I'd like to ask for some clarifications. I tried over on RPG, but the Mazes page doesn't seem to get responses, so I will also ask here: A few things are a bit unclear in the rules, specifically regarding Advances. On page 65, it gives the basic Edge list, splitting the 44 Edge into 7 groups, one of which is Advances. On page 73, it says that “Advances are not usually available to starting characters (though there are always exceptions.)” It then lists 36 Edges, which includes most of the Basic Edges list. This seems to suggest that the only Edges available to new characters are Beautiful, Bugbear, Charming, Cunning, Ilf, Keen, Smallfolk, and Young. Is this correct? Then, according to page, 53, a character gets an Advance after their second adventure. It seems that this is the one and only time they do so. So a character who has 100 adventures grows in knowledge and skill after the 2nd, but never again. Am I understanding correctly? Thanks for any clarifications you can give.
I just received my copy of maze’s RPG, and I’m not seeing anything about movement or a mechanic that uses movement. Do you just use a moment to move up and attack or move up and do whatever it is you wanna do? Is that how you’re supposed to use that moment?
Hey thanks for the video, and the game mechanics look awesome so far. But I didn't see anything about the MC. Is the game running on written adventures all the time? I mean apart from random tables. Other tools or rules for the MC to organize or improvise the dungeon/adventure? I guess Darkness would be tied to this aspect? But I'd like to know more about the MC side.
There are complete rules for the MC running the game, along with a lot of “how to” run things. At some point we’ll make a How to run Mazes in 10 minutes.
@@9thLevelGames well you got my pledge because it reminds me of that comic and the system seems like fertile ground to make something in. looking forward to it.
Rules seem very original, very interesting! Now I wanna try them. Thanks!
Amazing! Thank you for that very precise and accurate explanation
Mostly pledged so I could have A. shipwrights art in a book. I love his work.
So amazing
@@9thLevelGames is the Gnoll cassette going to be available in the pledge or just the digital download? I’d prefer the physical media when available.
@@xTheMetalTrucker HDK will be releasing the cassette, we’re just doing the digital.
Added to our Quickstart guides playlist :)
pretty neat intro !

@@9thLevelGames Great! I hope you will do that before the end of the kickstarter :_)
That T-shirt is not in the KS, why.
That T-shirt is from HDK the label that produces GNOLL and other great Dumgeon Synth. It’s for the band BASIC DUNGEON.
Sounds like there was some inspiration from the comic Die for the single die rolls. i dig
Polymorph “predates” DIE, but I LOve Love Die. Such a great series.

Can this be played solo?
I’m sure you can use a system like mythic or whatever and play solo just like with most RPGs.
what do I do with this antimeme box here?
Mazes look slike it could be a great game for solo play.
Interesting TTRPG… but too expensive.
You voted for Biden didn't you?
