I grew up in New Zealand hearing about the cedar trees of Lebanon. This was because my father went to a ski school in Lebanon in about 1940. My father was a very good baritone singer and at the end of a long day of training, he was asked to sing to the trainees. He sang a song called “Trees”. He said that he wanted to sing this song because of the beautiful cedar trees that were all around them. Dad was very spiritual, and he deeply felt the atmosphere of this place. In my life, I thought about the cedar trees a lot and about my Dad skiing in that area. When Dad came back to New Zealand 🇳🇿 in 1945, he met my mother and later on I was born.
I just got back from visiting Lebanon. I was dying to see the Cedar forest, but sadly didn't have time on this trip, plus it was really cold up there, even in summer. They're in the North and very high elevation. Next time. I did see a lot of Phoenician ruins - they were beautiful.
I am so proud to be Lebanese and have brought back a piece of Lebanon back with me to my own country. My piece of Lebanon is that beautiful symbol-the Cedar. May God bless Lebanon and all the people that live there.
Cedar of Lebanon, so profound in the Bible.I read about them and am so it interested in researching about the Cedars and its biblical significance presently.
