pokvarenaploca Not everyone would appreciate that. Russian is a different language, from a different culture and sounds very different. Calling everything remotely Slavic as Russian just shows one's ignorance.
***** no, acctually most of us don't mind being compared to Russian and those are too very very simmilar languages. I know cause i speak both of them:*
Marija Grujicic They are not "very very" similar, Spanish and Italian are much more similar to each other. I know because I *don't* speak Russian and I can understand only bits of it, yet I can understand Italian from knowledge of Spanish and French. If they were as similar as you say, I would've understood at least over half of it. The one language actually very very similar to Serb-Croat is Macedonian. Also, there is nothing offensive about Russian language or Russia, what is offensive are presumptions based on ignorance.
Marija Grujicic Sto odmah vredjas kada se neko ne slaze sa tobom? To sto ti govoris Ruski je lepo, i sto je tebi slican i to je lepo. Ali vredjanje zbog toga sto nekome je to potpuno razlicit jezik? Koliko imas godina? 12? Potpuno se slazem sa Sonjom, mozda svaku petu rec uhvatim da razumem od Ruskog. Za mene je to potpuno stran jezik, a verujem da je i za mnoge. 100 ljudi 100 cudi i malo vise tolerancije.
Marija Grujicic I speak Russian and it's nothing like Serbian. You can understand some words but it's not even close. Grammar, words... Serbian has same words as Russian? Maybe some similar, very few of them with the same meaning even if similiar. And if she isn't good with languages, that doesn't mean she should be a waitress... Maybe she is good in math, and she shits on your language knowledge? Chill out. I wouldn't find it correct if he tried to speak it as Russian. So what? You wanna say that you are the only Serbian person who speaks Russian and is good with languages and that only your opinnion counts?

Tradition, harmony, construction зашто мислиш да су баш те речи препознали као шпанске? Видиш да су у енглеском сличне. Добро хармонија је из грчког. Англосаксонцима је сваки језик који има чисте вокале звучи на шпански јер њега имају прилике да слушају у непосредној близини.
Our language, especially letters and stuff, was modified from old Russian, so yeah, you wouldn't be wrong if you are imitating Serbian like Russian. :) It was modified a lot tho, the most things that got hit was grammar, some new letters were introduced and the rule that I think not even one language in the World has that's one letter on Serbian represents one short pronunciation, which means you don't pronounce letters in words so they sound like two letter parts but each letter is singularly sounding. Example of multi letter pronunciations in English: "A" is pronounced as "EY", or "B" letter sounds like: "Bee", well in our language there aren't any letters that sounds like any multi-letter words. They are like chopped off sort of speaking. Also grammar is very complex, one of the most complex grammars in the World, it's one of the hardest languages to learn along with Chinese for example. It's because we change our words accordingly to many stuff, in sentences... We have something that exists in German for example, which is "gender" of words, so if word is kinda "womanish" then we add some letter(s) to it, and if it's "man-ish" then some other letter(s), and if it belongs to "it" sort of speaking group, then some other letter(s) are added, that rule especially counts for verbs which then you can use without subject in sentence and it's understandable who is doing the thing that is explained by the sentence (it's not needed to say "he", "she" or "it" like in English or some other languages; it's enough to say like: "The car was washed" on Serbian, the verb "washed" can be modified in 3 ways so we know exactly if it was female, male or "it" person who washed it [if that's known], otherwise we say in general that "the car have been washed"). In German you have "die, der and das" for nouns. :) The other things about grammar is that there are a lot of rules and some exceptions... I'm glad that I've been born here, because this language makes us kind of unique and it's natural for us. :) Proud to be Serbian!
Like the video and the idea to ask randomly people so you can see from different perspectives how people understand differently the same thing! Thumbs up!
I guess they compared it to spanish because serbians speak very fast like people that speak spanish :) Slavic languages are splitted in east, south and west. South is like serbian, bulgarian etc. so they sound very similar and russian is east slavic. Many Russians said to me that they don´t understand a thing when they hear serbian people talking.
Which website did you guys use to see this? I know it's RUclips, but which website posted the link to this video? I'm getting unprecedented number of views and I don't think they came directly from RUclips.
Great topic :) And yes, people that speak Serbian don't mind when people say they sound Russian...any slavic language will sound similar =so all good :) Serbian language , I must add is also known as : Serbo- Croatian language, Croatian language and Bosnian language...the main difference is in dialect and , it is something like American English / Australian English / Irish English and British english.. good to know...for all of those who study Serbian , they will be understood in Bosnia and Croatia as well :))))
How can they say Spanish or Italian? I mean, have they not heard Italian/Spanish in their lives before?? I'm sorry, but I honestly can't believe someone can be so uneducated. I am Serbian, and there are a lot of languages out there that I am not familiar with, but I'd never ever confuse them with such well-known languages as those two are. I mean, people, come on. You don't have to speak a language in order to recognize it. I don't speak Chinese for example, but I'd always recognize it. Same goes for almost all European languages, Japanese and Korean. Inform yourself, people. It's high time you did that, really.
Cool video, and to answer guy's dilemma, naaahh, we wouldn't be offended if someone had mistakenly identified Serbian as Russian... Although these are different languages, and we do not quite understand each other, both languages are Slavic, have similar grammar, and share a lot of common words...
Lmao this is great!! It's funny how some actually do pronounce some words quite good :pCould you please make people listen to croatian, serbian and bosnian?? I know its basically the same language but they do sound quite different. That's why I want to hear foreigners comparisions lol. It would really be fun to see their aspects as some people from our countries still debate over the languages

