@@danielmorley3690 I was a Colchester supporter when they tipped Wycombe on goal difference to be Champions. I moved to Sheffield Wednesday in December 1993
I was at the Liverpool v Forest game. For 20 minutes the Liverpool players looked more drunk than the fans were the previous night! Fortunately Fowler was on top form at the time and made it 7 goals in 3 home games following his hattrick v Arsenal and brace v Man United.
That BBC Sport music sounded similar to the music when you loaded a game on the original Playstation console when the PS logo appears. Also wow we (as in Leeds Utd) play Blackburn on this new years day too (2025) hope we get a better result. Oh yes and the days Rugby league was still a Winter/Spring sport before it switched a few years later to Spring/Summer
I remember Alan Wright of all people scoring an absolute worldie for Aston Villa against us that day. I was sat right behind the line of it, he pinged it like Roberto Carlos!
Good win for Kidderminster in the Worcestershire derby against Bromsgrove, I was born in Bromsgrove but lived in Kidderminster to Scots parents moved to Scotland when I was 6.
Aah the famous BBC sports vidiprinter. I always used to tune in at 4-45pm and watch the vidiprinter every Saturday on grandstand and on days like Boxing 🥊 Day,New Years Day etc. Fab memories. 😂 By the way this was the season where Kevin Keegan's Newcastle Utd famously lost a 12 point lead at the top of the Premier League and were pipped to the title by Sir Alex Ferguson's Man United. Scary eh. 😆
Well technically we didn't see the "vidiprinter" in this video. That was the real time updates during matches and when the scores at full time came in. These are the Classified Results.
@@Ian_Livesey Well I was just testing u! 😂 😆 Anyway these classified scores remind me of the days of Grandstand and the famous vidiprinter on Saturdays. 😆 🤔
or playing SNES/Amiga with matey from down the road while taking a break (usually a ham sandwich packet of crisps and a drink) over teletext live scores lol
Spurs battered United that evening with William Prunier at centre half having an absolute stinker. I remember Andy Cole scored an all time great goal but it was disallowed. Would love to see a repeat of that to confirm it was as great as I remember.
I can't believe how different Richie Burnett looks now. Some people when they age just look the same but with less or greyer hair and more wrinkles. But Richie looks like another person.
Aye and Man United still pipped Newcastle Utd to the title that season despite being 12 points behind the magpies at some part of the season. Amazing turn around it was.
Back in the mythical 90s and before, the weather would call off many games because of terrible weather because the money for drainage and all manner of other things weren't invented. I kinda miss them days - pitches looking more Sunday League than Premier League and all that. More money that came into the game, the more teams had access to improve their infrastructure beyond belief and the less likely you'll see teams with games called off which is a bit of a shame in some respects.
How was there more Conference games than 2nd & 3rd Division combined? Was the weather not as effective with those teams or dud they not just give a darn? 😆
The only time you see all games kick off at the same time now is the final day of the season. You get half of the games on Saturday and the rest on Sunday with some Friday and Monday night games thrown in the top flight.
@@PeaveyPV20 Unlike most people, I actually quite like Clinton Morrison because he's always sunny side up, unlike most pundits. However, I do agree that most of them talk like mockney idiots who sound like they left school early, probably because most of them did.
That BBC sports jingle still sends a shiver down my spine for some reason
Ahh the painful longing for a return to those times
Those were the days eh, ❤
Still call it the vauxhall conference.
Always will be
Good division then, Welling always avoided the drop
My uncle was captain at Altrincham for about 8 years mid 90s to be honest used to go watch him most weeks standard wasn't great
Me too

Barry Davies. The best.
I remember Alan Wright of all people scoring an absolute worldie for Aston Villa against us that day. I was sat right behind the line of it, he pinged it like Roberto Carlos!
The Hibs v Hearts game ended the same score line yesterday as well
The only difference was that the game this boxing 🥊 day was at Tynecastle and the game from 1996 was at Easter Road.🛣️ 😂
Terrible Christmas that year, no racing all week (apart from those 5 races at Exeter) due to frost/snow.
As a Villa fan, it's mad to think this year was the time we won a major trophy. 😤
Good win for Kidderminster in the Worcestershire derby against Bromsgrove, I was born in Bromsgrove but lived in Kidderminster to Scots parents moved to Scotland when I was 6.
Great one. Thx

Man City went down this season; how times have changed!
No sponsorship plastered all over the manager interviews, shows who's in control of the league's now, can't you?
League's what?
@riantowl
Eh?
@@sj-30000 You said league's. The league's favourite ice cream?
I wonder what happened to wee Joshua?
Roy Evans "we got a chance if we can be consistent" - sadly we werent. 😢
Fulham vs Scunthorpe
Literally 5 divisions between the two teams now.
Southend 7th in the 2nd tier? Wow.
I can't believe how different Richie Burnett looks now. Some people when they age just look the same but with less or greyer hair and more wrinkles. But Richie looks like another person.
Oh bugger it we're an evening kick-off at home to Utd. I remember us beating Utd 4-1 on new years day arond this time, i wonder if this was that time.
What’s the song playing in the background at Anfield? 2:05
Take That - Never Forget
The peak 90’s
Remember this, spuds spanked united 4-1 in the evening kick off 💪🏻

Multicoloured seats behind the goal at Anfield . Blue section, red, yellow, green, white.

me: 🤒🤢🤮😂
Dont remember evening games back then?
Dagenham and Redbridge had only existed 4 years at this point - neat to see them here although we're still in the Conference lol
Also the year we got relegated lol
Oh god.....ypu have no idea how depressing this is as a Bristol Rovers fan seeing us above City 😭😭
Why were so many games postponed?
My guess would be because of the weather causing the pitches to be unplayable

Beat Bolton 4-2 😊
I remember end of 1995/beginning of 1996. The weather was atrocious and it started on Boxing Day evening.
Only two games on in Scotland played on pitches with undersoil heating
Interesting how most of the conference managed to play their games, when half the football league was postponed!
Grimsby in 2nd tier?

I wonder if Coastermania was any good.

To think Southend are out the league all together 😂
Don't think I,ll ever see the pitmen back in there, here's hoping

Always watched in these Better times ,...it's rubbish today, don't watch anymore, just doesn't appeal anymore
Look at Fulham
A month later we plummeted to 23rd and then lost to bottom side Torquay. That season was the culmination of the 1986-1996 dark era at Fulham.
Majority of the games kicked off at the same too😅😅😅😅😅

Very well said!
Now that's how the scores should be read out, completely professional job.
Literally at 6:53 announcer completely fumbles
I get what you're saying, but let's not pretend the past was perfect
