumper set for my jeep body from Yeah racing never again probably the worst bumpers didn't fit proper loose fit but was able to get a good set that fit like those anyway thanks for sharing your video
Awesome build, love watching your vids. You guys rock!
I have seen 2 door hard bodies for sale but obviously they have a smaller wheelbase so it's not quite as easy to mount on most frames
We have a Skeleton J2 frame dedicated to the 2dr JK. If that helps.
that's a real beautiful project.
Great Tinytruck Dana you guys rock!!!
Excellent build!
i love that how did you get the wheels to not stick out i would love mine to stay undernieth the body like that i have scx10 axles
Greatest XJ Build EVER !!!

Thank you for the reply and information. I have really learned so much from you in the last 2 weeks about tinyturcks. Keep up the great work!!
love your reviews. and how to vids. i love that interior, now i got the K10 Chevy pickup Ascender and i wanted to know if he makes interior for it.
Fantastic attention to detail looks great. I own this model and color scheme in real life. Even have the firestick on the back much like your model! Love the authentic 8-slot grill. Don't forget that all pre-97 XJs have wing window supports (they don't have a full front window). Most excellent!
how about every rig review vid starts or ends with short running vid (teaser video) of the rigs.. men i love to see those rig on action. cheers!
Great idea! Generally we do have some sort of footage of the thing ripping somewhere.. watch this on the next one!!
I would love to do this build 2022 🤔 hmm
Nice I have a 2000 jeep xj 1:1 I doing a Enduro xj soon 👌. Nice details enjoyed it.
Cool, thanks!
that thing is gorgeous!!!!
oh and the exhaust is on the wrong side
Evan Abendroth that can be changed easily
Beautiful XJ Sir :)
Love this one! Who make that body? Is it JS Scale?
Yes, they have this body kit.
Looks fantastic... good review buddys🥳😍
I got a 99 cherokee. has no wing window so your good there but exhaust is on wrong side. still looks awesome though
some do some dont
not sure if you noticed but the pipe is not on the correct side and seems small imho.. great vid
How do you get that good of a gloss look? I have a lot of paint experience but only with lexan
GCMRacing1 - Scale Truck RC in Canada awesome thanks for the tip also I am cutting the hood out from mine and was curious on how to cut the front out
That was really hard to do. I cut out my hood on the XJ, and it's super thick material. What links did you use? I'm looking at an injora Cherokee body
How do you mount the body to the chassis? I am looking to put this on my SCX10 as this body is far more detailed than the proline body that I have now.
if any dirty it ain't got scratches you ain't been having fun. now let's get outside and have some RC fun.
What the paint? Soo glossy black
Hey bro. May i know what type of tire are those?
PitBull PBX a/T in 1.9 size. CHeers!
What glue did you use for the windows?
97+ xjs didn't have the front window on the doors. Close enough. ;)
fr8cture its not a 97
I'm aware...
Could you please provide the tire size data, width and diameter? Thank you very much
was that JF Scale that made the badging, i googled JF Scale and got nothing.
Edit; nevermind i found the site it's JS Scale.
Can you still get this chassis?
Do you have a link for the interior
R3Designz on FaceBook
GCMRacing1 - Scale Truck RC in Canada - Seriously Legit interiors guys!! 👍 👍 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺 🍺
Definitely a bar set, for me to aspire to.
Murph
Hey did you get the interior from shapeways?
Not shapeways, but from r3Designz on facebook or jsscale.net
Very nice
сколько будет стоимость?
можно купить этот автомобиль?
i didnt know you were related to kenny arnoff. long lost twin brother?
Awesome
they dropped the wing window in 97
but this xj is from 96 or earlier model. you can tell dash that he had made. but by looking at the lights, rear hatch, and flares it looks like 97 or earlier.
but the dash makes it a pre 97 xj.
the exhaust is on the wrong side because fuel line are on that side
I think what he meant was that it should have the quarter glass there.
Dayam son
Have axial gone bust ! No stock no new models no parts ... does make you wonder thanks God new traxxas is coming out
Nope, Axial is still ok.It is just one of the factories in China which were producing all of the plastic parts for Axial have gone under. As far as I know Axial is looking for other options with factories in china but another problem was that all of the moulds are still in the old factory. So it could be quite long wait before we will see Axial kits back on the shelfs
