As a former AOE 2 noob who then converted to a warcraft 2 and 3 noob who then converted to an Aoe 2 DE noob, I highly look foreword to more collabs like this!

As a former WC3 player and Grubby fan, I can not help but love this content. Definitely need to make a reverse video (teach aoe2 to Grubby). With the AOE2 community now being much more active than WC3, my dream would be for Grubby to join AOE2 in the future.

I’m not even sure which game I’ve played more, but I have about 1.5k hrs in AoE DE after playing the original. I screwed up my first semester of college playing an insane amount of WC3. This is indeed an awesome mash-up that I want to see more of. I just need to figure out the best way to play WC3 since “reforged” is basically a worse version of the original. Unreal as that is.
Oh man i spent so much time playing wc3 and aoe2 in my childhood. And both games had amazing campaigns. Viper you would love wc3 campaign and lore as a LOTR fan i am sure. It has a great storyline and also a fun way to learn the game

AoE 2 was my first RTS that I loved, and then WC3 was my second. This is so cool that you're learning to play WC3! Whenever AoE 2 fans complain that AoE 4 not having projectile dodging means there's no micro, I think to myself, "wow, someone hasn't played WC3, lol."
Especially since projectiles in AoE 3 also aren't dodgable and the game still has a lot of micro especially due to its faster pace 11

Now I wonder where AoE2 would be if instead of making the population cap a setting with default 75 and modern standard 200, the devs had made an upkeep mechanic where staying at/below 75 is more efficient than booming to 200

I really REALLY enjoyed this video... I was hoping there would be more of this. I want to see him play EVERY RACE and beat 1 Insane computer as every race. And possibly win some ladder games! I would watch every second of the series!

As someone who loved your Aoe2 Campaigns, it would be amazing if you made a Warcraft 3 campaigns because that's a huge strength Warcraft 3 has over Aoe2.

I never understood the what upkeep was when I played WarCraft 3 as a kid. I just played it the same way I played WarCraft 2/StarCraft/Age of Empires 2.

Is it just me? I feel like the AI difficulty drops quite a bit in Reforged. It's too passive for a normal AI.

Well if anybody ever wondered if AoE4 provided something good for the community, this is THE ANSWER. Not that I hated aoe4, but seen these two together... makes me happy in a way aoe4 never could. Keep it up guys.
Funfact: they did it again last night :) Someone asked Grubby in chat if he could do a fixed AoE 2 day and it seems like he's interested in doing one especially since he understands the game now more due to his AoE 4 experience and Viper coaching :D

Usual lurker here. I'd love for you to go back and play an older RTS for an episode a week/every 2 weeks for a month or more(depends how much you like it) and just explore the genre and what u like/don't like for each one.

It's more that moba is WC3-like.
Try to play the campaigns.
It is so odd to see you know nothing about wc3. And not blocking paths and microing because that is a key thing in warcraft.
Then again, information flood and micro is the last thing you need to practice :D
The one thing I hate the most about warcraft 3 is actually keybinding in the game - I never understood how to do it, its so janky, even in reforged version. Else a good RTS, but I mostly play custom maps rather than the normal game. Also orcs are imo the easiest to play.
Humans are easiest, you can reliably spam your first ranged units to win games until certain skill level. And if that won't work you can spam steam tanks which is easy to execute but surprisingly hard to counter.
I was analyzing easiest starts for WC3 and Human just looks best, with orcs you really need to be good with creeping and overall their compositions need slightly more micro to preform well.
@@AAAAAA-jj4mr Hm guess that makes sense yes. I still cant fathom how to keybind in the game through. They really need a menu where you just go in and choose like AOE2.

Compared to AoE series, graphics are not clear in this game. Can't even see any unit properly.

As someone who has played WC3 but not AoE, I find AoE graphics harder to decipher. I think it's just whichever one you are used to will be easier
