Yep all the commenters say, "Bro! My monitor is way better and I paid half as much!". And you're like, um, 110 ppi isn't in the same galaxy as this monitor.
Not OLED, not mini-LED backlit, no HDR, not even Liquid Retina.. So MacBook and iPad literally have better displays than this I suppose, you sure it’s worth it in 2024?? Lol
Nice video. I bought one, plugged in the one cable to my MBP M1 14 and was up and running. It blew me away how seamless the experience was and is. No more CalDigit hub, Dell display, speakers and junk on my desk. This thing transcends just functionality. In the end, I rationalized the cost, because I appreciate the image and the beautiful Apple design.
When the Studio Display came out i was in love. However, there was no way in hell i was going to spend that much money for a monitor. I thought i could find something almost as good for cheaper. I researched and researched other brands, such as the LG and Dell monitors Noah mentions here. But I couldn’t pull the trigger, i think i knew in my heart of hearts i would not be happy with anything but the Studio Display. Finally last month i looked on Apple Refurbished site and saw the Studio Display there for $300 cheaper then the regular price. So i treated myself. It’s gorgeous. I checked it over and could not find any flaws with it being refurbished. Still really expensive, but i feel better i didn’t pay full price for it and got the monitor i will use for the next 10 years hopefully.

I'm glad to see you are having success on YT. Personally, I'd get the monitor just because it feels like a long term purchase. I can see this lasting a decade for you and I'm sure it would likely be a 10-15 year monitor for me. Making RUclips videos is a grind. You're definitely succeeding!
There are certain intrinsic values that are hard to measure. All cars have four wheels and an engine. All cars will get you from point A to point B. Why would someone buy a BMW over a Ford? It all comes down to the user experience and the tiny details, which can be of value for certain buyers. Why spend twice as much for a BMW as you would for a Ford? There are those who cannot appreciate or tell the difference between driving a BMW vs a Ford. For those individuals, buying a Ford makes perfect sense. Ford makes great cars, there is nothing wrong with that choice. For those who cannot appreciate or see the value of an Apple Studio Display, they should buy something else. There are tons of options. I am a designer. My job is to focus on the “little details.” Having a monitor that gives me sharp text, clean lines, and accurate color means everything. Plus, it’s how I earn my living. In the long run, the Apple Studio Display is a great value to those who need that level of detail and accuracy.
I finally bit the bullet and bought the studio display today. My wife has the iMac Pro with that gorgeous 5K screen and I just didn't want anything less.
How’s it like? Call me wack but I want it for the all in one like package primarily speakers and 1st party support. Joined Apple eco system 2 years ago and haven’t looked back. Heard the Cinema Display was nice but this is what’s new on the market.
Well, FWIW, I just replaced a Dell U2723U with the Studio Display because after my laptop barely bumped it while setting it on its cradle, it completely destroyed the Dell! I seriously did not even think to wonder if I'd bumped the monitor too hard. it was nothing. But Dell said it was toast and "would I like to be connected to sales?",,,,,Uh, no. Lesson learned the hard way, buy once, cry once.
I went through the same monitor journey..almost. Stopped just short of the 5K2K LG after a few 4ks that never scaled as well as the iMac. The LG 5K Ultrafine was close but it was a wobbly pita. Moved to the 24” iMac as I too was drawn to the display. Just a bit too small. I’ll be getting the studio display after I sell a few things. I get the appeal.
I went from 2 LG 5k Ultrafines to 2 Apple Studio Displays with the standard tilt stands. I’m looking to get a third with the height adjustable stand. They’re expensive, but peerless, and will last me a decade. Enjoy them, they may be expensive but in the end the satisfaction you get from using them is worth it. Either you buy a Studio display once, or buy multiple subpar monitors only to eventually buy a ASD 😂
Beautiful vlog bro. I had a similar experience to this - at first I thought that it was over priced, asking HDR etc etc UNTIL I saw this beauty last week in the Apple Store and INSTANTLY I knew that this was a quality product in every sense. The built quality is just amazing and the screen - WOW! Everything about this monitor was elegant, made with thought, designed with soul. It oozes quality and design thought and to me, that's worth it - you can't put a price on that! Congrats bro _ hope that it brings pleasure, joy and creative thinking to you for many, many years! Paul
Someone needs to make a video about what to do with your old monitor…how’s to sell it etc. I’d like to upgrade but not sure how to unload my current monitor
Just came across your channel, late to the party. I'm in England and just bought the same Studio Display after wrestling with the decision to buy this expensive piece of kit. Your review was spot on. I could relate to your $$ pain. The one factor I love about the ASD, coming from the curved Samsung display is the relief I feel, no longer dealing with the wait while the Samsung seaeched for what input to use. This Apple Studio Display just has Thunderbolt, not other inputs. No power button. It's just easier to use, no deciding what colour settings, etc. The display looks just like my laptop display. I have the 16" Macbook Pro M3-Pro. Pretty great machine with a great display. Now the studio display looks the same great quality. Hope you're still grooving with this display. I will for awhile, I'm sure. Cheers from rainy England.
