Lol to answer your question 6 months later -- I remember we had 91 cm of snow that night, it was too dangerous to be outside shoveling with the high winds
I live in Newfoundland, and this was one of the most intense storms in history. Not because of the amount of snow so much, but more-so because of the winds, they reached 160 Km/h. That created heavy packed snow towering over 20 feet high in a lot of areas. **EDIT** A man did die from this storm, he went out in the storm to walk to a friends house and lost his direction. He text his friend saying he was lost and his phone was about to die. A RCMP search team responded, but had to call off the search due to the intense storm and dangers associated. The RCMP and S&R resumed searching ASAP for several days but did not find him and scaled back the search, volunteers continued searching and after more than a week lost, Josh Wall was found deceased. I don't know the exact cause of death, one can presume he froze to death. R.I.P. Josh Wall. Sadly, two elderly people also died, relating to overexertion from shovelling snow. The snow removal has been difficult with nowhere to put it. But we did have the Army reservists to help out. We Thank them!

Gerald Giles That was a typo lol 8 inches in total, piled up however added to 8 feet in my driveway, two weeks ago. Even outdoor parkades had massive barricades made of it. 😂
This is not unusual here in the U.S. in upstate NY in the Tug Hill Plateau as well, where snow at this scale falls almost every winter. Lake effect snow coming off the entire length of Lake Ontario coupled with the higher elevation of that region enable these extremely high amounts to fall there. This footage reminds me of that.
I hate snow and Winter in Ontario, it's never this bad after a night of a Snowstorm. However it can get as deep as your car doors, some times I would spent hours shoveling the snow around my car just to get out of my parking spot.
Wow!!! That is incredible. Question: How do you get rid of the snow from around your home and car? Enough so you can use your car and walk in your front door? I don't live in a snow area and genuinely curious.
In this case ...the army was called in to dig them out. But usually it's the town that sends in the plows right after the storm and snow gets first cleared from the streets and then removed from other places.
Normally, we shovel the snow from the parking lot to put it on the land around the house ! And we shovel to do a passage to the house... and don't forget to remove snow from the basement windows !
They had to dig the cars out so the big equipment could clear it all away and dump it in the harbour eh! Took weeks to get back to normal only to get locked down with the COVID Newfoundland’s never saw anything like in memory.
