      My opinion is that it's a useless product. The motor isn't strong enough and as you allude to, the soil doesn't stay inside long enough -loads falls through or back out the front,and as you also say, the detritous ends up being mixed with the screened soil. It should have (in my view) a cover on one end that you can unclip/open at a time of your choosing to release the stuff in the drum, once you feel it's had enough time to be screened properly.

      @MCMikey69691 reangle it", it's not rocket science, still works brilliantly

    ...sieving soil on a graveyard. I was waiting for some bones to drop out

    Why did you discard the 10mm sieve? Would it not cope with all of the stone?

      It would have sieved it smaller than I needed for a planting border. I have used the 10 mesh for sieving sharp sand.

    Hello , would this machine be good for separating and cleaning the chip stones in my garden ?

      Yes if it’s pea beech you have. Obviously the bigger the stone the more chance it’s going to be chucked out with the rubbish.

    great video, how do you think it'll do with clay?

    • @PhilipHollowaychannel
      @PhilipHollowaychannel  2 года назад +2

      If it’s loose clay it might be ok but if it’s like the clay I have I wouldn’t even bother. It’s really for sieving the soil. It works best with topsoil or compost. Hope this helps

    How long would it take you roughly to screen an area of about 10m²?

    • @PhilipHollowaychannel
      @PhilipHollowaychannel  Год назад +2

      It screens the soil as fast as you can dig it. So all depends how deep you’re going and how quickly you can shovel. If the soil is damper, it will take longer for it to break up then it would if it was dry.

    I built something like this myself, using an ordinary drill as a drive: ruclips.net/video/zI2Szbe7whM/видео.html