I know this is controversial but... 4:3 is actually a sick ratio for a lot of web browsing. I mean just look at the empty space when googling on an ultra-wide, crazy.
I’ve been contemplating buying this exact monitor with the height adjustable stand. I’ve wanted an apple display for as long as I can remember. I’ve got a 4k display on my desk now but the scaling isn’t really great. I need a native 5k display.
Can you please answer the oft-asked question of what kind of light do you have attached to the back of the display? I want a bias light, but don't want to stick a long string of tape light to it. What you have seems perfect. Please tell us the name or offer a link!
How many people need to ask this question before he'll answer ya think!?! ;) I seriously cannot even find something similar to this, no matter how many keywords I use. Ugh.
“Your put yourself through this whole ordeal, to have an apple studio display?” Lmao great video as always. Video request, please cover cellular ipads!!!
I'm the opposite when it comes to monitor brightness, with every monitor I've had, first thing that gets done is half the brightness in the settings. QD OLED is what I'm waiting for to get my next monitor. Dell already released one but it's not quite perfect for my liking.
In grad school I wanted two of the 23" (or even 30"!) aluminum cinema displays SO badly - but I couldn't afford it and never got the chance to own them. now that I can afford them, I have two of these studio displays. consider it an item off my bucket list to have dual Apple displays.
Do you think a 2nd get is due any time soon? It's been 1.5 years since the 1st gen release. Perhaps October (the usual iPad keynote) might bring some changes?
I ordered the mac studio and was hunting, hunting for a display. Round and round, ordering and canceling other brands and finally will do the studio. Lots of reasons, good device good specs, looks right, etc. It does have it's downsides for the cost though. The reason I got it besides that it will get the job done? I've had several Apple products over the past 46 yrs. Rarely does one get mothballed because it stops working. It's more that they go out to pasture, sometimes up to 12 years later. They are just so well made. My 2011 ssd 27" imac is still running and running adequately. I figure the studio mac and display is at this point super overkill for my needs. If it keeps going like the other units did then It will be with me a very, very long time. And increasingly the new, and newer units I've had are more viable for a longer time. thnx for the video.
I love your videos! They are so clean and crisp. Curious though, did you plan on moving this monitor in the different locations around your apartment lol cuz for a moment I thought you had 2 desks lol But I do like the points you gave for this monitor. Would you recommend this as a first time all Apple everything monitor?
Is that sound coming ONLY from your lav, or do you wear one to get a backup audio in case of? If it's lav only, I'd most definitely want the reference of that one. 🤯
just got one to me, and dude... worth any penny! great monitor, beautiful... it has a greater sound & fits my setup beautifully... as you've said, just deserved a better webcam.
Not OLED, not mini-LED backlit, no HDR, not even Liquid Retina.. So MacBook and iPad literally have better displays than this I suppose, you sure it’s worth it in 2024?? Lol
My guy, it’s not a problem restricted to you. I have a 5K iMac and I plan on upgrading to Apple Silicon. Anything less than that display quality is pressure. I will be buying the studio display and use it with my M2 iPad Pro and then purchase the M2 Max studio. I want to get the VESA one and use an ergotron polished aluminum monitor arm. I like your candidness and your vybz. You got yourself a new subscriber.
