Agreed with this. Everyone calling him weird in the comments… I don’t think any of us can judge how he acts because she literally attempted to kill him and killed his wife… I can’t really expect anyone to act normal after that.
@GeneralCouncilCommunication She has a good chance of appealing her sentence because life without parole for juveniles has been deemed unconstitutional by the supreme court.
@sybstaf3496 my life is AMAZING!! I've NEVER committed a crime and neither have my children!!! Question YOUR own miserable life if you think this MONSTER shouldn't be in prison for killing her mother and attempting to kill the step-dad!!! If she'd killed your loved one, would you want her out living next door to you?! I surely wouldn't...
I thought that but I suppose as her step dad he loved her, I suppose you can’t just turn that off regardless of what they’ve done. He’s lost his family and will probably never get his head round why ? Until you’re in someone’s shoes you just don’t know how you’ll react
I agree. Carly thought she was going to be set free. She was more upset at the guilty verdict than anything, imo. Is she a cold blooded killer? She seemed very cold and untouched the day she shot her mother 3 times in the face/neck. Her mother faintly cried "help me" twice, 5:32:30 while Carly sat in kitchen texting step dad, and Carly "sang" "NooOoo". This girl has issues. Having a gun readliy accessable in your home with children is dangerous. I am sure the parents never could have imagined this outcome with their child! But this happens all too often. Who is at fault? Did Carly knowingly go and get the gun, knowingly ambush her mother with 3 shots to the face? Did Carly knowingly text her step dad pretending to be mom? Did Carly knowingly wait for step dad to come home so she could shoot him as well? Yes, yes Carly knew what she was going to do and what she did. She needs to go to prison for life.
How can the stepfather sit there and say your going to be alright if that was my stepdaughter I wouldn't even be looking at her after killing her mother and his wife,Wt
Yeah in such a numb, out of body "state of mind" She still knew to hide that weapon behind her back at all times. 🙄 Her attorneys really should have persuaded her to take that plea deal
Yes, he's so sick because he saw what Carly did to her mother, His wife get over it, this only happened 6 months ago! he's suffering from PTSD give it a rest Stepdad had nothing to do with Carly being a cold-blooded killer!
I thunk he knowshow much that mother loved her and would never give up on her no matter what and wouldn't want anyone else to give up on her and leave her alone even tho she killed her. I think its an obligation and he believes his wife would want him to be supportive
It's embarrassing that you're praising your state for sentencing a juvenile to life without parole. She has a history of mental illness not to mention she is a literal child and does not have a fully formed frontal lobe. Prison is meant to reform and instead we use it as a punishment tool with no hope of leaving. This sentencing for juveniles has been ruled as cruel and unusual punishment in a majority of states for a reason.
@hayleygreen2121 I don't live in Mississippi but what I do know is that what she did was heinous and cruel is it not? Therefore in my opinion life in prison is exactly what she deserves. She terminated the life of the very person that gave her life. And not satisfied with that she attempted to take the life of another human being. I don't care if she was 11 life in prison is where murders belong. Unless they are actually mentally ill and were unaware of what they were doing then they should be institutionalized for life as well. Letting killers be free on parole is only teaching people that they can get away with murder. This kid chose fire fire is evil and may imply hell or devil. She chose that. And now she has to live with the consequences of her evil deeds.

