I know one wealthy barber. He started his own salon business in his early 20’s. By his 30’s he had got into construction and become a contractor. Then he built a couple apartment complexes and rented those out. Now he’s 48 and a multi millionaire and cuts hair 3 days a week and almost everything else manages itself. And he put all his kids through college and raised them to work hard. And goes on vacations whenever he wants.

It took me 8 years of investing in real estate to replace my day job income, now financially free in my mid thirties. You need to make at least six figures in my opinion if you want financial freedom in 5 to 10 years. If you're only making 70K you don't have enough to put into investments. NP and PA can make $120K, not bad. I was making ~$100K as a resident while in the military which was a nice springboard to get into real estate. You could thank the government and Fed now that if you don't already own real estate, it's probably too expensive and you're likely never going to own it.

Don’t forget about blue collar workers. As an overhead lineman, we make between 150k to 300k USD depending on how much OT you want. No degree needed…no it’s not 7 figures but you can always use that income to help you with your entrepreneurial adventures weather you wanna start a welding, excavation, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, carpentry or rental property business. Rich is 100% right about solving problems leads to making money. Right now and in the coming years our world is losing many people in the blue collar trades due to them hitting retirement ages. If you enjoy working with your hands you can create a good life for yourself if you master your craft. Making $$ does come in the form of hard work/dressed in overalls.
Thank you. I like Cooper, but he strikes me as one of those who looks down on people who keep the world running like all those you mentioned. I think these are great avenues for young men when they need direction rather than a lot of the nonsense that people peddle like crypto and stocks because fundamentally - these do NOT create value. In fact, I would argue Cooper does not create value, and I believe a plumber or electrician has more value than he does.

This is great stuff. I love Rich's commentary. My only area of disagreement is with the Wealthy Barber, and his criticism of it. If Rich really understood that book, he would realize it says what he says: Serve customers well (Barbers are effectively entrepreneurs, small business owners, tradespeople), earn as much as you can by adding value, live within your means, save and invest the difference between earnings and spending, do it consistently over time in a disciplined manner, and you will become wealthy. How wealthy is the question - most professionals, if they follow this model, can easily retire with several million, and possibly a lot more, by the time they retire.

Look at all the 100k earners who are still broke at the end of the month. Look at all these jock athletes who literally made millions and have nothing to show for it when their careers end. Younger dudes, don’t jump right into sales if you’re not sure if you’d enjoy it or you don’t have a natural propensity for sales. I failed in sales out of college because I don’t enjoy talking to people as much as I thought, and I struggled to care about relating to people. I’m 26 now, working a corporate gig while on the path to owning my own business and I couldn’t be happier. I get to solve problems, work on a team, and I go to work happy every day.

Start by looking for a purpose. Try to align your natural abilities with what other ppl need. ikigai is japanese for finding your reason for being. Its a way for finding the intersection of what you like to do what you are good at doing n what things other ppl need done that you can get paid for doing. Steve Harvey has a great take on this idea.

Especially services around sales and customer acquisition which many B2B companies struggle with. By focussing on B2B client acquisition, you build your own muscle on exactly what you help your clients with - so it is self-reinforcing and gets better with every customer project. I did so with sales and channel sales optimisation. You would not believe how many B2B SaaS companies assume they sell a product, whereby what customers only care about is quantifiable outcomes. That distinction alone, and how to make the transition is very valuable to B2B companies aiming towards a major exit at some point. Somebody's got to tell them and show them better ways to sell. :-)

You have to identify how you can create value and work extremely hard at becoming proficient at it. The "easiest" and quickest way is to get into sales. Sell something that has high value and high margins. Some great books on selling: Cardone's Sell or Be Sold & Gittomer's Little Red Book of Sales. Once you start making money, play good defense and save at least 25% of your net income. Invest in VOO stock symbol every month and over time you will build your net worth. Is that detailed enough for you?

I thought I missed out on Tesla but the original Covid dip gave me a second chance and I went in heavy. It is the only individual stock I have ever bought. I have made plenty of mistakes along the way but have always tried to stay true to the 75/25 rule and have amassed an $8.6 million dollar net worth (with my businesses factored in) at age 48. Play to your strengths.