So I just purchased the Studio Display along with the Mac Studio. Full transparency, I purchased the Studio Display thinking “I will try it, however $1500 for a monitor is insane”. That is until you get it home and setup. Of course I every once and a while, think I really should return it. However there really is a guilty pleasure to owning this monitor. It just adds something unexplainable to any Apple home office setup. Love it
Thanks for this video! I'm currently still on two 2010/2011 Apple Cinema/Thunderbolt displays with a M1 Mac Studio on one and 2019 MBP on the other. I've been researching BenQ, Asus ProArt, LG, Dell, etc. I edit and color grade commercials for work, so I want a good factory color graded monitors. Apple is really expensive, but I'm questioning if I will like other monitors with less brightness, anti-glare matte display (I like Apple's gloss display), and less PPI. Also, I like how Mac monitors just work...No fuss, no problems, they just work! And the apple studio display does look amazing for color quality and clarity. Plus I'm use to 2560x1440 res, so 5K is exactly double the res instead of 4K having different amount of display space. The downfall to the Apple Studio Display is it's 27" and I would like to move up to 32" though. So I appreciate the video because over my career I've been through other monitors as well - Samsung, Viewsonic, etc. I understand that I may be the same as you if I buy something other than the Apple Studio Display where it's just not the same. So even though I haven't made an official decision yet, I am leaning towards an Apple Studio Display because they just work, have perfect color, and they last a long time. ....the price is what's holding me back though.
I think what’s hilarious in my monitor journey, is that there is literally nothing that compares to the studio display. Even if I compromise and by a 4K display, it will be less bright, not calibrated for consistent color, or the sound will be garbage. Cheap monitors ($200-$400) have brightness averaging 300 nits. Even the Apple Thunderbolt Display has more brightness at 375 nits. Monitors close to or at 500 nits are costing about $1,000 and they compensate for lower PPI with higher refresh rates. Maybe that’s good for gaming, but I’d much rather have proper color calibration and magazine print level resolution. Now if you try to get a bigger display, a 32” with the same PPI and color accuracy, the only option is the XDR Display for $6K. Other brands selling 32” displays still have resolution at 4K, which makes resolution worse the bigger the display. It’s damn exhausting. I’m resolved to knowing I have to get the Studio display. Lord it’s gonna hurt my wallet. 😖
As long as you’re happy with it, that’s what matters at the end of the day. I would’ve liked the price to be slightly cheaper for the specs but it’s Apple. You’re paying for their design. I have a cheaper LG monitor combined with a Mac mini which works for me at least until I can afford something better.
I'm still using the 27" Apple Studio Display from 2011. I love it so much I'm looking to buy 2 more for a triple monitor setup. It's a 2560x1440 res with thick colors. I just can't justify the prices of today's cinema displays they offer. Looks beautiful man but I'll buy that same one in a few years for next to nothing.
I literally bought a 2014 5k iMac and used it for years. Then went to LG Ultrafine 5k which was okay. Then to m1 iMac and now I bought a studio display. My mic doesn’t work on the studio display but it’s such a similar story
Although I have never owned a mac. In my opinion it is a huge problem that so many laptops and monitors aren’t bright enough. I have an iPhone 12 pro max with 800 nits of brightness (1200 with HDR). Once you have a display that bright nothing else compares. I have an Acer laptop with 300 nits and although I love my specs and it works for me the brightness is such a huge problem for me along with the pixel density being low. It just doesn’t compare even to my 500 nit iPad Mini 6. Viewing the current MacBook Pro line with a similar brightness to my iPhone is so nice and hard to unsee lmao.
This must be more common than I thought but I also had a 5k imac I had to sell and miss it every day. Might have to pull the trigger on the studio display at some point
OMG IT LOOKS SICK!!!! I hadn't paid any attention to it until this video! Not bad! The stand is really nice. It's a good buy you don't even need to justify it 😂 it's great! 💪🏽 Picture looks great. Camera and lighting is 👌🏽 Take care buddy, and thanks for the great reviews!
15:52 "The bezels were too thin on my last monitor, I like how this one feels more substantial" omg bro. I mean everyone's a critic, but this is what gives apple lovers a bad wrap: hyping up thicc bezels.
I’ll probably get one unless Apple plans to release an update soon. So many RUclipsrs talk about upgrading laptops and desktop computers every two or three years. I max out the configuration and usually have my machines for at least eight years 🤷♂️
I really enjoyed hearing about your experience with panels and macs. My entire office was laid off, and as a result, I got to keep an LG 5k Ultrafine. I kept telling myself this was fine, I didn't need the studio display, but in the end, I ended up getting one. The LG Ultrafine just looks so cheap, even though the screen itself is very nice.