Bjorn Langeskjegg rekoh ''in the country'' a ne ukupno od svih Srba, znam da nas ima i hvala bogu ima nas dosta, i vise van Srbije nego u Srbiji...Beograd ima 1.7 miliona stanovnika, zaokruzio sam to na 2 miliona, sta znaju stranci...ajoj oko kojih gluposti sitnica se ti cimas!
whats more standard serbian? in which region they talk that?
Why the f would we be offended if you compare us to Russia? 😂 We love Russian!! 😂😂
Anastasija Gnjatic we love you :D

I love how people listen very carefully and are willing to participate in this little game with languages.
Can you do Portuguese or Swedish, I think it would be very interesting, too.
Greetings from Serbia!
Thank you for this video! :) Greetings from Serbia
Interesting video and we like Russinas so we dont mind compering. ;)
pokvarenaploca Not everyone would appreciate that.
Not all the foreigners have such difficulties recognizing Serbian. I usually recognize it immediately. :)
By the Serbian calendar we live in 7526 y. So Serbian language is one of the first language in the world.
“Serbian Cyrillic is the most perfect script in the world”

Russian??? Polish???
Very close.

LenixTV yeah haha not even close
pa sta se cudis budalo svakom strancu srbski lici na ruski poljski ceski ista grupa jezika
@@stevanmilanovic756 brate, ovo je bilo pre 3 godine, nisi ni morao da odgovoris. Ali svejedno, ja se nisam cudio sto su oni mislili da je ruski ili poljski, nego sto su rekli da je nemacki
2:33 Aww, this guy is so nice. :) And we don't mind being compared to Russians. Greetings from Serbia! ❤
Nice video dude its good to know that people are actually doing some nice stuff like you just did made an video about Serbian language which is really nice from your side :) keep up a good work you get a huge thumbs up from me and from Serbia too :).
How can you even confuse Slavic and Romantic languages?
+Sussurus Serbian is packed with 'borrowed' words from Latin-based languages.
+Александар Сајков
+Denis И? Што се џема тиче, ''џем'' имаш и у енглеском.
Iskreno jako interesantan video. Nisam ocekivao da ce nas porediti sa Spanskim. Thank you for making this
no we are not mad when it's compared to Russian, they're our brothers :)
You have brothers among mongols?
Great video guys! :D I enjoyed and smiled! That's what's important! Nice people in the video.
I'm half Polish half Serbian LMAO
'veći prostor' that one was perfect! :-)
I love Serbian. Glad I know some of it. 😄
This guy with glasses sounds like a language expert. Respect! :)
:) Proud to be Serbian!
lov3masterns Srpski jezik dođe jedan od najljepših slavenskih jezika, ćirilica je jedna od najljepših pisama i biti Srbin je stvarno čast😇
u jebote ti si napisao cijeli esej u pm hahaha
Really? Old Russian? Serbian had a state before Russians...And we do not speak Russian, thats just ridiculous in every way.
DenjaRI hahah lud covek nisam sve ni procitao
nikog ne zanima lmao
No man, trust me, there is no reason why we would get offended that you compared Serbian to Russian, we actually really love Russians :)
The Recording is Louder than the People Answering.
Like the video and the idea to ask randomly people so you can see from different perspectives how people understand differently the same thing! Thumbs up!
Serbian language is MOST BEAUTIFUL AND MOST SEXIEST LANGUAGE ON PLANET!!! Big love from Brazil!
Hey man, I'm Serbian. And this is amazing! hahahah very funny, thanks for this video 😁
I am from Serbia and heyy to everybody!!!!!!!!!
Hope you understand: Zdravo svima, moje ime je Ana, pozdrav
I guess they compared it to spanish because serbians speak very fast like people that speak spanish :) Slavic languages are splitted in east, south and west. South is like serbian, bulgarian etc. so they sound very similar and russian is east slavic. Many Russians said to me that they don´t understand a thing when they hear serbian people talking.
Hvala.
Which website did you guys use to see this? I know it's RUclips, but which website posted the link to this video?
I'm getting unprecedented number of views and I don't think they came directly from RUclips.