Have been a software engineer for a decade. 99% of people do not have the cognitive ability for this profession. If you go to an easy school and manage to get that first job, you’ll likely fall on your face if you’re lacking the mental horsepower. It is cringe to see so many people recommending this profession thinking it will be easy money. The people making $700k are an extremely small group of pioneers in the field. Almost nobody will ever come close to that.
As a man, I pretty firmly believe there's four ways to totally screw yourself and any success you might have.... 1. Drug/alcohol addiction - This one's easy. Don't do drugs and control your drinking. If you or any close relatives have issues with this, be straight edge and don't fuck with any of it. 2. Arrest/legal issues - This one's also easy. Don't do stupid shit, stay away from stupid people and control yourself around things that could hurt you legally. Additionally, make sure you protect yourself ahead of time with things like lawyers on retainer if you can afford them, or at minimum things like legal insurance (even something cheap like a legal shield policy can save you a lot of headaches) if something does happen that's beyond your control. 3. Serious injury/long-term medical problems - Don't do dangerous shit that will get you injured, eat well, get exercise, don't smoke, etc. Basically take care of yourself, HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE and if you're going to do dumb things (I box like 40 rounds a week for example) do it under professional supervision. 4. Bad females - This is the hardest one of the lot. This is something I have definitely failed at personally, but my best advice is listen to your intuition, learn to identify red flags, pay attention to them and if she demonstrates dangerous or toxic behavior, do not rationalize or tolerate it and get away from her IMMEDIATELY. Sticking around and hoping it will get better will not be worth it no matter what she's offering up initially. Getting involved with a bad female is the single most expensive mistake that a man can make BY FAR. You are ALWAYS better off by yourself. For a man, modern long-term relationships are business contracts that the person on the other dotted line has constant incentives to break, that are 100% to your detriment and that you will never enjoy in return (No matter who the bad guy is). Do not forget this and ALWAYS exercise the most extreme caution. Who you pick to spend your life with is your most important decision. CHOOSE WISELY. /Rant

Correct me if I am wrong, but you are basically promoting yourself as a relationship and dating also wealth creation guru, and then you steer your audience to your $1000.00 per year group, so you basically if you get 100 people to join that you are making $100k per year, and if you get 1000 people to join that you are making $1 million dollars per year, and hopefully people will just renew each year growing your followers paying $1000 per year and then after say 10 years if you have got just 10 thousand members you are making $10 million dollars per year basically not really doing that much besides promoting joining your group... seems like a pretty good idea if that is basically how it works.

I also think you set it to auto-renew unless they cancel prior to 30 days so then if they forget to cancel they will pay for another year, so that way you get at least 2 years. I can't imagine what he possibly has on his website but renewals are probably a bonus whereas new members are probably the focus. The point is you only need 100 people to sign up per year to make twice the average income. And I mean it's not like actually working.

@@dmark2639 Obviously not ultra low six figures, but if you're at 150k level you should be able to put away a third of your gross. It doesn't take much from there to hit 70k in savings pa. This does suppose your aim is a million asap from a job, which will require some compromise and sacrifice.

Don’t forget about blue collar workers. As an overhead lineman, we make between 150k to 300k USD depending on how much OT you want. No degree needed…no it’s not 7 figures but you can always use that income to help you with your entrepreneurial adventures weather you wanna start a welding, excavation, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, carpentry or rental property business. Rich is 100% right about solving problems leads to making money. Right now and in the coming years our world is losing many people in the blue collar trades due to them hitting retirement ages. If you enjoy working with your hands you can create a good life for yourself if you master your craft. Making $$ does come in the form of hard work/dressed in overalls.

I think these are great avenues for young men when they need direction rather than a lot of the nonsense that people peddle like crypto and stocks because fundamentally - these do NOT create value.

Produce significantly more than you consume. That's where you start. Then you'll start to see the money flow and use your skills to solve problems which will direct some of that flow towards you.
Investing in things that pay compound interest. This quickly adds up over time especially if you don't have a vampire sucking you dry.