Thanks for sharing your monitor experiences. I am unsure that super high NITS is something I would need other than if I was using a monitor outside. I am more into being sure the screen's colour spaces are large and the screen can be properly adjusted (soft or hard profile).
Everyone, me included, says that he dont need more nit. But once you have it, than you look at your previous monitor (the one you considered you dont need more brightness) as dark.
the ASD made me realise it's not so much the size of the bezel that bothers me, but how it looks. i don't like bezels that are cheap plastic (even the thin modern ones that have the plastic enclosure wrapped on the sides). am completely ok with the thicker bezels of the ASD, because it's flushed, behind a layer of precisely engineered glass and sits in an enclosure that doesn't creak or feel cheap. i don't actually mind the chin on the older models either, because it gives me something to grab when i tit the monitor.
Hey Noah! Thank you so much for this video! After watching mostly negative reviews and thinking almost everything you explained, you got the kinda smart answer no answer that i was looking for, so thanks I found it clever. Also found very usefull the hight adapting mechanism which nobody really reviews. I have one more Question for you, do you have any real life experience with the nanotexturized glass? Any comments on that? Thanks!
I came to the same conclusion. I'm a SE and stare at this display for my whole work day and beyond. My last job, I had a 5K iMac and that display spoiled me. I moved on from that job, but not that display. Fast forward, now using a 16" M1 Pro, needed a new display. Picked up an LG 27UL850-W, superb display for the price but no where near that 5K panel I was used to. Panel uniformity is bad, pixel scaling was bad and viewing angles weren't good even head on to the monitor. Fast forward another couple of years using the LG display and clocking up around 8000 hours on it, I started begrudgingly (as it is too expensive) looking at the Studio Display. The height adjust stand should be default and it should be £999. Anyway, I picked one up and I don't regret it at all. Display is leagues ahead, tack sharp, bright (+auto, really helps with eye strain, makes the LG look like its off) and perfect uniform colours and viewing angles at 90 degrees. Superb display. Speakers are fantastic and far better than I thought they'd be, perfect for daily use and background music. Webcam is dire tho, just use the 16"'s one as it punches far above it. Over all love the purchase and its an unparelleled display (IPS to IPS; OLED, miniLED and QOLED are better), and I was really suprised at how deep the blacks are, they are only a little off the bezel/miniLED/OLED black, they make the LG's look washed out and blue.
I pre-ordered this display right when it came out and got it a couple of days after the official release. It’s a great display but you have to want an APPLE DISPLAY for it to make any sense. IMHO it is worth the cost premium over the LG 5K ultra fine but you have to be committed to using a Mac at your desk for the foreseeable future. I greatly enjoy my 14" Macbook pro but if I wanted to switch to an XPS 15 I'd be up a creek.
I was wearing the exact same flannel jacket, more or less, when I bought my first PowerBook at the Apple Store - god, had to be 23 years ago. Might have been a few years older than you were there. I had one of those Dell panels, too. 😂 🙏🏼
some ppl don't care about aesthetics, but we artists do. Just ordered one, oh and did I mention I'm gonna use it with my PC. Maybe it sounds like a poor choice but honestly I just hate the look of LGs and Dells. If you are using it for work every day why compromise and not get what you know you want :)
As much as I hate the idea of dropping 2G on a monitor, my research has led me to understand that it is not actually priced that high over the actual competition. $300-$400 more maybe but I think the build out probably makes up for that. The tilt mechanism is a clear screw job however. I tried a few higher end monitors but non compared even to my 2015 imac display, which I am still using despite having a new M1 mini sitting beside me like a $2000 coaster. Just need to take the plunge for the mac display, which is hard because, you know....$2000 more. Damit.
I feel your pain. There’s just no other option. You can’t unsee the beauty and magazine level resolution of the studio display. My wallet is gonna be in severe pain.
@@MockManor I’m a year in with the display and I have to say the pain has subsided and I’m not second guessing the purchase but I know if I went with another monitor, I would constantly wonder what I might be missing. I only wish it had a couple of USB3 ports because not everything has switched to C yet and I run a stupid number of external hard drives. Apple still pisses me off on a regular basis though.
