So he was orphaned at age 13 and brought up by his brother and sister. Joost has written Europapa as a letter to his father. His father told him the world has no borders. Borders are made up by humans and so you can create your own world, and that’s what Joost is doing every day from that day on. After the death of his parents, he started searching for the meaning of life and relief of his pain by traveling, but never actually found it there. He gave people money (psychologists) to help him, but that did not work. Until he realized that he still had time and options to realize his dreams. After all, the world has no borders right?
