I've driven 2 of these, Auto and Manual. The Auto is faster, but it feels like you're driving a fast Dodge Ram. With the Manual its absolutely fantastic to drive. If I could order one from the Factory I would want Scat Pack Wide Body Shaker Manual in Red with a black hood.
You nailed it. We drove an auto. It is indeed quicker at WOT. But unless you're at WOT, it feels like a wet lump of bread. These manuals have the same trans/ dual disc clutch as a Viper - and it transforms the car into a real driver's car. Many handle better - but at 6/10ths on a backroad - it sure puts a grin on our faces.
I agree, the manual is way more fun. I won't crap on the auto stick,. After I lost my leg I had to trade in my manual 3920 for an auto 1320 and boy that auto stick is almost just as fun. I still get the phantom limb thinking im pressing the clutch
Being purely a weekend car, I do not track fuel economy. I have however on a road trip experienced 8L/100km driven gingerly, and 10.3 driven normally. The manual may not have MDS, but fuel mileage is completely acceptable.
Personal preference. I love the sound of a V8 and rear wheel but something about a small turbo 4cyl is just heaven, the mobility is nuts. But nothing grabs attention like a loud ass cat back 392
It's not all about wins and losses. Fact is; wins and losses only matter in racing and comparison videos. The Challenger is not the fastest, or best handling. But the car has more soul than many, and is an absolute riot to drive. The monstrous torque makes it feel faster than it is, and best of all that torque makes it an incredible cruiser and highway car. I sold my Japanese car, although the Chally may lose to it... I just don't care. 😅
There will always be faster and quicker cars. But not another hemi. Ive had my 2023 Dodge challenger wide body skat pack sublime green special edition swinger 6 speed manual 6.4 hemi shaker , say that 3 times fast, at 135 mph. The front end started feeling light and i slowed it down. Imagine a 4,000 lb car feeling light. All that low end torque makes it a blast to drive from 0-100mph.

@@fulcrumsee5968that’s sick bro 💪🏽 that auto does feel nice especially when you use the shifter instead of the paddles
I own a auto 392. It doesn't feel anything like a Ram. I own a Ram....
A Viper is a T56. Your Challenger is a TR6060. Both Tremec but not the same box. @@tanktheram
It’s cool to see other 392s/scatpacks in manual, autos are faster but Id rather actually feel the power in my car in every gear
Great all round drivers car in a manual. Fun, comfortable, smile inducing - every time out!
awesome car, looks like fun
Thanks! It is a riot!
Just ordered a scatpack 6 speed. Should be here this week. Cant wait.
Congrats! Such a great package. 👍
@tanktheram Man I love my car so much!

Also a 2016! Wicked combo 🍻
Looks like around Mission, BC?
Mexico 🇲🇽 😅
KPH...
And I live in Canada? Home of the great North and Free?

@@lordbluebaron2270 right, our motto is "the true north strong and free" 😅
Stick is the way to go. Auto don't move that good
no way thats a 6 speed
The gears are way too long!
How is the gas mileage in comparison with the ZF 8 speed since the manual doesn't have cylinder deactivation?

@@tanktheram All right thanks man, enjoy your challenger while we still can!

Its kph
I'll never understand people buying scats when they lose to 2009 japanese cars but... atleast its manual I guess?

What 2009 Japanese car is it losing to?
@@Justin_GFM
Why the Prius ofc
@@Justin_GFM truth! Can't wait to get out next summer and make some more Chally backroad vids.