@@Nomadboatbuilding What’s killing me is that I just bought a Mac Studio M1 Max a month ago. I tried to hold out from my previous desktop, the trashcan 2013 Mac Pro. It was starting to be on its last legs so, I had to bite the bullet. I got the Mac Studio refurbished on eBay, for a nice discount. The performance jump is MASSIVE. I’m getting so much more work and projects completed with the Mac Studio. Now I have to consider getting a new display because I have the Thunderbolt Display from 2011, that still works fine, but the audio is crapping out. I can’t believe my display can still compete with these 4K displays, after ten years. Ughh, there’s just no other option when considering the studio display. 5K bright displays from Apple have spoiled me.
So just an fyi to anybody who wants to know the studio display and the pro display have the same pixel density and the same brightness when not viewing hdr content. the pro display hdr can get up to 1600 nits. also the pro display has micro led so it has less bleed but for most tasks they are equally good. Neither has a high refresh rate so that's also something to think about.
Interesting story....this will be my next monitor when my 2016 iMac 27 " dies....(regardless of cost)...to get better sound from my present 27" I simply Bluetooth a Sonos or Bose speaker .......beautiful 😅😅😅
Thanks for the video. Confirmed for me what I know but don't want to admit - I "need" the Apple display. I bought the LG (27UP850-W) and, while I'm sure it's great, it looked disappointing next to my iMac 24 screen. What I really want is another iMac 24 screen! LG returned, waiting on Apple Studio Display.
All other channels complain “there is much better monitors for half a price”. Well show us a monitor with: - 220+ ppi (no scaling issues) - proper DCI p3 (not like 95%) - properly calibrated, other brands just lie - proper looks, I’m sick of that cheap black plastic, kids space-ship looking shapes. I spend 10+ hours a day in front of it. - proper speaker and camera (everybody else on those calls see you in small square anyway)
"All other brands just lie". Well, with that attitude, youŕe not really worth a reply. But I'll still do it. The Studio Display can't push 600 nits. Only around 550. So they lied. Their claims about 1 billion colors on this display, is incorrect. So they lied. They say it can do (DCI-)P3. It can do around 98-99%. So they lied. But Apple never define what they mean and that's dishonest to the buyer. Any other manufacturer states a claim, like 99% DCI-P3. Sometimes they are a bit exaggerated claims, sometimes they can do better, in reality. I'm sorry, but Apple don't make better displays, than similar priced monitors from other brands. They use same technology as everyone else. And you can easily get other brands that are better, at the same price. Apple has to spend a lot of money on an aluminium backside and you are paying top dollars for the privilege to own one. Does it look nice? Sure, but many can't even see the backside of their displays. So who cares! All that alu brings no functionality. In fact, the shiny stand would be a no-go for anyone doing color critical work. If you do as the guy in the video and turn your brightness up to full or even close to full brightness, your color accuracy is gone out of the window. As for the +200 PPI, it's a total overkill on a 27" monitor. You won't see the difference on this display and a similar priced 3rd party 4K display that is sold as a color accurate display.
The 24" iMac is wholly underpowered and the screen is too small, which is why I bought an almost maxed out (no pun) Mac Studio M1 Max and an Apple Studio Display.
Did I just hear you say size queen... Made me laugh. Of course I won't be the first to mention it Lol Awesome that your videos are so personnal. That def makes them stand out. Good job !!
I’ve had a 5k2k for a few years. My sentiments are the same - great at first, but between scaling and non-retina, software based burn-in, etc. My VESA Studio Display is still a month away, but I’m glad to see now two people in the same boat that are happy with the same upgrade. Love the video!
Hi Noah, I just watched this vid today, and I was laughing at how similar our thought processes are in regard to buying the ASD. I'm still using my old faithful 2017 27" iMac. I was horrified when Apple released the new iMacs with only a 24" screen. WTAF? #sizequeensunited So I decided to go for a mac mini and a new display. I've probably seen 100's of reviews of alternative displays for macs, but always come back to the ASD. As you will know, It's been a bit of a wait for the latest M4 Mac mini (as they skipped M3), but it's almost here, so again, I've been looking at displays. After watching your vid, I'm deffo going to get the ASD...for all the same reasons you eventually bought it. Thanks :) Of course, the day I buy it, a new super-duper screen will come out at half the price! 🤣
Nothing wrong about the purchase, price etc. It's out there for people to buy if they can afford it. I do watch your videos, I like them but I never watch any RUclips videos on high scale high quality monitors, rather phones or tablet PCs. So, even you and other people who are so careful about how you see your productions on your screens... not wrong but 90 percent of your viewers have absolutely no advantage of that kind of quality unless if they watch them on a fast internet and high-end monitors or TVs as well. it's getting there; more people are catching up with the internet and better viewing options... but your purchase, including the stand within your budget, seemed more like a brand-love (not saying it in a bad way). Also, this video made me feel like you are seeking for justification, approval from other people (Edit: even you said weren't)... if that's the case, don't worry... it's your life, your money and your decision for your own comfort no matter what it costs. If makes you feel good, go for it. There are so many other RUclipsrs who started with one plastic desk, one old phone, one shy video these days can afford tremendous places, expensive cars, high-end equipments etc, which you are running towards. More is better, we come this life once, live it as it offers you. Nice video, keep up the god work 🙌
If only the 24" iMac had target display mode. That whole computer is cheaper than the Studio Display. I prefer two 24" monitors instead of a 27". I will probably just get this to make my eyes happy.
