so so so glad to see back! believe it or not you were the first let's play I really watched with your myst let's plays. this was about 2 years ago and watching those videos really helped me out of a very tough time I was going through. just wanted to share both my thanks and appreciation for what you do. thank you very very much for your work.
From what I've been able to find Ragnar of RTG staff had this to say about the changes to Storytime:
"A HUGE amount of players got stuck in Storytime and never progressed
beyond that point. General feedback has been - from a majority of
players; not necessarily you guys - that Storytime was weak, slow,
confusing and ultimately pointless.
We tend to agree, and Storytime was also the first gameplay we
implemented (after a Friar's Keep prototype) years ago. We had to clean
it up for upcoming ports, and we also wanted to properly communicate
Zoë's powers (and the fact that there were so many dreamers to deal
with). We feel the changes address and reflect these issues, and I
personally prefer the new Storytime.
Those of you who played the original Storytime will feel differently
about it than those who come in fresh, never having played it before.
Agree or disagree with our choice, it's hard to judge based on your
preconceptions.
We'll probably add the original Storytime scenes back as digital
extras (deleted scenes) at some point, so they won't be lost
forever...together with a developers' commentary."

I think the changes was also to put more emphasis on how dire the situation was with the dream machines. In the first version you just meet a few individuals. The new version illustrates much better that something is very very wrong and that it affects a lot of people.
Have you ever thought of doing a "Let's Play" of any of the "Tomb Raider" games?

Ya your right they cut 2 other dreams that where like the little girl and the wardrobe. I mean that was the only one they had with a major choice so I can see why. I don't know which way I like better.

Sven, it's great to see you've continued or returned to continue LP's. My first and last encounter was with URU. After a long while, I lost how to find you. This evening, I stumbled on an old bookmark (LP URU), on opening Edge (a browser, I don't usually use). I smiled.
It's great to hear your voice. I looked through your list of LP videos and was delighted to see you'd produced them for TLJ, Dreamfall TLJ, and Dreamfall Chapters. I wasn't disappointed that Ragnar et al., worked to complete the story.
I look forward to your spin on this part of the journey and its close. I'll probably watch the others. Thank you for continuing to produce these.

Ok, it's not as bad as, let's say the Star Wars prequels, but I could still argue the whole Dreamer stuff is even more lore-breaking than the midi-chlorians.

Sven returned! I have to admit i thought he would not. I am so glad i was wrong!
You're right about some content being removed/changed from the beginning. At launch there were several dreamers you had to help to introduce Zoe's powers including a person eternally falling whom you had to slow down and a man afraid of the dark who you helped down a dark street by lighting streetlights. These were removed and replaced with the path of dreamers you walk down in order to streamline the opening when the final episode released.

No, she does a good job, I don't mind her. But it can be a little jarring if you play both games back to back.
Haha, we hated it when we first heard it :-p But yeah, it definitely grows on you, and, yeah, it is quite calming.
You must find the puzzles frustratingly very easy in" Dreamfall Chapters", compared to "Dreamfall" and especially "The Longest Journey".
Now that they've given April a fire burial right at the beginning, I'm even more inclined to believe we'll see her again.

It's been a while since I played the start, but yeah it used to be different. There was someone stuck in a falling dream you had to save, and someone in a tunnel that you had to give light. Those are what I remember, anyway. Wish I'd recorded when I played it, now!

When I first played this game, having waited for ages, I cried a lot in the opening.
I was a bit peeved about Zoë's voice, but as you said, I got used to it. Still a bit peeved, but there is nothing you can do.
They did change the beginning :/

On a side note, Narcotics are by definition *not* life saving drugs. They are sedatives, pain relievers, etc... I just got a kick out of her monologue at 19:46. :D
I'm also not sure why, but none of the sequence in between Zoe's bedroom and the little girl's bedroom was in my game. No people following me, just went right to her. WTF.

Whoa wait what where did the game play go. I played this when it came out and there were more things to do in dreamtime.
WTF??? Why did they change beginning?
In the first version of this game, in the Beginning you can see multiple Dreamer Spots and teleport to the one who needs your help.
You save 3 People with easy Puzzles and also try out your abilities. A perfect tutorial.
The persons you save are:
1. A Woman is falling endlessly down, in a nightmare Loop, unable to catch the saving Bridge forever.
2. A Man who is stuck in a Darkness Nightmare, where his fears and worries feeds his nightmare and suppressing his inner Light.
3. A little Girl with a Monster in the Closet and a neglecting Mom in real life. (It's the same in this version).
I found it great, it is great, but now in the "new" version she is rescuing people in mass like it is walk in the park.
Why did they delete the spiritual portrayals and advice? What a waste...

Dilandau3000 I think I played a demo for The longest journey back in the day... I like lucid dreaming and fiction related to it, but it seems mostly to be an excuse to put a "real" person into a fantasy setting? I'll keep watching, maybe you can turn me around ;)
Can't wait for Oduction though! I hope they'll add Vive support before your Let's Play starts.
I would definitely suggest playing or watching The Longest Journey and Dreamfall, otherwise this story is going to be hard to follow. :)

Depends on whether I like it or not. So far, I'm not too hopeful, to be honest.
+Dilandau3000 that's understandable as it will probably not have as much story as previous Mass Effect games it will still probably have the dialogue opinions and choices but still they said that it will be more focused on exploration

This series is so new age far left nutjob anti corporation that I can't just take it seriously. I don't mind a critique now and them but it seems just too heavy handed for me, like the movie Avatar. But i will only watch these videos because it's Sven comeback !