The way the stepfather looks at her, the way he mouths “it’s okay” and “I love you”. It is disturbing on s many levels. Also how she always looks to him…something is off.
The female prosecutor is my heroine, she didn't let herself being influenced by the killer face and age... This killer teen deserves life in prison without parole...
She was literally on camera. Called friends to come look. Tried killing the step dad. She was completely calm throughout. Did she not know there was a camera in the house? While in court smiling w the stepdad, zero tears until she was sentenced. Just so blatant about it all and somehow she said no to 40 yrs? Who helped her decide that?! They said she was smart. Apparently not.
@NoWireHangerz she did know. After murd£ring her mother, and before trying to murd£r her stepfather, she hid the kitchen camera in the refrigerator (thus the tampering with evidence charge). She knew exactly what she was doing.
Absolutely zero crying and even smiling after coming back for sentencing smh. I'm surprised they didn't blow kisses at each other. Something seriously wrong going on there. Evil kid.
That defense attorney was hella annoying! When you know that you have to spend an hour plus to talk in circles, you know it’s over for you. The judge said two minutes like ten times and she still went on! 😂
It's interesting seeing someone her age do what she did and get the time she got when we see almost every day full grown adult public servents committing the same thing and getting zero accountability, parole, or slaps on the wrist... when they are suppose to be held to a higher standard, especially since they are trained and trusted to do their job.
Anybody else find is so bizarre the way the stepfather and Carly sort of just look and smile at one another? And the way she's just smiling up there I don't know. It just feels so off and creepy to me
Kinda suspicious how she aimed and shot her mother to kill her, but shot him once and non fatally. The strange behaviors and his looks and mouthing things to her...Reminds me of another case where an adopted daughter murdered her mother for the father because she was a minor and he made her believe she'd get away with it.
I don’t believe the stepdad was involved, although I will agree he did seem a little off - *but* I am offering him grace, as he has very recently just lost his wife in the most horrific way and his stepdaughter was her murderer, who then tried to murder him as well. I believe him innocent, but still in the depths of grief, shock and very traumatized by it all and perhaps believes his wife would want him to support and offer forgiveness. Of course I’m just guessing, but I do believe Ms Gregg’s actions were by her hand alone. Rest peacefully Ashely. My condolence and my empathy for all who were touched by this horrible tragedy. Btw, I am a retired Gramma and would have not been smiling coming in to hear my sentence and I don’t have nearly the years left to put into a life sentence that Ms Gregg has. The mere thought of prison, would make me peeing-my-pants petrified. At the podium, while the Judge read her sentence, she nodded and shrugged it off like he had said, “No ice cream for you after dinner!!”
"Stockholm syndrome" was the words that came to mind when seeing the stepdad supporting Carly. He knew her as being a good kid so it was very hard for him to believe what she did or even that she intended to really kill him to. He lost his wife, he loved his wife and Carly was all he had left to hold on to, as she was a part of his wife. Sound strange but it does happen.
she didnt seem to upset by the death of her mother or trying to kill her step father. only when she is found the verdict. that to me says cold homicidal killer.
Yes it’s bizarre. The whole family is strange. I guess it was easier to just charge the murderer than to prove an inappropriate relationship and or a collaboration. More clean to just lock up the bigger threat. I bet she will claim he put her up to it.
I think it's weird how everyone is imagining their child killing their wife, and thinking "yeah, this is how I'd respond instead". I'm autistic, but I bow and present to you my crown because that's simply got me beat.
Well, he is an adult, who, as an anesthesiologist, also has access to drugs that make people highly suggestable and dissociative. With those love looks, there's a chance there's something else going on between them. If true, given all that , I'd call it part of grooming.
For anyone who's confused, she got two whole of life sentences (no possibility of parole) plus 10 years with all sentences to run concurrently, (which is a moot point anyway). Edit: To add further clarity, minors can still be sentenced to life without parole in the US. The 2012 ruling made it that minors could not be sentenced to mandatory life without parole. This was not a mandatory sentence. It was determined by a jury.
I was going to ask what are ‘life sentences’ in this state? He didn’t say without parole. I thought they just made a new law that you couldn’t sentence minors to no parole?
The biggest thing I hate is when the accused says they can't remember or blacked out. From the Jodi Arias case to this case. We all know they remember every single thing that happened, so using the I cant remember or that they blacked out just proves to me they knew exactly what they were doing and remember every single moment of their actions!
@@namastea It was beyond odd. I think she either misunderstood and thinks she got life WITH parole, or between the guilty verdict and the sentencing verdict, she has put her hopes on an appeal for a new trial and thinks she’ll still get away with it because of her age… which will be DENIED!
She didn't want to follow house rules.i remember being told of hundreds of times by my mum as a teenager.boundaries need to be followed.or if you don't this is the worst case scenario.
She is not insane, she is evil. Can we highlight this judge and the prosecution? They did an amazing job. Can we also bring to light, this step dad??! He is just odd! This girl murdered his wife and tried to kill him!? Why is he so supportive and cutesy with this little girl? It’s odd! She got what she deserved, she’s evil and a murderer!

I didn't have a mother daughter relationship with my mom, never in my wildest dreams would I think to harm my parents or siblings.
@justmeinhere5905 me either! My mom was actually very mean to me. She would call me names, and mentally abuse me all the time, she never showed love towards me, she told me if abortions were legal when she was pregnant with me I wouldn't be here, she would constantly tell me I wouldn't amount to anything and if I wanted anything in life I better marry a man for money, not love. I went through that and more and I NEVER thought of killing my mom...not even hurting her, at all! I have not one ounce of sadness for Carly!

Step dad!!
He's clueless..The mother is the one who disciplined her daughter really knew her daughter..
I agree. Carly thought she was going to be set free. She was more upset at the guilty verdict than anything, imo. Is she a cold blooded killer? She seemed very cold and untouched the day she shot her mother 3 times in the face/neck. Her mother faintly cried "help me" twice, 5:32:30 while Carly sat in kitchen texting step dad, and Carly "sang"
"NooOoo".
If it wasn’t the gun it would have been a knife, she knew what she was doing and would have found a way - she is evil and the jury got it right!!
How can the stepfather sit there and say your going to be alright if that was my stepdaughter I wouldn't even be looking at her after killing her mother and his wife,Wt

They don’t waste no time man they cut right to the chase and do sentencing We Mississippi a state you want to mess with
Also g'day mate from coggee beach ⛱️ Fremantle western Australia 🦘

The female prosecutor is my heroine, she didn't let herself being influenced by the killer face and age... This killer teen deserves life in prison without parole...
Clearly, the girl has issues.. but there was no way the jury was going to allow her any chance at release in the future. Good on them!
Was the stepfather abusive?
I’m sure the parents said no. As a mom, you wouldn’t want to wish that on your baby

That defense attorney was hella annoying! When you know that you have to spend an hour plus to talk in circles, you know it’s over for you. The judge said two minutes like ten times and she still went on! 😂
Bet she wishes she took the plea deal now
The arrogance of a self-claimed genius.
She’s probably wishing even harder she didn’t even do it.
It's interesting seeing someone her age do what she did and get the time she got when we see almost every day full grown adult public servents committing the same thing and getting zero accountability, parole, or slaps on the wrist... when they are suppose to be held to a higher standard, especially since they are trained and trusted to do their job.
I think the jury got it right unfortunately so sad for everyone involved.
Stepdad is as creepy as can be. The way he looks at her. It's just weird.
And the way when she looked over at him he mouthed "it's ok"
Yes it’s bizarre. The whole family is strange. I guess it was easier to just charge the murderer than to prove an inappropriate relationship and or a collaboration. More clean to just lock up the bigger threat. I bet she will claim he put her up to it.
I think it's weird how everyone is imagining their child killing their wife, and thinking "yeah, this is how I'd respond instead". I'm autistic, but I bow and present to you my crown because that's simply got me beat.

Yes. The 10 years was for count 3.
Thanks! I was wondering what the actual sentence was since it wasn't stipulated.
Life is 60 years in Mississippi. Concurrent means they are served at the same time. So theoretically she could get out at 75. Did they say no parole?