In Russian, "kak serbskij jazyk zvučit inostrancam" - so similar!
Trebali su da puste dok neko psuje :D
bila bi fora do jaja hahah
Great topic :) And yes, people that speak Serbian don't mind when people say they sound Russian...any slavic language will sound similar =so all good :) Serbian language , I must add is also known as : Serbo- Croatian language, Croatian language and Bosnian language...the main difference is in dialect and , it is something like American English / Australian English / Irish English and British english.. good to know...for all of those who study Serbian , they will be understood in Bosnia and Croatia as well :))))
Ja ne znam kako neko može biti glup da se ponosi što mu jezik miješaju sa nekim drugim, umjesto da im je drago što ljudi prepoznaju NJIHOV jezik.
Ha I was always wondering about this! Thanks :)
nobody:
Americans when they hear any Slavic lanhauge: oMg iT iS rUsSiAn!
Spot on! :)))
Serbian language, along with Croatian and Bosnian, has a quite good advance compared to other languages. It is "Read as it was written".
You should do what Estonia sounds like to foreigners.
+aariproductions What would recommend as the sample. Could you send me some links?
Like Finnish and Hungarian.
SvedskiKuvar doesn't exactly sound like Hungarian but Finnish, yes.
For people who never heard Finnish, but often listen to Hungarian, it really sounds like Hungarian.
Similar melody like Hungarian...
this is awesome lol greetings from serbia guys!
Yeah, Spanish and Italian make 0 sence. They are as related to Serbian as English is to Albanian. Both are Indoeuropean languages, and that's all.
I really liked this video. Good job on the methodology and preparation.
I love how a lot of them says ,,Russian" 😂
Cool video, and to answer guy's dilemma, naaahh, we wouldn't be offended if someone had mistakenly identified Serbian as Russian... Although these are different languages, and we do not quite understand each other, both languages are Slavic, have similar grammar, and share a lot of common words...
They can said : Croatian too, because croats speaks Serbian. Or maybe Montenegro, same, or Bosnia speak Serbian too. Haha Kosovo je Srbija :)
Živela Srbija🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸❤❤❤
hearing this as an american serb who has very rusty serbian is literally so funny lmfao it half makes sense, sounds like gibberish and sounds familiar yet forgein
Учи српски лепотице
How could you possibly think serbian sounds like spanish? They sound nothing alike!
Good, clever video. Even though I love my language, I don't think it sounds too attractive to foreigners.
+Александар Сајков Како српски језик звучи странцима. I forgot - if you can, edit the Serbian part of the title to Cyrillic alphabet. Serbian language is written in Cyrillic, and Croatian in Latin. That is one clear distinction between the two.
hello shin fu,
i would like to know how they think about turkish in canada, and if they are able to see differences between turkish and azerbaijaani
(both are very closed to each other, and i have to say that turkish and azerbaijani arr not a arabic languages they both are tutkic languages with their origins in the huns😉😉, so they are related to languages like syberian, kazakhi, kyrgyzi, turmeni, usbekish, tatarish, krymtatarish and other turcik languages, BUT İT İS NOT A ARABİC LANGUAGE)
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Watashi wa Dәsu lol, I won't be surprised if people think Turkish is an Arabic language.
Thank you for the suggestion, I will definitely do a video like that. Which of the Turkic languages do you speak?
Can I come to you for questions when I plan the video?
i speak turkish and azerbaijani
and yes you can come for questions
You should make a part two!
+Kriss K You answered your question yourself. "I am not familiar with"
Being uninformed isn't the same as uneducated. And most of the times people can hear serbian is in some movies where we are portraited as "the bad guys" with thick RRRRRRusian accent.
So give them a break :)
Pozz :D
Don't worry, my people are very kind. And they would not be angry or offended. That you compared the Serbian language to I don't know Turkish, or Latin ... And especially not Russian. The Russians are our brothers, but literally by blood. And we even spoke the same language until the 13th, 14th centuries. Certainly a big thank you, for this interesting video. God bless you all.
Serbo-Croatian is a beautiful language.
True
I’ve studied Russian and Polish for several years, but for some reasons I find Serbo-Croatian my favourite Slavic language.
Heritage Inmoshun I got this from one of serbian most popular news websites - b92.net. Here's the article link bulevar.b92.net/srpska-posla.php?yyyy=2015&mm=05&dd=27&nav_id=996713
Nice video, thou. Thanks for popularizing our language!
It's good to hear my Serbian language.
Dobro je čuti moj Srpski jezik.
Србија до Токија!
I am from SERBIA !!! ❤❤❤ POZDRAV ZA SVE KOJI RAZUMEJU SRPSKI 😄😄😄
0:51 the boy seas "it is croatian!" and his answer is right! there is no way to tell the difference between serbian and croatian and bosnian becouse they are the same thing ! WTF
When my friend and I spoke Serbian in Budapest, people told us we sounded like we spoke German. One guy told us we sound like it was Italian. They are all right. Germanlike is that "š"(sch), we have a lot of that, and Italianlike is that "ti", we have a lot of that as well. 🙂
I laughed so hard when i saw that first Asian guy :D
great...loved it :)
at 1:51 on serbian it means honest, but she said im fucked xD iskarana