I went through a very similar experience. There is no substitute for 600nits, 218 PPI, and the beautiful aluminum and black aesthetic.
same here!
Yep all the commenters say, "Bro! My monitor is way better and I paid half as much!". And you're like, um, 110 ppi isn't in the same galaxy as this monitor.
@@BookClubDisaster indeed!

@@silversflow4469 yes to me, love it ❤

One of the best reviews on RUclips about this AMAZING display, keep it up🔥.
Stole the words right of my mouth. This monitor is a work of art.

Great video Noah, I have the Dell U2720Q still and I think it's one of the very few third party monitors that are half decent.
I was thinking of your setup while making this video haha
You are right Tom!
Can you link the light strip you use under the monitor? Thanks 😊
Which light bar at are you using on the back of the Studio Display?
Can you share the magnetic LED light on the monitor?
I bought one this week and love it. I just wish it was a few inches wider.
I mean just look at the empty space when googling on an ultra-wide, crazy.
very true!
I’ve been contemplating buying this exact monitor with the height adjustable stand. I’ve wanted an apple display for as long as I can remember. I’ve got a 4k display on my desk now but the scaling isn’t really great. I need a native 5k display.
Exactly haha, just make the jump. It'll hurt your wallet but you'll be happy I promise 😂
Can you please answer the oft-asked question of what kind of light do you have attached to the back of the display? I want a bias light, but don't want to stick a long string of tape light to it. What you have seems perfect. Please tell us the name or offer a link!
and also having an apple laptop in front of you…
when i was around that age we had an amiga at home
What's the light you have attached to the back of yours? I like that
How many people need to ask this question before he'll answer ya think!?! ;) I seriously cannot even find something similar to this, no matter how many keywords I use. Ugh.
Your candor is totally appreciated.
Seriously. Do people jack the brightness all the way up on their monitors? Pretty sure that's terrible for the eyes if you do that all the time.
Curious though, did you plan on moving this monitor in the different locations around your apartment lol cuz for a moment I thought you had 2 desks lol
But I do like the points you gave for this monitor. Would you recommend this as a first time all Apple everything monitor?
Is that sound coming ONLY from your lav, or do you wear one to get a backup audio in case of?
If it's lav only, I'd most definitely want the reference of that one.
🤯
Great video I’m planning on getting one this year and I am super excited about it
just got one to me, and dude... worth any penny!
great monitor, beautiful... it has a greater sound & fits my setup beautifully... as you've said, just deserved a better webcam.
Not OLED, not mini-LED backlit, no HDR, not even Liquid Retina.. So MacBook and iPad literally have better displays than this I suppose, you sure it’s worth it in 2024?? Lol
Ima be upgrading from an apple thunderbolt display! ......i can already tell when i get the studio display ima love it 🔥
My guy, it’s not a problem restricted to you.
I want to buy the blue iMac but I'm waiting for the new Apple event to see if they'll launch a new one with a bigger screen.
What’s the light you have on your studio display?
Nice! I saved for year for mine. Btw did you got yours at somerset in Troy?
I'm still using the 27" Apple Studio Display from 2011. I love it so much I'm looking to buy 2 more for a triple monitor setup. It's a 2560x1440 res with thick colors. I just can't justify the prices of today's cinema displays they offer. Looks beautiful man but I'll buy that same one in a few years for next to nothing.
How to find the wallpaper on your studio display?
W thumbnail, W video, W channel
Recently got myself one, but also paired it with a Studio Mac M1. Had to replace my 27" iMac (intel) with some better processing power.
