Best song on the album.🤜🤛
Thanx for adding the intro 👍👍he was picking the fast notes and hammering the lower tones with his fretting hand. The dude was on another level R.I.P. King Edward 🎸🎸👑👑❤❤
my favorite Van halen song.... great and not overplayed
Man, I really respect that you don't pause the songs 50 times and just let them play!
This! It's like listening to music with a friend. Friends don't pause the music to talk.
A very under rated album and this is one of my favourite VH songs.
Favorite song on the album
Mine is Intruder. The song that could have been...
It's hard to pick favorites from Van Halen, but this is definitely one of their best (of many great ones)
This and the Full Bug are my favorite off this album
I love Hang Em High too🎸🔥
This is easily in my top 5 Van Halen songs along with Ain't talking bout love
Best of the record and one of my favorite VH songs. Absolutely gorgeous intro and the whole dang song is just amazing.
I love this album... Because to me, it was always like a B side or a deep cut album. Plus, it takes me back to simpler times. Great vid
Yes, I've been enjoying this album! Thank you.
One of my faves. Give me goosebumps till this day!
My favorite on the album. I'm enjoying this album but really looking forward to 1984
What I love about this song is Dave’s voice is in perfect harmony with Ed’s guitar. It happens on a lot of their songs but here especially. This is a great song and it’s even better live. Ed really gets into it. Thanks for reacting.
Dave was under rated as a singer.
So much talent
I forgot how much I loved this record!
My #1 favorite VH song ever!
Love this song and your reaction to it ! Eddie really shows off his versatility on this song. That outro is fire !!🔥🔥
Another good deep track for Mr. Biz... Thanks.
Love this song❤, thank you Biz
Eddie actually used a half sized guitar on the song after the introduction
That groove after the intro is NASTY! I love this song! Biz I hope you plan on doing "A Different Kind Of Truth" the last studio album VH and Dave would ever record; released in 2012. Do let the haters sway you. It's easily in the Top 5 Dave era albums though I would set it even higher, Edward VH plays like a demon on it. Watch out! Here come the haters.
A fantastic comeback. What other 60-year-olds have the same juice?!
I really appreciate your reactions. You really feel the music, in my opinion. I love this song. It's definitely a fan favorite. Don't try to rank this album until you've heard all of it. There are still some face melters left. Also, you haven't even got to 1984 yet, lol.
Nailin it Biz! ⚡️💀⚡️
Thank you fam
I love their rendition of Oh Pretty Woman
Can’t wait till you hear full bug!!!!
If you look at the biggest rock acts of each area Van Halen definitely has their place. Elvis was on top from the late 50s until the Beatles came along in 64 as well as the Stones. 70s was the decade of Zeppelin & Pink Floyd with the Stones still hanging around and Van emerging as a force. VH were kings until Metallica came along with the first of their big 4 albums Ride the Lightning in 1984 and Guns N Roses in 1987 with their huge album Appetite for Destruction
And VH was still big enough that their gen of fans still don't recognize Metallica or G n R as being as "great" as Van Halen.
WHAT UP MY BRUTHA! Just showin ya some love! Love ANYTHING VAN HALEN!! Eddie (RIP) Van Halen, GOAT!!
You have to love that they created a new sound, and a new era of rock music, when everyone else was just trying to copy Zeppelin.
Fun album, I don’t mind the covers
VH!😊
VH good stuff
Best song (songs) on the album
Great album for a road trip. For years I thought DLR was singing “Etch a sketch.”. Go figure.
I can hear the progression now from the ending guitar part here to the opening synch part on the 1984 album.
Tough to do but here’s my order from the DLR era.
1. VH 2
2. Fair Warning
3. VH 1
4. Women and Children First
5. Diver Down
6 1984
Yeah a REALLY great song underrated IMHO Eddie always wanted to be recognized for his songwriting but the dude was so amazing on guitar it overshadowed everything TY Ed
I agree, this feels like a Summer vibes song. This album was released during my Senior year in High School. So, it has a special feel to it, looking back. "Diver Down is the weakest VH album of the first six IMO. BTW, "Van Halen II" is in my Top 3 Van Halen records. "Van Halen" and "Fair Warning" are the other two...(no particular order)
BEST:
#1. Van Halen I
#2. Fair Warning
#3. Women & Children First
#4. Diver Down
#5. VH II
#6. 1984
(but idk for some damn reason Diver Down is my personal FAVE frfr lol)
…….getting closer to the best track on the album “Full Bug” this track could fit perfectly on the debut album, has the same rhythm as “I’m The One” which is my favorite VH track ! ❤️🎸🔥
……shoutout to Alex Van Halen 🥁
Favorite VH song. Some of Dave’s best/clever lyrics and define the album imo. “Catch as catch, catch-as-catch-can…” (definition: using any available means or method)
hell yeah, VH Warrior!
this was certainly EVH's least favorite album...but it was MY VERY FIRST VH album...so it will always hold a special place in my heart
Go Eddie and Alex, the Van Halen brothers !
❤️👍💯
RIP King Edward 🙏
Number One for me is 1984.
I forgot how much parts of this sound like Rush.
Álbum, Creatures of the night - kiss 🙏🙏
Biz, keep an open mind when you listen to Big Bad Bill. Is there another rock band as wildly versatile as Van Halen? (I don’t think so.) It’s a jazzy swing tune with the brothers’ dad - Jan Van Halen - on clarinet. He was in post-war big bands and carried on playing even after having a couple of fingers chomped off in an accident. Killer track and Dave’s suggestion for the band - and Jan - to cover. Peace!
Have to give the Sammy Hagar era a listen to he’s got some
Jams
I can't even turn this down low enough lol
lmao oh nahhhh
and despite all the histrionics from the egomaniacal guitarists who comment on a song like this, the best part of the song is OWNED by Roth at the 5:04 mark of this video. Everything in the song is simply a prelude to the self vocalized harmony Roth injects at that point of the song. It's the ultimate pay off that the whole song is driving towards, and Roth delivers it perfectly.
God Bless David Lee Roth, because it was NEVER really Van Halen after he left in 1985. A song like this is the proof. Eddie can be noodling around as much as he can and does, but in the end it is Roth who has the most memorable moment of the song.
First, I don't think you've done A Different Kind of Truth from 2012. IMO: 1984>VH1>ADKoT>VH2>W&CF>FW>DD.
This was definitely their most eclectic of the original line ups albums. In my humble opinion Fair Warning is their best. Never got into Van Hager!!!