This is great stuff. I love Rich's commentary. My only area of disagreement is with the Wealthy Barber, and his criticism of it. If Rich really understood that book, he would realize it says what he says: Serve customers well (Barbers are effectively entrepreneurs, small business owners, tradespeople), earn as much as you can by adding value, live within your means, save and invest the difference between earnings and spending, do it consistently over time in a disciplined manner, and you will become wealthy. How wealthy is the question - most professionals, if they follow this model, can easily retire with several million, and possibly a lot more, by the time they retire.
The principles in "the wealthy barber" have made many retire wealthy. It's not about how much you make but how much you keep.

Look at all the 100k earners who are still broke at the end of the month. Look at all these jock athletes who literally made millions and have nothing to show for it when their careers end. You have to identify how you can create value and work extremely hard at becoming proficient at it. The "easiest" and quickest way is to get into sales. Sell something that has high value and high margins. Some great books on selling: Cardone's Sell or Be Sold & Gittomer's Little Red Book of Sales. Once you start making money, play good defense and save at least 25% of your net income. Invest in VOO stock symbol every month and over time you will build your net worth. I thought I missed out on Tesla but the original Covid dip gave me a second chance and I went in heavy. It is the only individual stock I have ever bought. I have made plenty of mistakes along the way but have always tried to stay true to the 75/25 rule and have amassed an $8.6 million dollar net worth (with my businesses factored in) at age 48. Have been a software engineer for a decade. 99% of people do not have the cognitive ability for this profession. If you go to an easy school and manage to get that first job, you’ll likely fall on your face if you’re lacking the mental horsepower. It is cringe to see so many people recommending this profession thinking it will be easy money. The people making $700k are an extremely small group of pioneers in the field. Almost nobody will ever come close to that.

As a man, I pretty firmly believe there's four ways to totally screw yourself and any success you might have....
1. Drug/alcohol addiction - This one's easy. Don't do drugs and control your drinking. If you or any close relatives have issues with this, be straight edge and don't fuck with any of it.
2. Arrest/legal issues - This one's also easy. Don't do stupid shit, stay away from stupid people and control yourself around things that could hurt you legally. Additionally, make sure you protect yourself ahead of time with things like lawyers on retainer if you can afford them, or at minimum things like legal insurance (even something cheap like a legal shield policy can save you a lot of headaches) if something does happen that's beyond your control.
3. Serious injury/long-term medical problems - Don't do dangerous shit that will get you injured, eat well, get exercise, don't smoke, etc. Basically take care of yourself, HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE and if you're going to do dumb things (I box like 40 rounds a week for example) do it under professional supervision.
4. Bad females - This is the hardest one of the lot. This is something I have definitely failed at personally, but my best advice is listen to your intuition, learn to identify red flags, pay attention to them and if she demonstrates dangerous or toxic behavior, do not rationalize or tolerate it and get away from her IMMEDIATELY. Sticking around and hoping it will get better will not be worth it no matter what she's offering up initially. Getting involved with a bad female is the single most expensive mistake that a man can make BY FAR. You are ALWAYS better off by yourself. For a man, modern long-term relationships are business contracts that the person on the other dotted line has constant incentives to break, that are 100% to your detriment and that you will never enjoy in return (No matter who the bad guy is). Do not forget this and ALWAYS exercise the most extreme caution. Who you pick to spend your life with is your most important decision. CHOOSE WISELY.

I get what you are doing. Correct me if I am wrong, but you are basically promoting yourself as a relationship and dating also wealth creation guru, and then you steer your audience to your $1000.00 per year group, so you basically if you get 100 people to join that you are making $100k per year, and if you get 1000 people to join that you are making $1 million dollars per year, and hopefully people will just renew each year growing your followers paying $1000 per year and then after say 10 years if you have got just 10 thousand members you are making $10 million dollars per year basically not really doing that much besides promoting joining your group... seems like a pretty good idea if that is basically how it works.

I also think you set it to auto-renew unless they cancel prior to 30 days so then if they forget to cancel they will pay for another year, so that way you get at least 2 years. I can't imagine what he possibly has on his website but renewals are probably a bonus whereas new members are probably the focus. The point is you only need 100 people to sign up per year to make twice the average income. And I mean it's not like actually working.

@@dmark2639 Obviously not ultra low six figures, but if you're at 150k level you should be able to put away a third of your gross. It doesn't take much from there to hit 70k in savings pa. This does suppose your aim is a million asap from a job, which will require some compromise and sacrifice.