Great review! What’s your backlight? I’d like to have a similar one. 👌🏻 secondly, is it nanotextured or normal?
I literally bought a 2014 5k iMac and used it for years. Then went to LG Ultrafine 5k which was okay. Then to m1 iMac and now I bought a studio display. My mic doesn’t work on the studio display but it’s such a similar story
17:33 what's the scaled resolution that you have? default or more space etc. (on preferences > display).
Definitely a game changer. It’s really the only option outside the HDR
Picture looks great. Camera and lighting is 👌🏽
Take care buddy, and thanks for the great reviews!
Thanks Nick! Some people are scared to buy it... so I had to give them a long spiel haha. Take care as well :)
I really enjoyed this conversational-style video! It plays really well in the background ☺️
If it’s the best, are you overpaying?
15:52 "The bezels were too thin on my last monitor, I like how this one feels more substantial" omg bro. I mean everyone's a critic, but this is what gives apple lovers a bad wrap: hyping up thicc bezels.
On the PC side, I only looking at 32in 4k 10bit ips. 27in to small.
“-I’m a size queen “ SAME SIS
I’ll probably get one unless Apple plans to release an update soon.
So many RUclipsrs talk about upgrading laptops and desktop computers every two or three years. I max out the configuration and usually have my machines for at least eight years 🤷♂️
big problem though - I'd like to switch the monitor between two Macs. No ability to do that
I really enjoyed hearing about your experience with panels and macs.
Any Comments about nanotexturized vs glossy glass ?
wow you must be so young !
having such a high resolution pciture of yourself as a child, wow…
I’m 21 haha. Is that young?
Thanks!
Nicely put, great work!
Only thing I don’t like about these: no detachable power cable. 😊 also, the placement of the thunderbolt in…not so great.
This is so cool ! 💯
yay another Noah Herman video
some ppl don't care about aesthetics, but we artists do. Just ordered one, oh and did I mention I'm gonna use it with my PC. Maybe it sounds like a poor choice but honestly I just hate the look of LGs and Dells. If you are using it for work every day why compromise and not get what you know you want :)
Nano glass?
Ordered!! The best for the Apple ecosystem! Dieter Rams all the way 😂💯
Are u getting glass or nano texture?
Glass!! Nano is gross
It isn't cheap but it's the bomb. Love my ASD.
Really love this video Noah👍👍
Your reasons, my reasons, I'll buy it but! when they a Mini LED version.
Interesting story....this will be my next monitor when my 2016 iMac 27 " dies....(regardless of cost)...to get better sound from my present 27" I simply Bluetooth a Sonos or Bose speaker .......beautiful 😅😅😅
I need 120fps. Maybe next version
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 0:50 Can we all agree ADORABLE??? 😁😁😁😁😁
I feel the same way, after years of using my 5K imac, I knew a 4k monitor for my new mac studio upgrade wouldn't work for me.
You are not stupid because you are happy !
My guy is doing bits
All other channels complain “there is much better monitors for half a price”.
Well show us a monitor with:
- 220+ ppi (no scaling issues)
- proper DCI p3 (not like 95%)
- properly calibrated, other brands just lie
- proper looks, I’m sick of that cheap black plastic, kids space-ship looking shapes.
I have M1 iMac and a Dell Ultrawide 34' monitor, I always prefer the iMac screen
The 24" iMac is wholly underpowered and the screen is too small, which is why I bought an almost maxed out (no pun) Mac Studio M1 Max and an Apple Studio Display.
how can i get that wallpaper
canoopsy.media
@@NoahHerman thanks, bought it!
Did I just hear you say size queen... Made me laugh. Of course I won't be the first to mention it Lol Awesome that your videos are so personnal. That def makes them stand out. Good job !!
I just want a glossy display, if a non apple OEM sells one I will get that, but no one makes it other than apple and LG :-(
Great review, love mine!
I’ve had a 5k2k for a few years. My sentiments are the same - great at first, but between scaling and non-retina, software based burn-in, etc.
My VESA Studio Display is still a month away, but I’m glad to see now two people in the same boat that are happy with the same upgrade. Love the video!
U are living my life bro
core i9 with 8gb of ram is something I never thought I'd say in the same sentence
Thanks :)
Of course, the day I buy it, a new super-duper screen will come out at half the price!
