Depending on you're commute...my 40e...brilliant...60+ mpg easily... 2 litre petrol engine has plenty power even without electric....no obvious difference to my 3 previous desiel versions.... For me great
good comparasion - some interesting reading there.. be interesting to take into account the cost of electric per Kw. What size is the battery on the X5?
X drive 40e has sport plus in its M sport trim which stiffens the suspension and much more engine settings Just like my car which does 0-100 in less than 6.2 seconds
I wanted to go for the 40e but switched to the 40d at the last minute. The fuel savings you're going to make on you daily commute to work during the week will be purely erased on the week ends on your longer journeys (over 25km). I drive 20,000km/year and only 7,000km of that is on daily commute to work. Financially and environmentally speaking, it does not make any sense. On top of that, the performances are significantly reduced once you're left with the thermic engine alone (after your first 25km). I fou want a nice electric car with some luxury feel for your daily commute, go buy a I3 instead.
Yea you got it right, its better to buy diesel Bmw 640d 3.0 diesel it spends 7.0L on 100km,less than this X5 40e spending battery after 15 Km then it uses petrol which is more likely to use 11 L approximately!
Huge amount of details you can't really get else where, but the music is just to dramatic .... it's not crappy action movie guys ! Anyway, thanks a lot for very good comparison, defo a thumb up.
Actually 18km is too pessimistic, maybe reality in Polish winter weather but I get 22-23 km in spring and autumn city driving (10-20 degrees C) and even 25-26 in summer (20+ degrees C)

X40e has sport plus mode in the M sport trim and does 0-100 at around 6.1 seconds
And stage 1 makes it a beast at 400 hp. Love it

Obviously hybrids are designed not on high speeds. Its for city for traffic areas, compared to ordinary engine burns fuel.

X5 40e weighs around 2150kgs
Not 2305kg
I hate the diesel noise and smell, also when heavy traffic, 40e doesn't use fuel when stopping. So I choose 40e.
Over 70 mpg with a hybrid? That’s nice
Caroline Liu 30km good enough to make it through a city.
Can you charge the car from it's own petrol engine instead of plugin all times?
yes
No....
Nice vídeo!!!! Fantástico
A used LPG porsche cayenne or vw touareg
BMW X5 45e please!
And now 50e.
Very informative,thanks!
The best range on the X5-30D is 952 miles or 47mpg. Next challenge : Reach the one thousand!
